The issue would be if the school starts picking and choosing which religious documents it can or can't display. Then it does start to look like it is 'establishing a religion'. That would be my critique of the situation.
While I understand where you're coming from, it's important to remember that The First Amendment states that CONGRESS shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Historically, states have had every right to establish a state religion that they display on their public government buildings. They were not permitted to force anyone into participation of said religious establishment but it's completely acceptable within the law to have a state religion. As long as it is not the federal government, through Congress, it's completely constitutional to display and respect religious iconography and memorabilia in local government establishments.
"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." John Adams. The 10 commandments are perfect in schools because the main 3 monotheistic religions accept them already. It was set up at the start for believers in God.

NONE of those opposing the Ten Commandments in Louisiana schools are actually Louisiana organizations. As usual, they're all EXTERNAL groups trying to shove THEIR values down OUR throats. Just like we TRIED to outlaw abortion in our state, but outside forces - including the Federal government- shoved it down our throats. Louisiana is an overwhelmingly Christian state. That's one reason we are so hated.
As a Christian I disagree with this ruling. I understand that secularism inherited its values from Christianity, and to claim that it's "neutral" requires a leap of faith, but for me there is a problem with requiring public schools to display the 10 Commandments. I'm fine with private schools doing this. I'm no lawyer or an expert on the Constitution, but imposing this legislation on public schools does seem like a breach on the separation of church and state. I find Ruslan's argument differentiating between the Bible and Church to be pretty weak. A church lives by certain doctrines and these doctrines are formed from the Bible including the 10 Commandments. Yeah, no one is forced to believe the 10 Commandments, but the government forcing public schools to display it seems like an overreach. These are just my initial thoughts and I'm open to discussion.
Is the Ten Commandments being mandated to be taught? Or is Christianity becoming like Islam and trying to make the Bible the Law of the Land? If its just for educational purposes fine, but it better not be forced. Those who dont care and dont wish to learn it, and those with different faiths shouldn't be forced.
@fortunatoluccresi5243 It's just displayed, they'd probably have to learn about Christianity regardless. We all have to in school the same with Islam and other religions.
@@Jadablovedogs Dont know which school you attended but no. The school I went to didn't teach me the Bible or any other Religions. Just Language, Science and Math.
I’m all for this at this point we need as much god in our lives as possible in fact there should be multiple translations of the Ten Commandments not just in English and available for viewing around the school grounds as well prominently displayed the ten. Commandments are the basis for modern law most of our laws are simply adapted versions of these laws and I think that was gods goal all along to begin with all glory goes to the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit Amen 🙏🏿
To those who protest via bringing up church and state, fine, how about academia and state as well? It does indeed not state to convert, or else, it is like putting up an information board like any other. Nice change of pace tho.
"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." John Adams. Saying you should have the moral principles of Christianity as the bedrock of the nation, and saying that everyone must be a Christian are two very different things. One is just plain common sense, the other would be a state religion, which almost no one is advocating for. Atheists should learn this lesson. Keep the commandments in school!
We were never a Christian nation that be against the very things Jesus taught seperation of chruch and state thats my main problem, the government showing favor to 1 religion over another is why most people are mad if they do this they'll have to put any other religious text of similarly meaning
The historical argument I think is a little telling because from this standpoint it would make sense to have the constitution or bill of rights before the 10 commandments even if we are going to go that route. To me it’s not that there’s any inherent problem with it since nothing is forced on anyone, it’s that it doesn’t make much sense to me. If Louisiana is going to go this route I would expect for them to talk about implementing all 10 commandments into law. Not that I’d agree with it, but at least they’d be consistent. Since there are millions of classrooms in this state, that means that significant resources are needed to make this happen. For those complete favor, I ask what’s the main purpose of the law? If you say: “just a general good way to live your life even From a secular perspective”. Ok, but are these really the 10 things us as average Americans hold in the highest regard? Secondly why does this need to be in math classrooms and every classroom in the entire state? Like not even every classroom has a clock. I think they’re all required to have a fire alarm, and that’s easy to argue for. Even if the posters were free, the fact that it’s a requirement makes me think that it’s more to lawmakers than just “religious context to the country” or “good values to live by”. And to be fair: if instead the law said 10 commandments in every classroom associated with religion/sociology, that I would support if it had several several equivalent requirements for all other subjects. I’ve straight up walked into classrooms in recent years with blank walls and can’t even tell what the subject is, and we’re wondering why public schools don’t have the best reputation for teaching the youth.
@@BornAgain223 I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Self help has that type of stuff plastered all in their books. I’m saying it’s a slippery slope. I’m all about Christianity but it opens the door for other religious groups to do the same and I wouldn’t tolerate that.

"....Ten Commandments..." But being forced to have the evolution fiction taught as 'truth' in schools is not good either. To be fair, the Biblical creation account should also be taught so that students can understand both and then make up their own minds which account makes more sense.
Secular neutrality is a myth. Pride, DEI, and climate cultism are the secular religions. It’s not whether religion undergirds society, but which religion. If that’s true, what’s so bad about what Doug Wilson and Joel Webbon are advocating for? Your producer said “it’s not good” when referring to Wilson’s and Webbon’s positions, but then we have to ask “compared to what?”Certainly not now, or even the past 50 years. The disorder, dysfunction, and degeneracy has been ramping up and it’s off the charts now. What’s your vision and how is it better than Wilson’s and Webbon’s vision?
No where on the Constitution does it say separation of church and state. That notion comes from communications from Thomas Jefferson. The 1st amendment states that our government cannot infringe on our religious beliefs. We have the right to worship freely
1. The constitution doesn't need to explicitly say Separate Church and state outright, the establishment clause still establishes a wall between church and state. 2. You do have a right to worship freely, but passing laws mandating your religious texts be mandatory isn't free worship, you dont have the right to impose your religion on everyone else.

It's amazing how people can forget history in a few short years even as it plays all in their faces in movies and tv station for decades.
29 of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence where men of the cloth. The constitution is close to a Christ document but left open for allow the acceptance of others to convert there way to a better way. Even the Founding Father's understood it would only survive through the will of good men. Hence, why they said "If we can keep it".
This is actually unconstitutional
Guys like Ruslan don't care, they're anti american
And all these religious people thinking it's fantastic. The thing they don't realize is that once you open the door to mix religion in government, you open the door for government in religion.
@@IOKIE57 yes Louisiana has an establishment clause forbids government from taking any action to establish a state religion.
JESUS says keep Sabbath holy.
POPE says keep Sunday holy!
“The Bible says remember that thou keep the Sabbath day. The Catholic Church says, 'NO!'. By my divine power, I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week. And, lo, the entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic Church."
-Father Enright,

House Speaker used to represent Louisiana. Perhaps, some influence from congress going downstream?
NONE of those opposing the Ten Commandments in Louisiana schools are actually Louisiana organizations.
As usual, they're all EXTERNAL groups trying to shove THEIR values down OUR throats.
Just like we TRIED to outlaw abortion in our state, but outside forces - including the Federal government- shoved it down our throats.
Louisiana is an overwhelmingly Christian state. That's one reason we are so hated.
Rebellious children who hate their Father. That's all it is. Call a spade, a spade.
It's simply just displayed mate
@@ServantOfGod06 I don´t want my kids to see this indoctrination everyday.
@@ServantOfGod06 If it's not forced then there's no problems.
Separation of church and state means the federal government can’t force the hand of the church. This has nothing to do with that.
Exodus 20
exodus 20 is a funny fairy tale
I bet you ain’t coming with that same energy if the Deep South passed 20 Sayings of The Buddha from The Dhammapada. Just sayin.
@@BornAgain223 I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Self help has that type of stuff plastered all in their books. I’m saying it’s a slippery slope. I’m all about Christianity but it opens the door for other religious groups to do the same and I wouldn’t tolerate that.
This is a floodgate. If you put one up, then what about others. They may or may not "be cool" with the ten commandments, but they have other rules.
disagree with the 10 commandments in school -- there's a subtext that's wild here. curt kennedy has the correct take on this. LOL
that said, agree with what you said about our new religion that is currently promoted in schools; don't want that either.

Ruslan! What are the 10 commandments?!?
1. God is the Lord. He is your only focus of worship and praise
2. No idols
3. Do not take the Lords name in vain
4. Keep the Sabbath holy
5. Honor your parents
6. Do not kill
7. Do not commit adulatory
8. Do not steal
9. Do not lie
10. Do not covet
"....Ten Commandments..."
But being forced to have the evolution fiction taught as 'truth' in schools is not good either.
