@@jakeoht791 you can go back to believing the lies you are too stupid to see through. This is about AF1 and the best President in US history was in it.
Back in the mid-80’s, I attended an air show at Offutt AFB just south of Omaha. There was an AF1, though not official as the president wasn’t on board. It was a new plane that hadn’t yet been placed in presidential service though it had all of the markings. The plane landed on the runway, using only half of it, coming to a complete stop. Then, after the stop the plane continued in the same direction taking off using the remaining half of the runway. Then, it circled around and landed just as it had the first time. After this second landing, the plane turned 90° on the runway facing the spectators. And then it bowed to us. I’m assuming that it could do that because the front of the plane could be raised or lowered a bit to meet up with passenger stairs and jetways of various heights. Anyway, the plane having the ability to land and take off using only half the runway was impressive, so having it bow was icing on the cake.
@@janetstory594 from my flight training a touch and go means you clean up and throttle up as soon as you’ve touched down. It sounds just like a demonstration of its capabilities given it gave to a complete stop there’s no logical reason to take off using half a runway if you’re at your destination. Would be interesting to watch either way!
@@janetstory594 No that was a Stop and Go. A touch and go is just that...no stopping. You just continue on your roll out after reconfiguring your plane for takeoff settings, add throttle, and go. People who are not impressed with the feather-touch landing executed by the skilled flight crew of Air Force One are either (A) completely void of appreciation regarding skilled aviation, or (B) they don't have the maturity to think beyond their political bigotry. I have observed the crew of Air Force One practice multiple "touch and go" landings at Joint Base Andrews. It was impressive to observe an aircraft of this size and mass being controlled in such a precise manner. By the way, I observed this practice session when Barack Obama was president. Not for one second did I allow my political feelings about President Obama to discount the skills and dedication of the Air Force One flight crew. It's called respect. I strongly suggest the naysayers of this video give it a try -- it may reduce some of the hate you carry unnecessarily in your heart.

Great landing, by the way as well! The pilots chosen to fly Air Force One undoubtedly feel very honored and proud to do so. But so should the passengers, knowing they have the best of the best of the best flying them around! There's nothing that stirs my patriotic emotions quite like watching Air Force One! Whether coming, or going, or just sitting on the tarmac, or in a hangar, she always seems to bring a tear(or two!) to my eye!
I was in aviation while I was in the navy and I used to tear down the aircraft engines all the way down to the Rotor blades and put the casings back together and it's a lot of work lol lol we would do test flights on the engines after we did the test on the engines at a Testing site. The maintenance for upkeep on an aircraft as this is unbelievable unless you have worked on them you would not even realize the man hours that goes into it. This landing was perfect in my opinion. I learned the highest level of maintenance in the navy and I am so grateful to the taxpayers of the United States that they gave me that opportunity. This old flight attendant/pilot is very impressed with this landing!
It was like...BUTTAH!!!
That sounds like an awesome spectacle! What type of aircraft was it? Still a 747?
I believe those are called Touch and Go's. We watched pilots in training do them here in Sacramento at the Mather AFB.
Regulations prohibit this type of training at night however. You must do a stop and go. however not advisable with traffic in the pattern on short final.
TO DOUG BOWERS:Greetings from Bellevue, Nebraska! We live 10 minutes from Offutt. We moved from California to Nebraska. I love it out here and the jets and planes are fantastic!
