7 years old! Haha jelly vision set with a cup falling off the wall. I have watch this whacky bunch off and on for a bunch, and yet needed to know about this belt the past 14 years. I just finished my first full day and it’s the first time both legs felt nearly the same in movement and firing patterns, and for my left leg, pain free. So, in logic, I have been re-injuring myself everyday for all these years. I feel this belt with fuse all the work I have done thus far and the exercises I have kept as staples to prevent a full fall out of pain and righting off a day. Thanks guys for putting your expertise out there for us suckers fo find! It really helps to have a voice out there that can be found for people who really need a remedy and not having success with the numerous visits with professionals. Not saying anything to downer their work, I just mean, more information is the strategy of good investigation and some issues can be very difficult to pinpoint.

There are many ways to both relieve SI pain while improving function. I use the Feldenkrais method since it includes the brain in your body. Afterall, movement requires a brain
and I find neuroplastic brain functions give the patient the ability to learn their way out of pain.
To those who are Physical Therapists, many years ago I worked with Jeffrey Maitland in Australia. He closed his clinic for a time each year to allow his therapists to study with me.
I spent years with Beryl Kennedy who worked on the SI with electroneedlepoint insertions deep in the entire area,, John Basmajian (The author of muscles alive) was also using my
    ideas for research purposes.
Like most biomechanical issues, the SI treatments usually involve dull repetative routines. The Feldenkrais method upgrades the ability to overcome pain and have fun and maintain interest
through movement lessons that can be done in groups as well as privet sessions. The patient learns movement strategies that help the person recieving treatment to develop deep coordination.

I am a truck driver and get pain in the front of my iliac crest and have high tightness in my sacrum from sitting all day. I try twisting my trunk left and right to acquire a release of subluxation build-up sometimes it releases with a small pop but, most of the time it remains tight and stiff feeling.

@@katherlnem I started doing yoga specifically for tight hip flexors and focused on strengthening my posterior chain with exercises like hip thrusts and hypertensions. I am doing SO much better now. I will occasionally still get some pain if I do exercises like squats or if I sit for too long at work but I just avoid those kinds of movements and try to get up and walk around periodically to keep from getting tight.

If the pelvis is not aligned correctly, then using the belt will not help it realign. The belt may relieve the pain, but only because it is restricting movement through the SIJ. Surely making sure the SIJ is aligned first, before using the belt, would aid in the ligaments healing better?

  • @luiscerwin1465
    @luiscerwin1465 4 года назад

Thank you both for this! Wondering if you ever have clients who get numbness in the groin area after about 30 minutes of wearing the belt. I've noticed this even with low amounts of tension and am trying to figure out how to mitigate. Thanks for your consideration!

Thank you! Eric Goodman teaches how to incorporate you iliacus back into regular movement resulting in the same Fwd correction of the pelvis w/ belt. " Foundation Training". It definitely has helped. I could not stand when the pain presented. I seem to have an injury that has not healed. so I must keep up the movement practice he teaches. My X-rays showed a severely hooked tail bone. No one seems to be able to unhook it. I'm hopeful it will unwind/ unbind itself in time w/ the corrective exercises.

  • @richardnorrismd

Hey guys. Fun! But there are much better products out there than the SI-Loc. Have you tried the Boa by Top Shelf Orthopedics? The brace is also useful to sort out patients by category. If the belt increases the pain, the joint is out of alignment and an MET approach is used. If the belt relieves the pain, then it is probably best to not try things like joint mobs
or lumbar traction as it might cause the joint to shft out. For patients who are highly unstable and the SI can be confirmed as the pain generator, check out the (relatively) new mininally invasive SI stabilization procedures such as iFuse by SI-bone. While we all try to avoid surgery if possible, there are times that it may be necessary. And thanks for your fun videos!

Hi, thanks for the great info. I have been doing PT for about 2 months with only little improvement. I "aggravated" both joints, and now the pain goes down below my knees. I was wondering if long-term wear heals the joint completely? Did it work for you?

I have a question for you two ! I have Ehlers-danlos syndrome and have just finished 8 weeks of PT for SI Joint pain. Initially I was frequently out of alignment but that has improved tremendously. I am however still having terrible pain. I can do very little without aggravating the joint. Had xrays done, saw a sports medicine doc and he is confident the pain is just from the SI Joint. PT has said that I am as good as I can get with PT and I am now hoping that I can get injections ( which I don't really want steroids ) for some relief. I do have a belt that I wear but it only helps minimally I am doing maintenance PT now.. Do you have any advice for me ? I wish I lived closer and could be seen in your clinic. You guys are so knowledegable !

I believe I had pain in my piriformis for six months. I tried doing core exercises to strengthen the area, but I fear I damaged something more. The pain is different than the pain I felt with my piriformis. When I sit on a lacrosse ball, it doesn't hurt as bad. I have had to quit all running. I go walking infrequently. The pain persists. Is it possible I have an underlying SI issue, and that I may have had an SI issue all along? Thank you for your time! I enjoy your videos!
