That would be great for traveling. For the price I will have to pick up one for myself as well. The fact that it uses AA batteries is a huge selling point for myself..

Hey! would you recommend it for portraits? indoor and dusk lighting? How far is the throw? Do you like the shape of the catch light?

No. I’m not saying it can’t be used for any of those things but there’s just no way I would. It’s more of a supplemental video light. The bulbs are easily visible, it’s a square catch light, and the throw is a few meters. But I find it very useful for macro photography, lightweight option while on the go, and other miscellaneous reasons.
