I think maybe the simplest thing for the privacy curtain is to put another small curtain right above it. I like your channel. You seem genuine in your videos. Careful with your thumbnails though. Stay safe out there.
I actually fixed it already! I took the wire hanger down and replaced it with eye hooks and a bungee. It's working much better now!

You did a great job But.....you might want to think about an enclosing those batteries, and make sure there is enough ventilation for them, and the inverter. It should have an internal fan but without ventilation it will not help much. I work with them for a living so i just want to keep you safe. Remember, the more power you use the warmer your whole setup will get, especially during summer. I think the van is great, i could live in it comfortably myself with how you have it set up. If you are ever in PA near Hershey Park give me a shout, i can tell or show you some fun places to visit!

Suggest: velcro tab (hook side) near the privacy curtain wire, attached between the two cabinets, onto the black trim right where the ?screw? is. Then, on the hem/rod sleeve of the curtain, at the midpoint of the curtain, place the loop side of the velcro. Then when privacy is wanted, pull curtain and velcro up the saggy bit.

Ok, now i can back track and watch what I skipped. Had to watch start to finish of your van build. Very inspiring. My nest has been empty for awhile, my grandkids come and go, but i long to hit the road and be in a comfortable home while i go look for myself. Thank you for sharing. Having driven trucks with sleepers and sleeping at truck stops, I've had some experience before retirement. For heat there are diesel parking heaters, have your parking heater powered by a house battery isolated from the starting battery so if you run the house battery down you don't find yourself stranded. Solar panels and a jackery or goal zero will keep a chest compressor refrigerator running. A jet boil or sterno inferno gives boiling water for instant soup, mush, or hot beverage.

You may want to try gorilla puddy or marine puddy to keep things in place such as handsoap or your plant. It won't hurt your countertop
Was listening to NPR on the way home yesterday, and they were discussing diversification regarding tapping of various tree species for syrup. Seems NH is now putting the ancient Native People’s ways to market. Though still a nice at this point, I do recall the deliciousness of it when I was a child, and loved it in a soda format. What is it? Birch sap......yields Birch Syrup (yum pancakes drool), for cooking, and my lifelong love in Birch Beer (actually a soda). Yum!

I have a 1996 Chevy Express with a turtle top. My vans name is Marceline. She's named after my aunt Marce who had a white van as well and traveled the nation in it several times.

Looks good! Efficient use of space, not too cluttered, you can stand, cook, and most importantly you can go potty without leaving the van. On no wind days you can slowly finish painting.
Love your van life, Your video's are great, Only found you yesterday but loving your channel. We are doing a van conversion in a couple of years when my Husband retires, so we shall be off out enjoying life just the same as yourself. Gods love and Blessings on your Journey.

I think you did a great job on it and utilizing your space. But what I worry about is the dark colors making your space seem smaller than it is. In the car all the black colors provided camouflage but now that your privacy curtain does it's job you can lighten up your living space to normal shades. Also... living in a dark space can affect your mood. Just like seasonal mood disorder where people are told to expose themselves to more sunlight or use bright lamps indoors. Hope your family issues resolve peacefully. Take care Allison 🙂 and enjoy the journey.
While grocery shopping....saw and remembered a soda that I believe is local. Moxie. It was made with sugar cane at one time (tasted better), but now it has corn syrup. The curse of living in the USA. But, it would make for a fun taste test. Tastes awesome as an adult. Tastes like medicine to a child. :)

Very interested in how your refrigerator works and how well it works for you. Power usage etc.
My mom had that same type of van and the side doors will open wider if you want them to. There’s a hinge that can be pulled forward when the door is not completely open, that will allow the doors to open almost all the way. If you would like to message me I could probably describe it a little better detail.
