Between you and Kevin, you guys built a wicked system!!!
Great video! Got gifted one of those compressors from a neighbor and it had the switch attached to the line. Going to rebuild it to your spec as it looks much stronger. And a simple yet effective 4 tire hose setup. Thanks!
Hey thank you! I appreciate that. Enjoy the build!
best way to add the pressure safety, thank you! I'm using the 2nd reducing bushing to keep the factory tail & connector; that' how I have setup all my extension hoses.
Nice work!!
I made a 4 four wheel inflator/ deflator many years ago. I used a pressure regulator just before splitting off to the tires. I valved the splits off and set the pressure I wanted to inflate to, then opened the valves. I could inflate to where I wanted without having to monitor it.
Nice! That's awesome!
Thanks! Newbie and just getting started. This will go in my library!
Love it! I had a blast building mine - and it’s really super easy 🤠
I fixed my car and my wife’s car with this video. Thank you so much! We can afford to go on vacation now!
Incredible. Enjoy your vacation sir 🤣
How did you fix a car with a compressor mod?
His secondary air injection pump went out and he rigged this to work in replacement. Pretty cool stuff!
Nice job, brother! The 🐐🐐🐐!!!
No u
AWESOME brother!!! That is some nice inspiration you got there!
Thanks homie! Appreciate ya!
This is brilliant! Look forward to seeing more videos.
I appreciate the support!
i have a smittybilt air compressor with a janky fitting, i need to get that replaced with more standard connections. Thanks for this vid
Ooo that’s gonna be a great upgrade! Appreciate the comment!
Awesome! Looking forward to the next one 😀
Thanks homie! Same! 🤠
Instead of just a pressure switch you can buy a combination pressure switch/ unloader valve so that the compressor doesn't start under load, which I'm sure is why a lot of compressors tell you to have the compressor running before hooking to the tires. The unloader switch is bulkier but will help the compressor live longer
Great video! This is on my list
Thank you! Good luck! 👍🏼
Awesome video, exactly what I was looking to do since I dont have the tools (or desire) to do the in-line drill solution for the pressure switch a lot of others have done. Do you mind sharing what lengths you cut the hose for each section?
I based my lengths off of the video referenced! If I recall correctly, he has a basic formula for calculating lengths from your wheelbase
“Doesn’t look like the nipples I’m used too” 😂😂😂
😁😁
Awesome! I’ll likely do this to my other compressor! Thanks for sharing.
For sure! The principle should be the same - splicing the pressure switch in between the on/off switch and the circuit board.
I should have mentioned it in the video that the pressure switch just works by cutting continuity when the upper pressure is met, and restoring continuity when the pressure is relieved. Super simple and great!
Hell yeah I just put some STT Pros on my 100 series LC
They’re too dang good 👏🏼
Good job bro!!!!
Thanks homie 🤠
That pressure cutoff switch is great. Wondering if I’d be able to do the same thing with the viair 400p, mistakenly bought the non-automatic one and have been too lazy to return it 😅
You sure can! Just find the wire from the on/off switch to the circuit board and splice it in. I’ve heard of people doing it on others. Do it!
Great video! Keep them coming👊🏼 #NINE8LC
Thanks man!! Much appreciated!
Hey I appreciate the video and links for the parts! I'm going to build one myself. Do you have a link for that nice valve on the manifold?
I appreciate the support!
Good catch - I completely forgot to add it! Thank you for pointing that out. I have added the link to the description and copied it below!

👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I saw in another video that the positive leads on their pump had wire strands pocking through the heat shrink ... I just picked up one of these and pulled the cover to find the very same. I would advise this to anyone before using to check these wire leads and re-wrap if necessary. NAPA needs to require the manufacturer to better their QC.
Yup, that’s the video I referenced. You don’t get better QC at $114 a compressor unfortunately! Lol
Thanks for the video and great you gave credit to Kevin as well! I just purchased this compressor and seems to be awesome for the price we'll have wait on longevity. I am interested on the pressure switch, but I am not too sure if it is healthy for the compressor due to its design as it will pressurize the heads and seals while on standby. Not an expert on the subject, but is just an idea! Any opinion or anything that you might know about it? Thanks again!!
I appreciate the kind words! Thank you! Ideally you will only have the compressor pressurized momentarily. As soon as you disconnect the air hose it will relieve pressure. It is very normal for compressors to build pressure and hold it, such as in a shop situation with a larger compressor, so I doubt it will make a large impact on the lifespan of the compressor.
Where did you purchase, do they have more? I'd buy one from you they are sold out here
I saw Kevin's video before yours, but I really appreciate some of the tips you gave. Like the Napa rewards, as I was able to order one under $100, tax included. One thing I can't decided on is the pressure gauge. Should I get a digital or analog one?
I appreciate that! Kevin’s video is awesome. Nice work on getting a good deal!
I have an ARB digital tire inflator and it’s been great for the year or two I’ve owned it. My logic for getting analog is that it will always work. Never have to worry about batteries or anything weird. If you’re not out in the boonies frequently I’d go digital. Otherwise, analog is the safest bet!
OVERLAND!
WOOOOO
What size wire did you use to connect to the air pressure switch?
I believe a 16 gauge? It’s not super crucial to be a thick wire as it’s just a signal wire to switch the compressor on or off. It intercepts the factory wiring - so you can match that!
More vids please!
You betcha!!
Hi may i ask why when i do mine the pressure switch doesn't work at all i have tried different switch but i dont have a good luck, any reason why it doesnt work for me? :(
Are you certain your wiring is correct? I’d double check that!
How much did you cost for the 4way inflator?
Cost was around $100, give or a take a bit. I purchased other items at the same time. I did link every item in the description so you can add them all up on Amazon!
Is the small Red wire going into the motor a thermal overload?
Unfortunately I am not familiar with the circuitry beyond where to intercept for the pressure switch!
@@LexusOverland I found that it is a thermal overload switch.
Nice! Good find!
What is the range of that pressure switch?
It’s a 90-120 psi switch - it’ll shut off the compressor as soon as it hits 120 psi, and when you open the air valve it immediately kicks back on as the pressure drops below 90. Works perfectly and 120 psi does not seem to stress the system at all. You could purchase lower psi pressure switches if you’d like!
@@LexusOverland Thanks. I just ordered the exact same compressor, being delivered in 1 week. I'm doing the same upgrades you are, so thank you.
Hey that’s awesome! Good luck! I’m happy I could help!
I am looking to hard mount this compressor. Can it be ran on its side?
I believe you are able to mount it in any orientation because it is an oil-less compressor!
CACHUNK!
The air output on mine isn't 1/8,bigger but not 1/4 either
Reported this for porn.
Awesome job there brother.
Aww shucks 😁
Man I can't find these anywhere, every NAPA IS sold out of them, even online😟
Yeahhh apparently they’re completely sold out. The awning did come back after being sold out forever so maybe the compressors will too!
@@LexusOverland Bro thanks I went online and finally got that awning It's been missing out of stock for months
Hell yeah!! That’s awesome 👏🏼
Does it have VTECH?
… yes, yo 🤪
Would have been nice to see the actual modification of the pressure switch connection under to cover
I bet it would be - which is why I linked to a video that shows it 👍🏼
@@LexusOverland thanks, did not see that, thought you said he showed this on instatwat, did not hear RUclips
@@mrmotofy I did do the modification lol
@@mrmotofy actually did it myself and it works great. The instructions were clear and concise
"haus"
Hoss 😉
why can't i see lors coment
Must be a cool kid sorry
LETS GOOO!!!! First dislike!!!!
I live on haterade, bring it 🤣
What size pinch clamps did you use out of the set? Thanks.
I’m traveling for the holidays so I won’t be able to check the dimensions for a bit. But I used the clamps that just fit over the hoses. There were enough in the kit to do all the clamping I needed!
What size pinch clamps did you use ?
I can’t recall the exact size, but the kit I purchased had a clamp that was just a little larger than the outer diameter of the hose I used. Worked like a charm!
