The 3.0 Caterpillar built turbo diesel engine was a hotbed of problems, the injectors would mysteriously weld themselves to the engine and snap when removed requiring costly replacement, and cambelts would fail effectively rendering the engine scrap when they did.
Did the airbags deploy? My 98 Trooper hydroplaned on some slushy ice and struck a pole, airbags didn't deploy, but the ABS was pulsing the whole time, just no traction at all before impact.
@@jC-kc4si Yes, the did. first car I've had with airbags. Both cars were write-offs. My Jack and a Mazda 3. But both did their jobs of saving the driver.
Hello, friends, please tell me, is the Automatic transmission (automatic transmission) not reliable at all in 1999? I am interested in durability, as I was told, the automatic transmission is rather weak .... Please answer me 🙋♂🙋♂🙋♂🙋♂🙋♂🙋♂
To each its own. I have owned both Isuzu Bighorn and Mitsubishi Pajero, and Isuzu takes the cake in refinement. Pajero is good too but Bighorn is a bit more comfy.
Solid car, used to see alot of these around as a kid.
Nowadays everyone tries to avoid the 3.0 Caterpillar engine and find a 3.1

I just totaled my 98 Jackaroo ion a head-on. Walked away with a sore neck. Bloody good 4WD. it won't be my first Isuzu.

Isuzu is known for bad suspension and stability cars. You don't buy an engine you buy a whole car. Pajero is superior to this shit.
