At a music festival I happened to run into Angelo backstage (which was a grassy field behind the stage) and I thanked him for all of the years of awesome listening and concerts. He noticed my camera and pointed "Want a pic?" He asked. Of course I said yes. I now have 3 beautiful, sunny shots of him in his Mouse Ears bowler and me in my straw hat hugging each other and smiling. 3 photos I will keep forever 💓
Saw these guys a few nights ago, opening for The Bosstones w/ Big D. They absolutely killed this song; it had been easily 10+ years since I had last seen them, and they have only gotten better.
i've yet to see a clip of how they did this night after night that encapsulates how it made me feel when i opened for them on a short tour a few years ago. i guess you had to be there or be me. i was transfixed by it every night and it changed me. i'll always be very grateful for the experience. it was everything you ever wanted to see in real art and real soul. a joyous noise. tremendous love and respect. fishbone soldier.
Oh divorces, while I so far have never have been married, my best friend Raymond is and through him I've seen how bitter a divorce can be... The woman who he married had some bad vibes going, I kept on looking at her with a sense of "She's bad news" so when they got married I wrote "Ray you idiot" in their book. They turned out to be prophetic words.
Does anybody know what percussion instrument is making the metallic chirping/shaker sound in the background during the intro and between the verses? Tamborine? Live crickets? Listen close; please help. One stumped drummer here.
Christian McCollum I may not be a professional, but I did some research just for you. The personnel on this album had nothing listed for percussion, only for drums and nothing else. I believed it was a bell stick or a tambourine, but in all of the live versions, it’s just a light cymbal tap, like the ones you would hear in jazz. This is all I could find on this topic.

I’ve seen Fishbone more than any band live (live in LA). Angelo is the master showman and don’t think there’s a better band live than them.
What an amazing story

Also, it could be a sound effect used for the track, but I’m confident it wasn’t be sampled.
I think it's an organ bubble with some kind of tremelo on it
ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED ROCK BANDS EVER, and also one of the most copied.
This is a love letter to Trump supporters.
