- Eyup everyone,
Really excited to bring you this video. I took a trip over to Shak at Lowndes Street Garage to get a resonator delete fitted to my 2015 Volkswagen Golf R. The noise is much throatier and deeper than standard, just what it needed.

Getting a golf r this year and that's the first thing I'll be doing sounds awesome
Thanks buddy, you won't regret it. Getting something fitted tomorrow which should make a whole world of difference 😁
This sound crazy!! Deffo getting this done , top vid!!
Thanks man 👍
Spot on mate sounds loads better 👌
Thanks buddy. Yeah sounds a lot better, nice to hear a bit of noise coming from the car 😛
Nice 1 mate great video. I'm going to get mine done, who needs to spend ££££ on a akrapovic 👍
Exactly!
Great videos mate !!!
it's not fair how euro golf Rs always seem to pop and crackle, when the ones in the united states barely make any noise
@@MT-kx2uc ahh, that finally explains it. hello carbon buildup :-(
Yep, as M Klonge said we have dual injection, there's a noticeable sound difference with the newer cars that have a GPF fitted.
amazing sound!! What is the brand of your resonator delete? its a really good sound!
Thanks man. I believe it is ECS available from Lowndes Street Garage
Bolton born and bred and yes you’re right... it’s very interesting 😂
Hahaha, especially when I took a wrong turning... Didn't feel too good 😂
Were abouts in Leeds do you live? I am from Leeds too i live in Cookridge. 😎
Alright buddy, sounds great 👍 I’ve been in 2 minds wether to get a reamus exhaust or just get the res delete, I have the manual Golf R just wandered if u knew anyone that has had it done and if the sound is much better as well in a manual.
The sound sounds just as good in a manual mate, of course you don't have the DSG cracks, but other than that sounds mint 👍
JJB awesome!
WOW, ill now be doing that lol gettin a r600 intake too!!
That sounds awesome
Thanks man. Highly recommended
Sounds awful, sounds like an old school telephone
Hi mate your coding to the valves.. so do the valves open in race and close in eco? & I take it this is the standard exhaust with a res delete right?
Standard coding is as follows I believe
Eco - closed
Normal - closed up until 3.5k rpm
Race - open
Yeah standard exhaust with a resonator delete
@@JXLPerformance awesome! Picking my mk7 R up in a few days and this is one of the first things i wanna do. Im just very cautious about drone as i cannot stand that. I take it at 70mph it really isnt bad?
Nice one you'll love it 👍 I'd keep the valves closed then at 70mph you're just over 2krpm with virtually no drone
@@JXLPerformance cheers mate thats awesome. Just race mode to open them when I need! Either way better than stock and can always code the valves later
I have a 2016 golf R..can I put on a jb4
Sounds good Josh = )
Paul Glowacz Thanks Paul, definitely enjoying the noise more and more 😃
@@JXLPerformance Good to hear : )
Sounds good mate! Do you get any drone on the motorway etc?
Thanks buddy, there's a little bit of drone on the motorway past 3,000rpm. But sitting at 70 with the valves closed its absolutely fine
You said in another reply that your valves are coded open bud? Unless re coding them to work again to check how it sounds when closed then how would you know?? No malice there in my comment by the way as it Sounds a lot better than stock by the way, I’m just curious about the motorway drone though 🤔
You're right they were coded open but I wanted to remain usability of the valves so I coded them back in again. It does sound a lot nicer than stock with the Res delete & codes open. Not much motorway drone at 70 but as soon as you creep above there's a little drone but it's liveable
JJB thanks jjb, makes sense now 👍 definitely considering it with mine
Do it mate. You won't regret it
Is this a mk7 or mk7.5? And also did u have anything else done to ur car when u was getting the resanator deleted?
MK7 and nope, nothing else done except the resonator delete 👍
@@JXLPerformance and its a mk7 right
Hi, does this void the VW Warrantee?
It'll void the warranty relating to the exhaust and the exhaust only. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone claiming warranty on the exhaust though so it won't be an issue.
It has nothing to do with performance and that's not the sound it should have when new, imo. However its a cheap way to get a louder sound, although it comes with an unfortunate drone.
In the very slightest it would, purely because you're changing the dynamics of the air more favourable to flow than stock. Some people have reported terrible drone, I and a few other people dont get as much of it.
Whats the drone like on the motorway?
Little to no drone in Normal mode, there's a little bit of drone in Race mode
JJB good to know. I want to do this on my R, but was hesitant. I love the Jekyll and Hyde personality it has going from Normal to Race. Normal feels like I’m in a luxury car going down the freeway and race feels like a true hot hatch.
Did you tell insurance about res delete?
I did indeed
Any change in price?
Minimal, couple of quid mate
Sounds like a bag of spanners!
Thanks so much, it’s a quick bag of spanners 😛
Mot friendly?
It is indeed
does this effect to engine?
No effect to the engine, just the sound 👍
@@JXLPerformance thnx
6:30 nice
Thanks dude 👍🏼
@@JXLPerformance booked in for next Friday. Can’t wait 😜
Any reason you didn't use Tony banks ?
Personally had an issue the last time I used them 👍 plus Shak has a great reputation in the R groups
@@JXLPerformance I don't have an R, I've got a vrs245. But it needs the res delete. Just looking for the best person to do it
@@JXLPerformance just with you been from Leeds that's all pal, theres also keltec
Yeah mate heard good things about Keltec
@@JXLPerformance definitely needs doing, cheers anyway pal, I'll keep an eye out for your car if your out on the mean streets of Leeds 😂😂😂
Does it need mapping if deresonated?
Nope, doesn’t need mapping in, just get it fitted and away you go 👍🏼
JJB oh nice quick response! Cheers
Quick question, is the car still quiet in eco tho?
Thanks
No probs 😀 and yes it is, I have my exhaust valves coded open but it is quieter in eco/normal
JJB top man
