I played this for an hour before I said goodbye to my dog-the best friend I had to put down who had come to journey's end. I will always love you, Bruno.
I can't imagine a better voice than Annie's to finish this amazing trilogy. Lord of the rings- for me the most epic. Thanks to J.R.R. Tolkien and Peter Jackson for this fantastic journey.
The most beautiful song about death possible ever written. It's pretty much saying don't be afraid of death. This was played at my brother's funeral and even though it that seems dour and it made me cry it also says we will meet again.
This may be a minority opinion, but when I hear this gorgeous song, I don’t just think about Frodo’s departure, I also think about the fact that Sam also eventually sailed West. I imagine him old and wrinkled, newly widowed by Rosie’s passing, his children all grown up and moved on. He hears the call of the Sea in Frodo’s voice and realizes it’s time. The ships have come to carry him home. And Elanor, standing on the shoreline, watches him vanish into the horizon.
Omg! Where have I been all these years. I did not realize Annie Lenox was the same artist who sang " Sweet dreams are made of this" amongst other songs of hers that I love from the "80s" My favorite movie " Lord of the Rings" is epic.. Not knowing Annie Lenox also sang "Into the West" This is a beautiful masterpiece. Every time I listen to it I get very emotional. "Love you Annie Lenox"
Frodo - "How do you pick up the threads of an old life? How do you go on? When, in your Heart, you begin to understand. There is no going back. There are some things that Time cannot mend. Some Hurts that go too deep. That have taken hold." There and Back Again... A Hobbits Tale, by Bilbo Baggins & The Lord of the Rings by Frodo Baggins
I listen to this song and think about my cat, who was 17.5 years old. He died on February 18. Before that, Alexei Navalny died in prison - all the conditions were created for this by the Kremlin. I also think about all those who died in this crazy war that my state started with the support or passive silence of the majority of my people, about my extremely uncertain future. I also remember all the good and bad that happened in my life, not related to the above. And I feel very bad at the same time and for some reason quietly happy, because in this song, in its words, I find a strange consolation in the fact that sooner or later any road ends, and someday my journey will also come to an end.
@@moonglow6639 He was a kind and good boy. And there was also a cat, she was 15 years old. She left in 2019. The pain of loss was not so acute because there was a cat-boy. Now none of them are there. Well, all this is the war between Russia and Ukraine, this ongoing horror, this madness. I am so ashamed of my country (Russia), of my people, this is a huge and heavy feeling of guilt...
My beautiful cat died March 6th... she was 18. My grief has become a force of nature that I cannot seem to overcome.... it feels like there's a hole in my soul and endless tears. You may not ever read this, but I'm sending love to you, kindred spirit. xoxo
Your words have meaning. We are all deeply connected to one another tho oceans apart. I wish I could say something to relieve the sorrow you express here. Perhaps tho, words aren't needed, just the acknowledgment of understanding. Thinking of you.
that's...heavy. I've wondered how many people have had this played at their funeral/memorial. Thinking of it myself. Especially at this time of year. 🎄😞💔
As indeed each of us might not. It has become my anthem of each evening as well. Impermanence is our fate, no matter how much we may yearn for something more. This song will be one of two played at my memorial.
@@johncontreras8094 I play Bob Ross videos at bedtime lol... his voice is so light and soothing and somehow reassuring...the swish of brush on canvas...tap of the knife on pallete...ASMR before it was a thing. Insomnia sucks. 😞😳
Damn, Annie. You really know how to end amazing movies. I remember repeating Love Song From A Vampire after Bram Stoker's Dracula like I'm repeating this.
Good Night Secret Garden Born of faith, of care, and the skies, In every flower, a faithful love lies. They transform souls, touching hearts, Guiding us to God, where all life starts. May they continue to bloom in splendor, Showing all the divine love so tender. For in the paradise that is yet to be, These flowers will reign, eternally free. May the garden forever be a beacon bright, Inviting others to God's radiant light, To the Lord of life, of sky, and sea, God, the Creator, who makes us bloom and be.
I’ll never forget going to the movie theaters Saying myself man this is gonna be the last lord of the rings boo-hoo and then this song started playing at the end credits and I immediately went into tears I was like no really is going
I think of my 10 year old cat Jinja. He died of an unknown illness I think to do with his heart. He passed at the vet and I wish I had been there for him but I know he's at peace. This song says everything.
If you don't think that Liv Tyler's performance when she's looking back in Return of the King, then you have no soul. I mean this literally. Tell me why that's not the most moment in film history?, ,,😁💚🍀☘️💚🍀

r.i.p. Bruno, till we meet again
Bruno is a good boy ❤ rip
That is just beautiful. I'm so sorry for your loss.
This is still one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.
Definitely one of them
Listen to Hans Zimmer Gladiator, live version, that's a good one to
Unreal ❤
Upon recently loosing my wife, this song has taken on a special meaning to me
I’m so sorry friend
I’ve lost many people I love…they are guiding us through life with love and always helping us to appreciate the time we have to help others
RIP 😞
I'm so sorry for you
Farewell Bernard Hill, you journey now to green fields under a swift sunrise where your fathers wait for you, and you shall not feel ashamed.

I'm so sad about your loss and wish U all the best for the future. Be strong! And it was a very good choice of music. Best wishes.

Beautiful yet sad song. I think we all have someone on our minds when we hear this.
Ever since I first read the books 25 years ago, I had one role model in my life. Aragorn.
"this is a good sword."

Agreed
This song helped my father through prescription methadone withdrawal, its a part of me as my soul is now

I have similar associations when I hear this song. I can't help but cry every single time I hear it. I still miss my cat too. :)

This song really feels like the end of a really hard journey! It calms me so much!
As much as I liked "The Last Goodbye", nothing can top this song.
I listen to this song everyday i have anxiety and it relaxes me ❤❤❤
This is my funeral song
My dad is 87 and he recently told me he wants this playing at his funeral.
Annie's voice is so pure...I imagine her voice is the Eve's voice..mother of all humans...
I think you're right. Especially when she sings on the horizon.
Que talentosa Annie!! Y Howard un genio!! El tema te atraviesa el espíritu y te traslada 20 años atrás cuando fuimos felices en la tierra media❤❤❤

Hands down for me the greatest song of all time. Every.Single.Word, has deep meaning.
