The hole in Russia was very hot, as you mentioned. It is also interesting to get the recording of what they heard there. It sounded like people in pain, of course, it is probably caused by the tensions and flows of the rock. But it sounded like . . . Hell. And the darned bits were melting.

It used to be that in drilling one had to use a bit of sufficient diameter to accept the well casing. This required the bit to be larger in diameter than the casing. In order to change the bit one had to "trip" the well, which means that you had to pull out all the casing pipe, put on a new bit and put it all back. I assume that we have technology now that allows a bit to be narrow enough to go down the well casing and then expand to the proper size. If anyone actually knows how this is done these days I would be interested in finding out.

And at nearly the same depth, they discovered water. They also found that the temperature at the bottom of the hole reached a blistering 356°F (180°C). Being too hot to continue, drilling officially halted in 1994.

Humans, intelligent beings, capable of creative thinking, took centuries of learning and an industrial revolution just to make something fly...and a century later, we still can't replicate the efficiency and complex ability with which birds fly. But yeah, it totally makes sense that creatures without intelligence or self awareness were able to pass on genes that allowed their offspring to develop with physical attributes that allowed for flight.

Behind the bit (up the hole) there is a wrist like joint. We can move that joint to steer the bit. Data can come up through the mud or in a wired BHA (Bottom hole assembly) The directional boys are really good at what they do. Was a tool pusher on a rig in Dubai.

From an engineering standpoint, they are wasting time, effort, expense in ignoring the laws of physics. As they go deeper underground the difficulties increase exponentially, so the more sensible thing to do would be to dig out the area (above their drill hole) as deeply as possible. For example, if they dug out the surrounding area to a depth of 500 feet, that would mean they would have to deal with 500 feet LESS drilling difficulties. I don't know what the maximum feasible depth that they could carve out around their drill hole, but it would be at least 500 feet.

There is 1 super drill that America some times rents but even when we rent it the drill is still secured by specialized American private military just to keep its vital functions a secret. To build that type of drill China would have to have an agency with the same intelligence as DARPA a place that is filled with the smartest people on the planet that are given unlimited recourses and unlimited funding and are well above the law and well China doesn't do that ever. So don't worry this story is a really bad lie.

this was already tried before by the USSR and it took them longer than 50 years to get to around 3km from memory, it was a race between the US and the USSR who could get to the earth's inner mantel crust earlier, aka part of its core, the US stopped after just a few years meanwhile the USSR kept going, this wont be done in a year or two.

It's solid/molten rock down there.. There are no caves down there. They physically can't exist due to the pressures down there. If things could live in magma/molten rock, then we would've encountered them already since people live in Hawaii just fine. It's not like they can even get up to the top to begin with. At a certain point, the immense pressure just closes up the tiny gap that humans made. That's why it's difficult to dig that deep, you can't just simply break some rocks and forget about it.

Maybe they should use a strong enough laser to drill, and stop wasting time and resources. Developing a laser that can drill would benefit mankind more than what little is learned down a hole.

But for what reason are they drilling that deep so being that deep to get a real core un contaminated it has to be run along with that intense heat

Finding and obtaining those liquid dinosaurs is the incentive for a lot of expensive human activity. They must be valuable or something.

The info was very interesting, but the narration could be improved. The voice is hurried and nearly shouting. Try learning from British or Japanese narrators.

It's already known the inner core of earth is burning and molten.(that's why volcanoes are spewing lavas).
