That I don’t know of/understand the oppression that Irish people (and others) have suffered at the hands of the English 3. That I am unaware of the distinction between: R. Of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England 4. That I’m too stupid to understand that I don’t know everything 5. That I’m from the USA, I’m Canadian. Implying that a Canadian is from the US is as insulting as calling an Irishman, or a Scotsman “English”. It’s horribly insulting. 6. That I am unaware of the religious oppression, and violence that rocked both islands throughout history. 7. That I’m of pure English descent. No I’m Métis, I’m heavily descended from the French, and the First Nations. My family has also experienced some of the worst of humanity at the hands of the Crown, and the Canadian government. 8. That I meant anything in my previous comment as any form of challenge. Are the glaciers and ice shelves considered part of Greenland and Antarctica's landmass or could you consider parts of Antarctica "islands" that are connected by them?
Australia isn't an island because it doesn't exist
Change my mind
If you had listened earlier, Australia's a CONTINENT, because it's got:
Australia
New Zealand
Papua/New Guinea
Indonesia
Any OTHERS I'd missed?
Just read the comments of Indonesian people who are too OVERPROUD to see the 3 islands included in the list...

Australia should be counted as an island, as its not part of a whole continent. New Zealand, Papau New Guinea are also part of Oceania.
Ellesmere Island also hosts the largest population of Arctic wolves in the world, and it’s home to Alert, the world’s most northerly permanently inhabited place.

Why can't continents be islands? The definition of island never says continents aren't islands so basically the largest island is the mainland of Europe, Africa and Asia
Madagascar split from Africa 135 million years ago and from India 88 million years ago. 90% of its fauna is endemic which makes it a continent, NOT just an island.
Australia 🇦🇺 isn’t a continent, and the island of “New Guinea” is really called Papua.
Australia is a continent. An island consistent maritime influences at its very centre as a regular occurrence. This does not happen in Australia with any influence that can be called regular.
Or Oceania.
@@loafhouse Oceania works for Soccer WC. A continent is a major land mass. Ans island is an island.
Why is there this confusion. Sheesh we landed on the Moon 50 years ago but we can't tell the diff between an island and a continent.
@@boriskarloff9992 It's FIFA which stands for Fédération Internationale de Football Association or International Federation of Association Football. Football is British for soccer, New Zealand, Papa New Guinea and Australia and others make Oceania or Australia. Nerd here.
@@loafhouse but Oceania is good as a soccer development area. But Oceania, as the name implies, is about oceans, not continents. Australia is a continent; end of story. Oceania is an area that includes Australia and the islands to it's North, North-East & East.
Australia has vast areas of land where maritime climate has no effect. Therefore it is a continent. Oceania, excluding Australia, experiences maritime climate, year in, year out.
How bloody hard is it to understand that concept?
As for soccer, itsa constipated game invented by the great Constipates, England.

What is your point? Northern Ireland was shown, and then scribbled out because they focus on the island of GB itself, the rest of Ireland wasn’t shown, why are you mad?
You make a lot of assumptions here that simply aren’t true:
1. That I confuse “UK”, “Great Britain”, and “England” for the same thing
2. That I don’t know of/understand the oppression that Irish people (and others) have suffered at the hands of the English
3. That I am unaware of the distinction between: R. Of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England
4. That I’m too stupid to understand that I don’t know everything
Despite my poor (very) wording, I meant it as a genuine question, because I feel that gaining information from someone who has experience is always better than using whatever google throws out.
Apologies for sounding so aggressive here and in my previous comment (I can’t help it although I try), although it seems as if you’re looking for a reason to be angry.

I have always wondered why Europe and Asia are separate continents when they are clearly one land mass. Kind of like Australia and Oceania in reverse.
You can travel to Africa from Asia by land. You can't travel to Europe from Africa by land, *unless* you go through some place that can only be possibly described as Asia and vice-versa.
Why is Australia a continent and a Country? It doesn’t control papas New Guinea, Micronesia, new Zeland, New Caledonia, Tuvalu or any other of the nations in the continent. Just refer it to Oceania. Since Australia is an island and is an independent nation just like the rest of the nations of Oceania. Saves trouble.
