  • Bharat escaped the hamster-wheel of modern society and the golden hand-cuffs of a corporate 6-figure job.
5 years ago he waived the conveniences and unnecessary necessities of the western world of names and things, to explore a richer lifestyle of self-realization with his wife and two boys.
Fiji, Iran, India, USA: Traveling and living off the grid, in tiny homes and in symbiosis with nature opened his worldview for adventures in the School Of Simple Living: hand-milking cows, growing grains, digging wells, homeschooling and meditating about the goal of life while turning bullshit into Gold - literally!
Bharat’s enthusiasm for Simple Living and High Thinking is incredibly infectious.

"Simple living, high thinking means to make life very simple. Plain living, minimize material necessities and at the same time the thinking should be very high". I really like this. This is what we are people missing and not focusing on, we always complicate things in our life and keep on chasing materialistic things and missing out the most important thing in life which is peace. This is an amazing speech where all people should listen and apply to their life. I'm really glad that Mr. Ben was my mentor and I learned so much from him. Great person! Hats off

This is more like setting aside, not being too entangled with established system (corporate world), getting of the grid and being more in touch with nature and humanly critical thinking on how to survive without the "system", making best use of what nature has to offer. This resulting in one gaining freedom, stress free, healthy life and enhance spiritual maturity. This is something I will be working on to achieve in this life. Simplifying the complicated with critical thinking.

I truly enjoyed your talk on TEDx and I could connect totally with it as I have had somehow similar story through my life. At a certain time I realized I got disconnected from my root and who I was by flooding in work. I stopped my hamster wheel and focused on my health and reviving my soul by connecting to Nature (my GOD) and focusing on healthy lifestyle and food and sports. AND now I am truly enjoying my life by having a nice balance between my professional and private life.

I'm a minimalist lifestyle adept and I totally agree about having a "hungry for complication" mind... The "easiest" part of minimalist mindset is getting out off material things which haven't a true value for you. But, when we start the mental changing processes, converting "overthinking" reflections to "simple thinking" ones, we face our true most challenging adversary: ourselves.

  • @adecapata

I had a chance to imagine myself living simple and I reckon it wasn’t simple (easy) at all :-), during implementation of a project with my fab team, in one of the PM’s courses. Great story and deeply resonating talk! We've internalized so many complex ways of thinking about how to live our lives that we forget about the simple things that truly make us who we are. We always attach the quality of our experience to capitalist ideas and forget to look inside for peace and happiness. It also reminded me of a Sadhguru quote that reads, "The need for meaning is only of the mind. Life has no need for meaning. You are alive - that's beautiful, and that's it." It's simple. Thanks for sharing this talk!

In the real world, we live for money and material pleasure, but we also need to live for the necessities of life. We are missing the connection to nature, which is a pure balance. It is clear from your statements that you want to stay close to nature and separate from all materialist environments. The human being is God's finest creation. God gave humans the ability to sense and identify their purpose in life. The most effective teacher for this is nature when we get close to it. Thank you for sharing your vision.

The only thing that mattered me the most was satisfaction, to gain that satisfaction I churned my brain through the medical sciences and today I am a practicing Maxillofacial surgeon in one of the busiest center in India, but I'll tell you what, I am not at peace, I am not really satisfied due to stress I see on daily basis, I love to see the spark in the eyes of my patients, then it all feels worth but still as heavy the job is, sooner or later it will kill me! This proposal of simple living, high thinking is something where real satisfaction lies and I guess we are all looking for it in our lives! This is to say a big thank you for taking us through the PM training that started November of 2022. I can attest to my change in mindset as I am already applying the principles learned at my place of work. I particularly enjoyed how engaging the sessions were, as well as the constructive feedback you offered, which has made me a better leader. It has been a pleasure learning under you 🙏

Ben is the best teacher who can simplify things. Thanks for the knowledge transfer. I admire your confidence and the passion you have for the complete unique concept - 'Simple Living'. You've made me realize that - Life was never meant to be a complex.

completely unique in a modern world, though as old as the world itself. Bhaktivedanta Swami spoke about SIMPLE LIVING, HIGH THINKING 50years ago and there are books from over 5000yrs ago, that are impressively simplifying any modern complications....

I thought about this idea some time ago, till I understood that it had been partially inspired by the hidden believes, that I can't earn enough to buy what I need (preferring to make it by hands), and don't trust enough to society to live in a city.

This is truly inspiring. We could be nature friends and invest in it and ourselves to live in peace. Maybe we need more courageous examples like Ben to encourage us to take “the risk” as we might think of it!

The concept of simple living and high-thinking is deeply intertwined. Personally, I found the video engaging because I resonated with the idea of breaking free from overthinking and pursuing our passions with confidence. It's about understanding how we perceive the world and effectively handling life's challenges. I admire your confident speaking style and aspire to one day deliver a TEDx talk like you. I'm eager to expand my network and connect with you and others - Titti Naga Satya Yagnesh

I could relate to it as i too live a somewhat similar life having retired in the Philippines after 38 years in the corporate world and suffering a burn out . I'm guessing that you were a hare krishna devotee too. Thank you ! God bless ! Haribol !
