I’d be very intrigued if nascar let each manufacturer choose it’s own type of engine to run (classic V8 or V8 hybrid, or whatever else)… But sadly it’s nascar, they won’t allow fun stuff like that.

as long as nascar keeps the 358 cubic inch naturally aspirated pushrod v8 with a hybrid system i don’t mind. cadillac executed really well with their hypercar, but at the same time im really worried about the future of nascar, if it’s not a hybrid pushrod v8 i don’t want it.
Well, you can just forget about the pushrods. They're soon to be gone. OEM's who have been talking to NASCAR about joining, have said that's a "deal breaker". And while they're at it, get rid of that dumb round steering "wheel" and those damn mechanical valve springs. If it weren't for the France family propping it up, NASCAR would already be gone!! My grandson calls NASCAR "Chariot Racing". Antiquated. People have too many other (and better) options when it comes to racing. Just let the teams build whatever kind of ICE they want with a standardized MGU and enforce a BOP.
Unrelated but the old layout of riverside from 1955-1968 is not in nr2003 sadly we have 1970 but not that layout. I was 50/50 on this but hearing that imsa car changed my opinion that is glorious
There is one problem, with hybrid technology sport will become even more expensive. Sport Car with hybrid it's ridiculous. Not because it's bad. But because as it's with f1 it will make sport unaffordable for any private party. So.. We moving in "it's a rich people game" Play field?
Ok the thundering v8 gas engine is pure American but hear me out the switch would be cool to see on how they sound and how long the cars can go before a pit stop. Nascar in the future will probably make a switch to hybrid/electric to die in with the rest of the car world. Plus if race teams don’t have to change a battery often it could cost them less money. And also maybe the hp will go up.

They aren't going to go electric. Going hybrid is not the same thing as going electric.
