    Love your videos. They are real, honest and funny with great tips. New subscribers here. I took a 5 week car camping trip from Texas to Yellowstone over to Portland Oregon up to the western coast of Washington and all the way down Highway #1 to the tip of California and back to San Antonio, Texas. Car camped in my Lexus RX 350. Traveled with my little shihtzu, Rufus. There’s just nothing like the freedom car camping provides.

    You could just set up your spreadsheet in columns and put your expenses in the appropriate column. Also, you could have it keeping a running total so you know where you’re at during the trip. Or an envelope system may work for budgeting for food or entertainment so you only have X amount to spend for a category. Good job!!!

    Cafe du Monde is the absolute best! There is another place in New Orleans called Louisiana Pizza Kitchen that makes the best calzones I have ever had and I am not young:P. The crust is flaky sort of like a croissant versus the general doughy ones. Oh my gosh my mouth is watering. I just found your channel last week and I am enjoying your personality. I am looking into buying a school bus and turning it into a skoolie. I think the ability to downsize and minimize expenses would be a complete blessing.

      @@travelsnacks everyone wishes YOU would cut the longggg intros. It's quite rude to have a clickbait title, then go on...and on...about other things. THEN your viewers have to FF to what your title is about! I have unsubbed from many channels because creators take 5 minutes or longer to even get to the point of their video. One recent eyeliner tutorial headlined an expert way to do winged eyeliner. Then the creator sat there for 6 minutes pulling various eyeliners out of her bag, explaining why she liked or didn't like each one. Someone had to post a comment telling us to FF to a certain minute to get the tutorial, and everyone thanked her.

    These kinds of videos are so valuable! You really do give a true inside look on what it’s like when you’re not super cheap with yourself, yet you still try to budget when possible. I’m like this too!
    I think the challenge for me would be the fast food... I really do try to avoid it mainly bc of health reasons but also bc its so expensive! I’d be curious to know if you have considered getting one of those portable stoves (is it possible to have electrical outlets in your car)? But I guess a refrigerator would be necessary.. what are your thoughts?

    • @travelsnacks
      @travelsnacks  4 года назад +1

      Thank you, I'm glad you found this helpful!
      I thought about getting a portable stove for the car but because it's such a tight/confined area I didn't feel comfortable trying that with an open flame in the car. If you have a little table you could cook outside but if you are in a city, or parking lot or in a residential area around houses it might be weird. If you are off the beaten path that would be totally fine. But yes, you would pretty much still need to either have a cooler (buying ice fairly frequently) or buy your food daily. Hope this helps!!

      You can also use Excel, if you have a Microsoft plug. Or there's a free version (not Excel but a "faux" version that works just as well). You can use formulas to add things from one workbook page to another. But this is waaay more complex.

    I like squezzing the hair off a Washinton dollar. Fast food is the most expensive food around, plus the most unhealthyy. Try cooking your own food more often. Gas will always be the most expensive. I put money down on an Elio (50 mpg city, 80 mpg highway). My present car (2000 Escort, 35 mpg) I'm still working on so I may go on a "snowbird tour" of the southwestern states. C ya round.
