Purposely Getting the 2022 Toyota Tundra Stuck - Crawl Control, Shovel, Tow Rope, and Maxtrax

- In this video, we go out and have a little fun in the snow. We see what the new 2022 Toyota Tundra can do in deep snow. Sure enough, we find a lot of snow and bury the Tundra and Tacoma. We tried out the crawl control on the new Tundra but being that the truck was high-centered, it was not going anywhere without help.
This video was not intended to be educational. It was purely for us to see what the new Tundra can do and we wanted to share that with you.
I'm not sure these guys could get out of a dry parking lot.
It is kind of clear these guys don't live in snow country. There are some lessons that are best learned in rusty farm trucks. 1. Momentum is your friend 2.) Carry a plastic snow shovel. 3. load four 50lb bags of class 5 paver base over the rear axle 4.) Keep a warm coat, knit hat, gloves, and insulated boots in your truck. 5.) Have a friend with a 4 wheel drive tractor on speed dial.
6) water and peppered beef jerky
I thought crawl control works best without the rear locker engaged so it can send and cut power to each wheel independently. With the rear-locker engaged, it defeats the purpose in a very stuck situation.
It does.
This is what we call "all hat, no cattle". You have all the fancy gear, but........
Hater
@@grantlaws4917 he is a realist.
That’s what I was thinking. No way any of them have ever left the pavement
These fancy builds and scared to beat them up. What’s the point. I been out with people on trails and they are worried about their truck getting scratch or breaking things. How fun.
For some people its a hobby. If you live in the city you might only get to do this twice a year.
$10-15k worth of mods on that Tacoma and 4Runner and you had to guide them both through a small patch of snow
Why does the Tundra Pinoy keeping braking? 😂😂🤣🤣Come on, man...momentum!! Love the videos...I could get a long with you guys...family!!! 🤙
Great video, thanks for posting. Despite your intentions it was very educational!
All you would have had to do was rock back and forth quickly and you would've rolled back out of that hole. Plus those tires are just too wide for this job. Gorgeous truck though!
This is why you need tow hooks. It was a stupid idea for Toyota not to add them to the new Tundra
Can’t believe they don’t have them
How about those front recovery hooks!
Awesome video! I love your content. Keep it coming.
doesnt matter if you have lockers or not if you cant 4 wheel…guys are too afraid to full send it…especially in snow
no doubt, with snow you need momentum and speed not 4wheel low crawl control
Can we get those r4t bed decals? I have a cement tacoma and that looks badass 👌🏻
I suspect if the snow was any deeper, he would probably have torn off the bumpers. I can't believe Toyota ruined the Tundra with this update. All it really needed with slightly better tech and a more efficient engine option.
If they used the same design or very similar, everyone would’ve cried Toyota never redesigns and got lazy and this and that. No matter what people will cry about something but I do agree that front bumper is just far too much and the stock tires look like 30’s in the wheel well. Lol. 35’s really do look perfect on this truck.
Toyota all The Way!!!
Any idea what kind of rear bumper the 4runner had? Looks clean
Could be a CBI
Not a CBI, it's an expedition one
What winch are you all using?? I have the covert on mine and the badlands apex wouldn’t fit with the grill shutters. I’m purchase shy until I can find out that definitely will fit.
tire pressure way too high
Be careful you got no front tow hook
dumb that tundras dont have that.
Did you feel like the all terrains worked better than the mud terrains in this type of snow?
All terrains are def better in snow than mts. Maybe not all but Falken wildpeaks are great in the snow, ko2’s are pretty good in the snow as well.
Why would rear brakes be bad on a 2022?
Nice tundra… seems to be a little Heavy for the snow
Maybe stick to the mall parking lot 🤔
thanks for sharing, craw control seems garbage on the snow
Best use is in the sand
Wheel speed is definitely your friend in snow, not crawl control
You in a Tacoma
What kind of tires does this Tundra have ?
Those maxtraxx saved the day. I have 2 also but 4 would of been better I think.
What wheels are in the Tacoma ?
Typical deep snow situation. Nothing new. Any truck would get stuck going that far into it. Snow does not give you the best traction. Looks like the vehicles are setup for moderate off roading. Add a front winch now and the Tundra would be set.
Need to air down some more.
What bumpers are those on the tacoma?
Front bumper is RRW, which they no longer make. And the rear is Outgear.
@@Runnin4Tacos daughter! Thanks
The tundra guy was not really punching it
U guys have no idea how to Offroad. Bunch of rookies with expensive toys
k, and?
Did you guys use the deep snow mode on the Tundra?
that's what I was wondering...Snow mode, etc.
@A- Team they don't respond....its been 9 months lol. I don't even know if there is a snow mode, I think when tfl reviewed the truck they mention the setting
@@christrarback9748 There is: Deep Snow, Mud, Sand, Dirt, and Auto. I've used it on mine and works pretty good, but with stock A/T tires.
@@a-teamIL nice! I'm getting a tundra when the 2024s are out
@@christrarback9748 Nice! What trim and color are you going for?
The tundras are a big disappointment i have a trd pro and it's basically a trail boss. The locking rear but no atrac is bad atrac in the 4runner was epic that combo with the rear locked was epic. The tudra got basically traction control that even a honda civic has with a locker its not that good offroad just a huge disappointment
Killer video! Add a question for you since you're in Tacoma master LOL I have a 3rd gen Tacoma with a 6in Zone lift kit do you know if I can fit 17in rrw wheels or 17in ssc wheels? Without issues
What offset? And tire size?
@@davidkhayev ether -38 offset or -10 offset? Havent decided and 35 inch tire
@@ryanengland6054 you'll be fine with a cab mount chop
@@davidkhayev I have a body mount relocation I'm more worried about the suspension components and theway that the smaller Rim fits I heard it could have complications
You broke it for sure
The trd sr5 comes with rear lockers ??
If you get the TRD off road package then yes. Not sure if the sport has it as well.
If you get it with the TRD OFF ROAD package then yes.
Wow that didn’t work very well
They be weighing these trucks down far too much. Half of those things and half of that gear you really don’t need to go out overlanding and wheelin. Maybe if you are out on a long overlanding trip day after day in the middle of nowhere then yeah but they don’t need all this, they literally go out wheelin for a day and maybe spend one night then go home. These trucks are weighed down far too much. For wheeling, less weight the better. That 4Runner is a beast tho. All these trucks are amazing machines and they def know how to make Toyota trucks look good tho.
You think these guys are weighing them down? Tacomabeast's Tacoma weighs 6,700lbs... that's 1,100 lbs over capacity... I still don't understand how he can have over 2,200 lbs of gear.
Whoo, first!
Tundra driver is terrible, making my truck look shitty. 😂
He got stuck on purpose to make this video.
The driver don't know how to used his truck 🤷♂️
I was about to buy a Tacoma because I live in a very cold state and every winter we get 10” 12” of snow son I don’t think is a good idea to buy this truck is sad that just looks nice but is junk.
Definitely get one these guys aren’t showcasing it well whatsoever, I have a 2019 trd off road and take into the mountains in colorado and Arizona and it does great
FJ Cruiser makes the snow it's b*tch!
Second!
Not a tundra or not 2022 !
uh.... what?
3rd!
Does pulling someone out in reverse ruin the gears? I mean the gears of the vehicle not stuck. I was always told not to pull others out of a hole in revers gear. But that was fr military vehicles .
i thought so too. i always put the stuck car in neutral if pulling back
nice, do more, bring kids LOL
Yeah bunch of noobs off roading tbh
Boring af
Aint none of that 4x4 bullshit gonna work in deep snow going up hill. What fool would be stuck in that without chains?
My advice from experience....
Buy a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon
FJ Cruiser is better
