1. Eat full, healthy meal. 2. Remove restriction. 3. Practice mindful eating. 4. Make room for self-care. 5. Find other ways to cope with your emotions. - Meditation. - Journaling. 6. Make a list of activities that bring you joy.
Just want to point out that emotional eating is also a thing for positive emotions. Like when you're proud of an accomplishment treating yourself with some unhealthy/comfort food, or when you're extatic or excited about something (or without reason) eating to calm yourself down. Eating as a celebration. Stuff like that can be (but are not always though!) just as unhealthy as emotional eating, for unhappy emotions or boredom. I think it would be interesting to hear your take on this!
I totally agree ! I usually reward myself for something that i achieved but was very difficult (emotionnally, physically or mentally) with Food, Wether i am hungry or not (so even if i have raspberries... when you do not need to eat it is still overeating). I am slowly getting out of that mindset but it not that easy to find other ways to reward myself :p )
I used food to essentially self medicate very bad depression for a while, it got to the point where I could not stop eating constantly because it was literally the only time I could feel any positive emotion. If you are depressed please get help to treat the depression and save your self from the food addiction. It may feel like there is no point in trying to get better from depression if you feel like you have no hope of being happy again, but please, I have been there and I promise you can and will feel happiness again in your life. please tell someone what you are going through and ask them to help you get therapy, exercise, whatever you need and don't give up hope!
Totally agree with you I dealt with some stressful period myself, my food habits were messed up and I'm glad I found her channel, people with chronic stress coping with food for comfort can get massive help by mindful eating.
Thanks for the tips and saying sometimes emotional eating is ok too. We eat to celebrate events- and as you have said we eat for more than just physical hunger. 😌
Such great info as usual. I recently started feeling emotional hunger due to stress but luckily for me I don’t keep junk or sweets around, I buy them once in a while so I couldn’t indulge but I started eating Greek yogurt and even though I was eating Greek yogurt so late at night. One thing I noticed was I wasn’t walking up feeling like crap which is how I would feel if I ate a ton of popcorn or potato chips during emotional eating. I also found making some decaf tea with milk soothe me and put me to sleep when I felt emotional hunger due to stress. Really arming yourself with the right tools and finding what tools work for you really helps. Great tips in this video.
SO helpful!!! i love that every video you post comes to me when i need it the most hahaha. It would be great if you could do more videos about emotional eating, maybe an emotional eating series🤔 since it is something that concerns a lot of people!! and even more during pandemic times! love your channel sm❤️
New subscriber from the US, and I am just loving your videos. I have learned soo much, and it has inspired our family to eat more French meals. I have been implementing a ton of the points you've listed in the Why French Women series etc and feeling soo much better about food and feel better health-wise. Thank you! 😁
Please get out of my head 🙃😂 but seriously, thank you this is super helpful as always and very timely seeing as it's been a crazy week at work! HAPPY FRIDAY

Do you know that if your insulin remains low and you are not inflamed, you will never get fat regardless of how much you eat?
I want to know if this is true
@@eudora760 Yes, Dr Ben Bikman showed that excess calories are not stored as fat if your glucagon levels are high compared to insulin.
@@mightyPavan2010 woah. thx!
IDK how people eat when they’re emotional tbh. Whenever I’m emotional I feel the need to forget all things, including food.
