Amazing that you posted this video. My pool company didn’t do anything with my floor cleaning system when they opened my pool and left the parts just laying around. Now I can finish the opening!
Wasted half a day trying to get my Actuator put back together before I found your video... Thank you so much for posting this - back together and running better than ever in 10 minutes!
Thanks for the video - my pop ups were not cycling so I took it apart and the #2 gear in each set had worn teeth on the bottom that were not mating up with the lower gear so since the #1 gear (from outside towards middle) bottom teeth do not connect to any other gear I remove them and swapped positions. Now all gears that mate are contacting. To replace it is critical that the bottom foot is removed from the rest of the unit. I had the same issue replacing the two washers, so I removed the clips on the top gear on each side, removed it and washers just slipped in place and replaced those gears and lock washer. Slipped it all back together and now going through the initiation phase to remove air from the system. All pop ups now working normal. Took about an hour to remove and swap gear but did not need any parts. #magnasweep 8 years old and now running good as new. **Told the wife I could fix myself - LOL
Thank you for posting this video, it was helpful. I watched it two times, when my rebuild kit arrived today, was able to install it in minutes. Especially helpful were the parts on testing the actuator manually and the two small washers to install. 👍👍👍
Excellent video, thank you. I'll likely end up having to do this even tho I'm a novice pool owner. The issue with mine is, the impeller will get stuck when changing zones... But when I take the top off and spin it with my fingers, the whole kaboodle spins JUST FINE! The impeller, the gears, just whirr right along! The minute I put the lid back and turn on the pump, water whooshes in, it spins really hard for a few minutes, then boom: impeller stops, filter pressure rises about 3 psi, no pop ups in the pool, and the water in the pump lowers (not sure why that would be, but happens each time). I fully cleaned the DE filter, even had a tech out: stumped. I'm at a loss as to why this happens, it drives me nuts.
I have one of these and none that we can see are broken but the ones in the pools don't all pop up. The pool did sit for a few years dry before getting it up and running again. My pool guys still says he thinks it is my filters, but I just cleaned them. We replaced the gear thingy because it was broken. It spins in there but we think that there is a circulation problem. Since not all of the popups pop up. We are going to buy the popups a bit at a time since they are pricy. We have the Caretaker 99 popups that were popped out of their sockets. We will be ordering the removal tool. any tips?
Once you get the tool to remove the pop-ups. Check each one carefully to make sure they are free. I know thery are outrageously expensive. There really is not much to them. You might want to get new "O" rings for them since you will have them out. Good luck!
Excellent lesson, very educational and helpful. Thank you so very much!

Thank you so much man I couldn't figure out that I had to take the bottom part off before I put it back in!

You’re welcome. Glad you found it helpful.
Thank you. I did not know that bottom piece unsnapped and wasted a good couple of hours until I watched your video. You da man.

@@InitechAuto Thank you for your reply. When you say "O" rings, what are you referring to please?
@@AliceColtharpDean For the pop-ups if you have them. My pop-ups had "O" rings. (Rubber Seals)
@@InitechAuto The bayonettes do not seem to have o rings. When we get down into the water to pull them out, we will look closer.
@@AliceColtharpDean Then you should be fine.
Hello, I watched your video, but water is not filling the actuator?
Is the pump running?
@@InitechAuto lol he turned on the pump and forgot to reply
I have the exact same as shown. Where do I order these parts and part numbers. Thanks
