- I was looking up gardens to visit in Michigan on Google and found an Iris farm that is literally down the road from my folk's house in northern Michigan. I called my Dad and told him what I discovered. "Oh ...the Centennial farm? That's a beautiful place. You'll love it there. Why don't we plan to visit. I'll drive by and let you know when the flowers are blooming."
The images from this video are from that visit a few years ago. What a magical place!
My Dad died this past June 2022 and pulling the images together for this video, made me miss him. I hope you enjoy the visit to the Traverse City Iris farm.
My Dad was right. It's a beautiful place!

Thank You
Sue, what a beautiful iris display. Thanks for sharing this lovely space and a sweet memory of a wonderful day with your parents. Makes me appreciate my mom's and mother-in-law's collections even more, and now I want to expand my own. I recall my mom used to announce each day how many blooms she had deadheaded that day off her irises. Don't you just love how these gardens bring forward times we have spent with each other appreciating flowers, plants and design? Well done.
Thanks so much Jo-Ann.
I’m sorry for the loss of your father, always very hard saying goodbye to them. I would say it gets easier, and it does but I STILL miss both of my parents. ❄️💚🙃
Thanks for your note. I can understand missing them.
I love watching what other people do in their gardens and mostly we learn from one another 🥰 wonderful video Sue 🥰
Thanks so much!

Thank you and thanks for watching the video.
Stunningly beautiful ❤
Oh my, I live in SW Michigan and have never heard of the Iris farm. It might be worth the trip up north. ❄️💚🙃
It's worth a visit for sure. It's a beautiful place.
Lovely, thanks so much for sharing 😊❤️
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
Hello! What a soothing and informative video. I saw you on Soil and Margaritas and knew immediately that I wanted to join your channel. That Bumblebee’s Delight is so beautiful and fun! Thank you. Peace-
Thank you. I love that Bumblebee's Delight iris too.
Love it, thanks for adding the iris names! some of them seem to be so blue! I want them all...
The iris were so pretty. They are just great flowers.
This was lovely, thank you!
Thank you.
I'm a new subscriber. I love your beautiful garden. I can't wait to get my own place so I can go HAM on gardening :P
Thanks for being here.
When did you go there? Everything I can find shows this place to be closed down.... Phones disconnected. Obviously it's a seasonal place.
Hi. I haven't been there since before the pandemic. I noticed that google maps said it was temporarily closed. I assumed it was because it is winter. I hope they are still open. I will try to talk to someone up north.
Someone purchased it and turned it into an Airbnb rental.
@@Brodmann312 No way! Are the iris still there? What a bummer. I wanted to return this June.
Do you know if they sell online? ❄️💚🙃
From what I understand, they do not have a website, but you can call them to order iris rhizomes. They ship them out in Fall which is the best time to plant them up in your garden.
Unfortunately the farm has been sold and the Iris's are gone. I think the people that bought it are going to make a Air BnB out of it from what I heard they didn't realize how much work the gardens would be. The previous owners closed during covid and never opened back up its a sad drive past everyday remembering what was.
Such a bummer. I have such wonderful memories of this place. Especially now that my Dad died this past June 2022. He had such a great time taking me there.
