Toa items do not change money raid metas, ring only shines in solo/duo. EVoid is still better than masori, and shadow is worse than sang. Extra rune pouch slot is nice.
Blowpipe Nerf: BP nerf affects tob very little. Tbow is now more dps on maiden if you lack scythe, but blowpipe is still better than scythe on leftover solo crabs at maiden when freezing, as well as nylo waves and nylo boss. To avoid getting drained at maiden, you now need to do a 2 way with tbow or a 1 way chin. Unfortunately you need to do a 3 way switch to avoid getting drained with blowpipe.
Thralls: In terms of time save, thralls > venge. The lunar spell Spellbook Swap lets you use both spellbooks at the same time at the cost of additional spaces for runes.
I included SBS in both the range and mdps setups, but in casual raids it can still be nice to have the ranger camp lunars for pot share and thralls for the mdps. For PB or more serious speed attempts, you can take bloods out of your sang between rooms in order to save an additional inventory space.
Additional Notes:
Maiden: when freezing 3s, make sure to cast on the south crab to ensure that the barrage also hits N2 on the side of the clump.
Verzik: Blowpipe is now the best way to pop purple crabs. Switching to void gloves and/or anguish as well makes popping it much more reliable due to torva’s high negative ranged bonus.
Chally during p2 is not worth due to her high defense. Instead, save spec for a claw spec during p3.

If it helps to clarify: Verizk is healed by (dmgdealt/10)% of her base hitpoints and increases all of her combat stats by 5% rounded down on the first heal only.
eg.
1. Player is 99hitpoints, tornado does 49damage (current hitpoints/2, rounded down)
2. Verzik heals by 4.9% of her base hitpoints, rounded down
3. Verik's base stats increase by 5%, rounded down, which gives 3melee max hits and 1 or 2 range/mage max hits depending on if you're praying correctly or not.
So if you're 99hp and heal during webs because of the proc/tornado spawn, you will heal verzik by 121 or 139 in a trio or 4man respectively as opposed to 24 or 28 were you to be 20hp and heal during webs.
That is very interesting, thank you. I had seen several different percentages that people have thrown around, but no one was entirely sure.
Those definitely seem correct from what I've seen as far as the heal as well as the extra max hit through prayer.

@@SeptemberRS Yeah there was a lot of misinformation derived from early speculation about the healing mechanic. Xzact estimated early on release that the heal was simply a value of 3xDmgDealt, which isn't too far off. In fact, its a bit less as seen in the examples above. For such a simple thing to test, I'm mostly surprised it wasnt done sooner.

Will need to make an update on this for spellbook swap + thralls for dps roles.
I don’t think spellbook swap and thralls are worth for efficient money raids bc of the extra trading/uncharging sang staff for bloods
The question isn't "are they worth it", because they definitely are. The marginal dps advantage to the entire raid is vastly greater than almost any switches you could compare them to. The question is what you drop and skip to fit them in. Trading isn't required, it just saves inventory spaces for speedrunning teams to bring in extra pnecks.
The vast majority of the items in a dps role's invent will have less timesave than thralls can add, inquisitor certainly being the easiest choice to sub out.

I wish there was a scaled tob guide (2+1, 2+2, 3+1; 4+1, 3+2) for teachers taking newbies without max gear. a super frequent question is how to finish p2 verzik in 3+1, how many hits on red crabs before its more efficient to scythe verzik for scythe’s 3 hitsplats? crabs heal her 1:1 as proven by nexus osrs on twitter, so is it more efficient to scythe crabs once, then get a hit off after dark lightning shield? or twice and miss a hit on verzik? or three times and if still high hp even chally spec?
The thing is with gear setups for taking noobs is there isn't a right answer. It really depends on your skill, your gear, and how comfortable you are with preserving supplies. There's way too many variables for that part for me to help you.
As far as number of hits on red crabs before getting back on verzik, there isn't one. It's optimal to hit them to 15%, the number of hits depends entirely on how many it takes to get them that low. P2 crabs do heal 1:1, but verzik also has a lot more defense, which is why it's worth to hit them so low.
If not planning on skipping that phase you generally want to scythe them at least twice. If they're still higher than 15%, you can hit them on your skip cycle and gain a tick over just scything them earlier.
You only chally spec P2 when you Know you can skip the next phase, because overall it's less damage just scything and attacking the next red crabs earlier.
However, you can always get on verzik early, and if it doesn't look like you'll make the skip, then just get back on the red crabs and get them low.
In the sample 4s setup for range role, would buckler be more valuable than occult?

That specific plugin isn't part of default runelite, but there is a very good substitute.
Theatre of Blood Stats is on the plugin hub and functions the same way.

With assembler you lose a max hit at 109 range, and without assembler you lose a max at 111.

No worries, thanks for all you do. A lot of new eyes on this video lately because of Aaty's discord and a general increase in people trying to learn ToB for the first time nowadays. Really interesting to see what the raid is like at the highest level.
Is there a list of plugins you are using? Would like to enable the one to see players veng and specs that landed.

Is this still a viable way? Im doing 3 mans now found a team was only 416 400kc soooo im a diff breed, team sent me a pic guide of what roles bring but looling for a quick vid and inv organization to kinda learn. Im mostly melee role and sometimes rng but ill never mage (lowwest ping is 90s)

Yeah almost everything in this guide is still relevant, I plan on making a thrall update eventually. 416 kc is a lot different than efficient teams, but also casual raids with your friends probably won't use all these strats either. Freezing isn't a huge issue on that ping, I usually play on around 115, it does make a little harder to 1t react though. The trio setups at 8:10 in the guide are pretty good, but I would definitely drop inq for spellbook swap if you're comfortable

Has TOA had any impact on maximum efficiency tob? (outside of 4 runes in a runepouch and possibly masori? probably not).
Not really.
Ring is incredibly impactful for the duo and solo metas, but much less so for the bigger scales. I don't think ring or masori will see any use outside of maybe record attempts in 4s/5s. Fang is really nice for irons who don't have scythe yet lol, but overall no big changes to the meta at all.
@@SeptemberRS Hehe, this comment didn't really age well. Lb is a pretty relevant item nowadays as you get access to zcb specs in some situations. Also meaning that you can do rato (which is hato but with lb) for p1. And Masori is utilized to save inventory space, so you can money neck bloat in 4s.

What about craws/3a bow for range role at nylo room? it massively speeds up the early waves, saves ~15 seconds according to kittyyyy’s new calculations
I don’t know why kittyyyy would tell you that or bother trying to calc it, but that’s just not true. In reality it doesn’t save any time at all, because you can just bring extra chins for prefires as I mention. If you didn’t have chins the difference would exist but it’s Very small
Even though you can auto cast with kodai, you click barrage on your spell book. Is this just personal preference or does it have a reason?
Good question, it's not personal preference. When using autocast there is a 1 extra tick delay when clicking on your target and casting. The only way to freeze N1234 is to manually cast
That said, you can autocast after you manually cast the first, but it's a good habit to only manual cast in tob

I cover this briefly but here's a better explanation
Short answer: no, swift and ham joint are exactly the same for nylo
Longer answer: technically ham joint with inq is Slightly more accurate while having the same max hit, but you also need to switch the attack style to aggressive and then back after the room, since it shares style with DWH. To solve this, you can use inq top/bot with serp/faceguard as I show in the video. This lets you camp accurate, have the same max hit, and be Slightly more accurate. But the level of accuracy that we're talking about here is saving a single tick after like 100+ raids. There really is no difference unless you're going for world record, and even then..

Is the maiden bp switch before bp nerf?
It is yes. To avoid drain you now need to do a 3 way with bp, but there are alternatives
In bandos: 2 way tbow + anguish, 1 way chin
In torva w/ torture: 2 way tbow + anguish
In torva w/ blood fury: 1 way tbow, 1 way chin
imbued heart better than anc hat every single time. also if u prepot imbued heart u can use it again before nylo.
That's why I have imbued hearts in my setups and not ancestral hat 👍Also, you can't use it again before nylo with a good team, the timer won't be up by then if you prepotted it

Appreciate it. I know jagex has mentioned it before, but hopefully they'll add an option to the new client to remove click options on dead npcs. This would keep the animations, but you would be able to click through them, as to not "devalue the artists' work"
@@SeptemberRS i completly agree on the dead npc plugin. Socket is kinda iffy IMO tho, but I understand that at a Tick perfect lvl, having to call out is just annoying time waste basiclly. I just wish jagex would work on allowed alternatives.
@@failproductionsdk Party plugin already exists for Runelite, but it just never works lol. Socket (besides sote maze obviously) would be an amazing addition to base client that would greatly improve raid experience, especially when going with randoms. Efficient speccing is just such an important mechanic for team content

If you'd like I can take a look at your current setup and let you know what I think. Some switches are more important than others so even if you're not comfortable taking everything you could still get something out of it

being able to save 5s with maze plugin aint taking 6 mins off your trios my man
They're only important if you're bad at the game xD
If you do hundreds of max efficiency raids, all of this will be autopilot.. tick counters aren't going to change anything. Sote maze plugin is the one exception that gives a direct advantage, everything else is extremely minor. Hammer/BGS spec calculator helps to avoid doing a bit of annoying mental math but that's about the only other plugin that's noticeably beneficial.
