    Great progress on your greenhouse!!! Those are some delicious looking tomatoes!! I have the same issue with my cats, great at pest control but they still take advantage of the birds. I feed my birds about 9 months of the year and luckily I've gotten results from scolding the cats to leave my feeders alone. However, the temptation is sometimes too much and the cats do what is in their nature! Thanks so much for sharing! I look forward to seeing more of the transition. Stay safe!🙏❤🇺🇸

    Thank you for sharing this clean out and amend as you go and seed starting video! It's great to get a peek at the work that goes into the gardens and things moreso than simply transplanting (or direct sowing), weeding, watering, and harvesting - There's a lot of intention, too. Pretty sure I saw a few giant marigolds (fed to the goaties) that looked familiar - LOL I loved growing those in years past, but was far from prepared for how BIG they got. They always have space in or near my garden now.

    Loved this video so much Heather! Really appreciate you sharing the process of working in the greenhouse as well as seed starting/prep. I know the greenhouse has been evolving for awhile, and it just feels like one step closer to the full raised beds goal. Super happy for you, lots of hard work and hope it will pay off in the future with some wonderful harvests that aren't as difficult to manage as if everything was still in the ground in there. Lots of hugs! 💚💚💚💚💚💚

    Try to put the seeds of the spinach into tea. Leave them soaking on paper towels so their radicals come out and then plant them. They are a very hard seed. You can also use hydroperoxide in the water instead of tea.

    So, spinach is difficult for you to grow? Well, mine is radishes. I can grow radish tops all day long but I've never successfully grown radishes that produced the actual vegetable and I love radishes!!

    • @SageandStoneHomestead
      @SageandStoneHomestead  7 дней назад +3

      Oh wow! I wonder if it would be helpful to grow them in less fertile soil. We like to use them as an end of season crop after heavy feeding plants or before amending the beds in spring. I know it sounds backwards but sometimes roots will put on lots of greens if they've got a bit of a nitrogen overload they are feeding from

  • @lindaholliday4536

    I would love to support my local farmers but there prices are so much higher than the store. We have several farmers market in the area and everything is HIGH. It can cost me anywhere from $7.00-$8.00for a dozen eggs. With stores they put things on sell but not the markets.
    Will keep trying.

    • @SageandStoneHomestead
      @SageandStoneHomestead  7 дней назад +1

      That's because the big stores have the benefit of producing a huge volume. When you can purchase 10,000 egg cartons the price per unit is less than if you buy 100. This affects everything from the price of the chickens themselves, to the bedding they are on. Truthfully it's cheaper to keep your own chickens than pay $8 a dozen. I'm not sure if that's a possibility where you are.

    • @lindaholliday4536

      @SageandStoneHomestead  6 дней назад

      @@lindaholliday4536 there’s a typo in there that’s making it a little hard to understand. I imagine if people are buying the eggs at $8 a dozen there’s no incentive to lower prices
