The original dreamland barbecue started in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It is a game day tradition. It started years ago with John “Big Daddy” Bishop. He started selling ribs on Alabama football game day in his front yard. It evolved into a restaurant that he had in his house today. The house is in a residential area so you have to go through a neighborhood to get to the house which is actually the restaurant and that is the original Dreamland Barbecue and there are other location since it’s been franchised.

I’ve been here in the Huntsville/Madison County area born and raised. Still have yet to eat at Dreamlands. I’ve always eaten at smaller BBQ joints. They say the smaller the joint, the better the BBQ lol
