FOCUSED C5: What is in the foreground and background?

This animation video belongs to a series of 42 animations showcasing the seven dice of the “Staying F.O.C.U.S.E.D.” framework. Each set of six (6) animations represents a core theme of the seven (7) dice framework and provides a deeper explanation of what the items means to guide you through the process of dealing with complex unsolved problems, issues and challenges. Invented in 2009 by Dr. Robert WRIGHT (a multi-award winning strategy professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University), this pedagogical innovation is designed to help open up the alternatives when dealing with complex unsolved problems, issues and challenges.

The FOCUSED framework is not just a problem-solving tool, but also a problem-setting tool. It is not just a thinking tool, but a thinking, feeling and acting tool. It is not just a creativity tool, but a tool designed to open yourselves to “otherness”: other forms of reasoning, other forms of logics, other forms of explanations and to other ways of knowing. The FOCUSED framework is also about “learning to (un)learn”. By using this framework, you will learn BETTER, learn FASTER and learn MORE than you are used to.
These 42 animations are part of a $HK9.7M FOCUSED Project and generously funded by the University Grants Committee (UGC) of the Hong Kong Government.
