Also will say it again. They should NOT have had the lip sync at the finale. They should have had it be the multi star challenge. Have the queens on a lip sync tournament and every win gives you a star. 1 queen would get 3, 1 would get 2 and two more would get one each. Then in the finale do a variety NOT a talent show where each queen brings her own act (showing what they actually do to entertain) and they are all judged on full portfolio. I like lip syncs but can we please stop making them so important? So many queens never do that kind of performance in their act.
I like what they did on season 14 , at the finale they each did their own performance,,, I agree with you that AS7 ended really bad (not the outcome, but the lip sync for the crown! ) it made zero sense!
Lip syncing for the crown needs to stop period. Because it just creates controversy (which is why they do it). I've personally never liked it since it started in S9. It makes no sense that a lip sync (that isn't even rotten) should make your performance all season a moot point because someone **at the end** can out stunt you or has better rhythm. It has led to queens who did not do better in the competition winning the title multiple times. And we know the track record matters to the fan base and Ru's decision. Of course Monet, Shea and Yvie won their lip syncs in the finale. But it makes WAY more sense in an all winners season especially, to grade on track record. They're all fan faves or have a following. So regardless of blocking, Jinkx had 6 challenge wins. It would be a tough sell to have queens that had 2-4 less wins beat her. I would have preferred a S7/S8 thing when they do their own performance, and it have no real bearing on who should win, because... report card. And we get to see former queens be great performing the songs they want, their way. They also shouldn't have had a lip sync for the crown because they knew from who they cast that most of the cast are not "electrifying" lip syncers. Shea, Monet and Yvie (along with Sonique and you could possibly add Bob) are the only winners who are great at it...in the entire American franchise. You could either edit the final lip syncs to death...or don't say a lip sync is the condition to win. If they would have went by win totals they would have had a clear top three of Trinity, Monet and Jinkx. The twist could have been that those three vote for the fourth queen to be in the finale. They can either be "fair" and give to Viv (because beside her everyone but Yvie had two stars from wins). Or they could strategize and put someone in the top four with them that wouldn't be a good contender for the crown, not only because of track record. But maybe they also aren't known for their performances. Or there be a lollaparuza for fourth. Because with two lip sync battles we have the fifth place queen winning money, but 2 & 3 finalists get nothing.
@@casswashwash1070 Only because of blocks though. If you go by who won the challenges and ignore blocking stars and ignore the stars that were given to them for basically free (not for winning challenges) Jinx was the clear front runner.
Not the point, just give the 50k to the girl who actually won the lypsinc which is Yvie, also, as Yvie has been so ignored this whole season it would’ve actually been nice to see her dominate in what she’s so recognized for which is lypsincing
One thing about Jaida'a legendary legend look: I think she deserves more credit for knowing how to hard with that kinda of fabric. Of course the fabric was the best part of the look, bou working big sequins like that is really hard. And those intricate cut outs are even harder to make on that fabric. If Raja went too far and did too many things, Jaida knew how to make just enough, but still had a lot of skill involved.
Exactly. I don't get this "if it weren't for the fabric it would be plain" attitude. If Jaida had a different fabric then she would have made something different
Agreed, the people who claim the fabric carried her outfit have clearly never touched a sewing machine in their lives. It's so clear how well made that outfit is, she thoroughly deserved to win for it.
Also, the fabric isn’t doing all the work in the look. The silhouette is fantastic, the styling is fantastic (that wig,,,, girl), the hip cutouts are a really smart way of bringing an extra element to the design without pushing the silhouette too far, and then there’s the little shrug to add just that one extra element. She could walk down a The Blonds runway in this look and no one would bat an eye.
it's kind of crazy that you use the fabric that Jaida used (which is reminiscent of the fabric from RuPaul's original look) to justify you not putting the look in your top 2. Designing looks (which is this challenge) does involve fabric choice and I think saying "if you chose any other fabric it wouldn't look as good" applies to literally any garment because... fabric choice is key when designing a look so if anything she gets extra points for choosing such a smart fabric that carries a more simplistic look. Not to mention that Shea's look, in comparison, looked incomplete and could've been made better with a smarter fabric choice for the leggings.
Agreed! Not to mention, that fabric is extremely hard to work with, so to create the level of detailed look she did with that particular fabric is actually very impressive, not less so
I agree but likewise I think they screwed over Shea by not giving her fabric with the cheetah print pattern and her having to spend time making it herself. I am a costume designer and I agree that Jade is fabric isn’t easy to work with and she gets points for that but also that’s some fucking bullshit for shea’s, she probably had to spend an hour or two painting and waiting it for it to dry. Like it sounds easy just spray paint the fabric and put some splotches on it but from personal experience painting fabric it fucking sucks and takes forever!
Yea, he puts Shea higher than where I’d put her more often than not. I love Shea but I agree with her when she admitted she was fading into the background.
I loved Vivienne’s snatch game. I’ve seen other British people also say similar. I think Viv choose characters that aren’t well known to an American audience
idk if this is just my perspective but i don’t think her catherine tate was really catherine tate :/ both her characters just seemed overly stereotypically british to garner laughter from a less itk american audience
@@georgemcgukin5576 yeah I honestly think it was the fact her characters were both so British that they didn’t go over so well with the mostly American audience. As a British person though I will say her impressions were scarily good on both of her characters.
i think it was probably due to their filming time, since it was some time during 2021. covid was really bad still and many people were still unvaxxed, so they probably didn't wanna contribute to it (either for morality reasons or the potential for bad PR from it)
I think it’s fine and dandy to say that if Jaida had a different fabric, no one would care… but she didn’t have a different fabric, she had the fabric she used, so I don’t think the critique of “if this was hugely different no one would care” is necessarily useful. Love the video
yeah, also if the fabric was different, she probably would have constructed a different look than this one! Simple structure works with this fabric with a simpler fabric she would have done something different so kind of pointless to think that way.
There's still plenty of disagreement about whether Raja or Trinity should've been in the top for episode 2. They both did super well in the challenge, so I personally would've picked Raja for her better Pleather Principle runway.
@@c.k.8585 I do agree with you that The Boogieman and Luci aren't necessarily characters. However, the goal of Snatch Game hasn't been about impersonation skill in a long time. Yvie and Trinity knew going into this that to win Snatch Game you have to make Ru laugh the most. If you can make Ru laugh, you're likely to get the win regardless of how much you stick to the prompt. This isn't the queens' faults, per se, they're just taking advantage of Ru's biases and nepotism haha
Completely agree I don’t care who won but Vivienne should’ve been in the top Think because she was similar to jinx and was from uk they undermined her but she represented and did sooo well
Throughout the season they had Viv saying she looked up to the US queens and was nervous about performing well and representing the UK properly. While I’m sure Viv does believe that herself, the way production portrayed her saying these things as well as the fact that Viv is a guest in the US felt like they were implying that UK drag is inherently at a lower tier than US drag and they treated her as such.
@@MichelleD2023 ye i completely agree it’s seen on the other franchises too, like drag race uk/Canada are becoming Americanised if that makes sense, uk 1&2 the winners were very much classic brith drag then s3 came along and no offence but krystal is literally an American queen in terms of looks fashion etc who just happens to be British if that makes sense. I personally think that if it was a fair competition it would be close, not sure who would win as it would depend on challenges etc but US drag race compared to others wouldn’t be miles ahead
I just don't understand why they even had the lalaparuza lipsync smackdown when it all boiled down to performance over the entire season. Why give out extra stars to get queens into the final smackdown when you already know their performance wouldn't be enough for them to be crowned by your own rules! It makes no sense! With Shea getting looked over the entire season, then to give her 3 stars to put her into the final...but by their own rules she would never be crowned since her performance was lower than other queens who were in the final! But if she landed in the SDADHH bracket she would be able to compete fully and somehow fairly for the 50k at least!
Giving 3 stars to shea was a manour of production to keep the riggory of the rest of the season hidden and put the focus of the fans on shea, u cant tell me otherwise. Shea was done dirty
And I feel bad for Viv on Snatch Game. Her Patsy left a lot to be desired, but her Nan was perfection. Unfortunately most American audiences have never seen The Catharine Tate Show, and that included the judges. And considering Viv's complaints about things getting cut, I'm not surprised I can't find a GIF to share of her screaming "WHAT A FUCKING LIBERTY"
Yeah sure, but I also don’t think her jokes really landed ir were even that funny (though her good jokes might’ve been cut as you said). It was a great impression but Snatch Game isn’t really about the impression of it all, it’s more about parodying someone and bringing out the humor of the character, exhibit A: Jaida’s Prince killing despite her impression being completely off base.
I'm still wondering to this day if the outfits for the Legends song were assigned to them, because Shea's bodysuit was wrinkly, Trinity didn't look anything like herself and Raja... I mean, what? It felt so uncharacteristic.
All I have to say about Shea's look from the second design challenge is: You know, they sing a song that goes like this "Pink stockings, orange shoes, shouldn't be allowed in the chuUuUuUuUrch."
The blatant downplaying of the Viv slaying most of the season while over playing fan favs is wild. I mean the Viv was miles better than everyone bellow Monet in Snatch Game, but pop off I guess
Im convinced that Americans downplayed Viv because she's British not American. I suppose as a British person I understood her humour more and so am a bit biased but still
Her fandom. And honestly, all this editing on the lipsync against Monét is because it was 130k likes on Team She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Criticized post against 50k likes on Team Monét. They could have easily given her the crown.
Here's the problem with the fans though: they have no idea how to watch this show without comparing the queens. Especially in a winners season it seems totally wrong to do that. I'm here to support your claim - Monet not only surprised me after not-so-great showing in AS4, but also made me fall in love with her again. She was incredible in AS7. At the same time Jinkx was an undeniable multitalented force and should never be discredited. Let's hold the producers accountable for any shenanigans on this show for once.
Litterally they act like jinhx is the only stand out when we had the Vivienne Monet and trinity idk why she’s so favored by the fandom I love her but they are insane over her
I do think shea had one of the best performances in the Y2K girl group challenge but that Dolly runway stopped her from winning that star. Runways should still count when it comes to choosing who wins P.S jaida made that fabric for the gold look by layering different fabrics together.
Runways rarely matter on RuPaul judged Drag Race though. They're meant to break ties not to determine winners. And while that Dolly look was not good, it was a spot on recreation of the original look so she technically met the brief.
@@johnvarner5536 I’m not saying your wrong but for me it would’ve been money and yvie i think yvie played a charecter more relavent to girl groups just imo ofc!
I think jadai kept her look simple because of the fabric shes smart remember they chose there looks she new the fabric would be the focal point so she purposely kept it simple I think
Have to disagree - Shea deserves credit for painting her fabric and everything on the top half of the look, but the leggings are pretty out of place and bring the look down. Also, it just seems weird to say Jaida's look is simple and relies on the fabric, but act like that critique wouldn't also apply to Trinity's look.
I know from my own experience that draping is easier than making something tight fitting. HOWEVER, Jaida's fabric could NOT have been easy to work with. I hate cutting fabric with sequins or paillettes.
Why is no one talking about how Jinkx and Monét where the funniest in the “Santa’s School for Girls” acting challenge, and neither of them where on the top? 😵💫
Yeah Monet couldve really had a great storyline this season. This version puts down every single person who says she didnt deserve to win AS4, or at least convinces them that she is worthy of a crown on her own merit.
I mean she's definitely a top tier drag queen but in the competition she did not deserve to win that roast... or maybe the talent show on as4 or the makeover on s9. You can celebrate her and agree some people did better than her.
Monet was rarely the best in any challenge but even her worst performances were still solid. Same for Shea. Unfortunately the format doesn't really reward that
@@bali953 well the talent show is objective, she WAS amazing, but being the best in 2 challenges wouldn't have put her in the top if it was a normal season either. the three star challenge was the reason she even made it to the finale
I disagree. She chose two comedy characters but didn't do them nearly as well as those who originally did them. The nan was the better of the two but her Patsy was actually kind of bad. She's a fantastic impersonator but she just missed the mark with actually making it funny and standing out.
Drag Detective being afraid for his life to be slightly critical of Jinkx really proves why this fandom (specially Jinkx's fanbase) has worms for brains. Someone should be able to say "I didn't think Jinkx did well enough to deserve Top 2 on that episode" without being doxxed, harrassed, bullyied, cursed at and all those things the Drag Race fandom does. Jinkx Monsoon is not God. She is a drag queen who won a TV show.
spill honestly. I saw a poll asking fans of who'd they give 100k to between Blu, Kylie, Shea and Jinkx, Jinkx won with 44% of all the votes despite winning 200k compared to Blu who won none 💀💀
I think there's a bit of an issue on all sides. Some of Jinkx's fans are way over zealous and need to calm down, but I can see why they get annoyed. From an objective front Jinkx did perform very well in the season. Better or worse than other competitors, I would say yes but that's subjective. No matter who won, "fans" would be pissed off. Why people can't just be happy for Jinkx because she's a great queen I do not know. Monet is a fantastic queen and was a great competitor but Jinkx deserved the win, it was just a shame production ruined it for her at the end with a stupid lip sync tournament.
Ah sigh I'm the most delusional Roger stan but I totally agree that she possibly has the most riggory surrounding her wins this season. Even though it's undeniable that she's one of the most consistent queens this season, usually ranking in the top half in challenges, production really had to push aside a few queens who arguably did better than her in order for her to get the win.
i think a part of it is she also didn't win when she should've, she should've been in the top for that first design challenge so maybe they were trying to make up for it lol
I don’t get how people like sheas second design look. The bottom half is literally just pink leggings and the most boring thing ever. The top half wasn’t enough for it be in the top or even high placement. I’d place her like 5th out of the bunch
I pretty much agree with you on almost everything, especially with Trinity being the only queen who never had the last placement. I had that feeling too the entire season that she is the most consistent of them all
Runways should have been taken into account for this, as sorry but Viv had the best Dolly look and Shea had the worst keeping her from top 2. Also pausing to think who would get blocked when the star count was different to the original episode as that might have changed too
i know that James quit drag, but imagine if he was on the season. he was incredible at makeup, design, and could lipsync. he could potentially do well in an acting challenge if it was fit for him, and he could have ended the "Raven was robbed" narrative. Edit: someone commented that he also won the first ever acting challenge on the show, so that just shows his versatility as a performer.
Really can't stop thinking how amazing it would be to see James compete on one of these all-winners seasons. But maybe we'll get him, Bob, and Alaska on the next season.
Speaking of James I really do see Yvie recieving the same sort of Tyra treatment these days as I've seen a lot of people label Yvie as a weak winner based on this season. Meanwhile Brooklyn really gets so many features, being the first rugirl drag race host and being a mentor in this upcoming celebrity drag race, you would think she was crowned S11 winner if you never watched the show. It's no surprise to me that Yvie was upset with the lack of production showcasing her talent on AS7, cause people were already doubting her win going in.
Honestly, I want to see this redemption SO bad. Because I remember being absolutely in awe of James during that season’s initial run. I was sneaking to watch it on the LOGO channel as a kid because watching her made me realize there was something and someone else I could be. Gave me a reason to keep going and dreaming. I wish the win hadn’t cost her so much of her mental health.
I appreciate you not just basing everything on your opinions and taking community feedback into account a lot more. It made the video more fun than just “I think, I think” with no consideration of the bigger picture. Great job on that. 👍🏽 Overall I enjoyed this as a look back on the season- I definitely think there has been a LOT more riggery in other seasons. Waiting for the reunion for all the real tea, and how the queens themselves felt about it 👀👀👂🏽👂🏽
Jynkx was SO GOOD in the draguation speech, I used her monologue about trauma to open a very important conversation with my mom, and it worked so well...
I do personally believe that Shea should’ve won the Draguation speeches and the 2nd design challenge. The prompt was draguation, and she really leaned into the emotional aspect of it while still having great one liners. Jinkx was great but a witch talking abt being hit by a car is not talking abt college experience or something along those lines. Same could be said for Yvie, either one would have worked for me. And in the design challenge, Shea MADE her own fabric and those pants were incredibly made and they fit to perfection. She rly sold the fantasy on the runway giving us model esque vibes. Jaida was great but it was nothing we hadn’t seen before and I do think the proportions on Sheas were generally better overall. This isn’t taking away from how great all of them were, but Shea deserved more recognition in the season.
THANK YOU!!! I’m soooo over people saying that Jinkx absolutely “dOmInAtEd” the season. I mean, don’t get me wrong, Jinkx is a *phenomenal* queen and she did an *incredible* job on All Stars 7. Her Judy Garland will go down as the best Snatch Game performance _ever._ And both her losing her pig ear _and_ her shoving that peanut butter sandwich into her mouth will live rent free in my head for the rest of my life! LOL. (Not to mention her being “hit by a fucking car!” LOL.) So, yes, Jinkx performed fantastically and you’ll never hear me say that she didn’t deserve to win. However, having said all of that, she absolutely did _not_ steam roll the competition. Every single queen did a great job on the season and, as you pointed out, someone like Monét very well could’ve _also_ snatched the crown and justifiably so!! (Seeing it all laid out like this _really_ shows why Monét was so in her feelings after the crowning took place!) But again, I’m not trying to take _anything_ away from Jinkx as she’s genuinely _amazing._ I’m just hella sick of people taking away from all of the other queens who have more talent in their pinky fingers (And they showed us such this season!!) than 99% of the morons out there talking shit!
To be real with you guys, although I heard that there was a lot of rigged actions backstage, placement wise i never though this season so rigged. Only top 2 placemenrs in MTV challenge and Trinity being top 2 during roast comes to me as somewhat rigged. Rest of the decision were fine for me. Ok exept last 2 episodes. They were..... crazy
Viv winning girl group challenge; Trinity winning a roast; Monét destroying the Talent Show; Shea winning the episode featuring Naomi Campbell (not she wasn't one of the best, but let's face it: even if she was not, they would have made it look like); Jinkx winning the TikTok challenge; Santa's School for girls had a TOTALLY rigged script written for whoever picked the Principal, the Teacher, the Regina and the Goth Girl to win or be a total flop; one design challenge right when Jinkx were blocked just for the sake of the storyline; Raja and Jinkx being the earliest winners and then being crowned this season. This season was totally rigged it's so rigged it looks like it was scripted.
@@anavictorianormie Trinity was like funny in the roast though. How was Monet doing good in the talent show with a never before seen talent… rigged? And like every single acting challenge in drag race herstory has a win/flop role, that’s nothing new.
@@Jhawk2711 Monét has always said she was a trained classical singer, so it's no surprise. The surprise is that she changed it last minute to sing an aria (don't know what was the previous number, probably another original track Lipsync and dance). So well fitting since she flopped singing on AS4, right? And on the roast, of course Trinity was funny. They recorded 10 minutes of roast each and only average 1' 30" were aired. The season as a whole was heavily edited and manipulated and all the pieces were there, it was a winners celebration low key rudemptions, with no negative critiques being aired and as Derick pointed, they went blocking the other queens blindfolded as they didn't know what was the next challenge.
And that, kids, is how Monet slayed the first all winners season and solidified how much her drag has evolved from season 10 to being the runner up of the all winners😚 Now Bob better be on the 2nd all winners. Her and Jinkx being the two Queen of all queens just makes so much sense with my fantasy✨️
Didn't Jaida mix fabrics for her dress? Like, it's not one single fabric. She mixed multiple fabrics and layered them, which to me required a lot of talent and a good eye for fashoin. It's really not as simple as you think imo. Shea's look was good but the pants really didn't fit with the rest of the outfit imo.
The last episode should have been an ultimate challenge, you create a dress, you write a verse, you lipsync the verse and dance to it, and you end up with some comedy for the silver lining, to get the most well-rounded queen winning. Kinda like season 5's last challenge where Roxxxy, Alaska and Jinkx all did well in a different category, just there you have to be good in every category.
as a monet stan who has come to terms with jinkx's win (we all have our faves), i appreciate you for finally giving monet some credit. it was so frustrating to see the judges and some fans (many didn't) completely either downplay monet's success and dominance. she dominated just like jinkx did (if not more) and i just wished the edit showed exactly how well madam st. lucia did :/ that being said, jinkx also did absolutely amazing and might not have won in the rule book's eyes but she did in her own and that's all that matters ❤️❤️
about that gold Jaida look, yes it's a simple cut, simple construction BUUUT ... part of great designing is choosing the right materials. she picked a great fabric that worked with the vision she was going for and it turned out amazing. because of the fabric, the dress is not basic and she picked that fabric for that reason. what else would do with a fabric like that ? it's already stunning. just saying.
Excellent analysis! AS 7 was a fantastic season and with all of them being such magnificent Queens, it was really hard to choose who was the best on any given episode.....💜
Thank you for getting rid of the Raja favoritism from the fandom. But instead you give Shea favoritism she was far worse than Jaida or Viv in the snatch game, did not deserve high for the ball for making the same look she already made and having one of the worst Vannas she was also one of the worst for both the roast and the speaches yet you kept her out of the bottom 2 both times and you also end up giving her an extra star for the last challenge just because. Shea is great I’m happy shes in marvel she deserves it but that doesn’t mean make believe she didnt do consistently mediocre this particular season when she did
Monet should have won. Jinx is like the Viv and it makes no sense for both to be that far apart in competition. It’s clear that the only thing that made Jinkx go further is just production favouritism.
I’m so happy that Monet got the recognition that she deserves!!! She did amazing this season and deserved to win those challenges in the season, which would eventually would have ended with her winning the crown!!!
Runways rarely matter on RuPaul judged Drag Race though. They're meant to break ties not to determine winners. And while that Dolly look was not good, it was a spot on recreation of the original look so she technically met the brief.
It always just comes down to my choice wasn’t THE choice. Whether it was a challenge or the runway or the season. It’s a show that is produced for entertainment for us to consume. If at this point you’re still surprised production is a shady stunt queen, you haven’t been paying attention.
The only thing I can’t accept from this season was giving raja the win for the final lipsync. Yes, raja did arguably a bit better but the whole storyline of yvie coming to terms with her illness should have ended with her winning the final lip sync 😫
You did not account that Monet is by far in the lead early on and she would clearly be blocked more than in the actual show where she was never in the lead there. The could wither result in Jinkx not being blocked in one of her wins or Monet being blocked in one of her wins. because in your season Jinkx was blocked even more then in the real season even though she was by far the frontrunner in the real show and not in yours.
Good point; however, I would argue Monèt would get blocked from one star at most. Most of the girls seemed to be content with everyone getting at least one block, so I don't see much changing. And, with one less star, Monèt would still be tied with Shea for most stars at the end!
it's funny bc i think jinkx deserved to win overall, but i also would've probably redistributed a couple of the stars she got (maybe improv & grad speech) to give other people a chance to shine and make the race tighter. not showing negative criticisms is going to boost everyone's performances in the eyes of the audience, so of course it was going to upset people when they didn't even get a reason why the girls who didn't win, didn't win.
What kind of annoys me is how much importance you place on the y2k element of the challenge but then ignore the fact that for the tiktok challenge it was meant to be a dance.
Am I the only one who hates Shea's pink look in that design challenge? For me its the bottom, you have this fun and cute leopard print on the top ruffels and just hot pink NOTHING on the bottom. its not even the same color of pink as the ruffles. And the orange shoes with it? I hate it. From the top up, great beautiful, from the bottom down, ugly and bland and I hate it.
No shade but I think leaving it to a fan vote was a mistake. The fans are always going to pick their favorites like Jaida and jinkx and pick against the ones they don’t like like yvie and Shea
I find it so funny that you’re arguing as to why Shea should be in the Top 2 for the second design challenge instead of Jaida, when I personally agree with the original placement; but think Shea should’ve been in the Top 2 for the first design challenge instead of Jaida… All 3 of Shea’s looks where great and fit the prompt + her final wedding gown was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUSLY STUNNING (like I would get married in that dress) and definitely was better than her AS5 wedding outfit, while Jaida’s looks where very good but she lost me at her “Red bag lady” look mostly cuz the prompt is so stupid and her final look isn’t at the same level as Shea and Trinity’s. As with the second design challenge… LISTEN- I was desperate at that point because Shea hadn’t won more stars and REALLY wanted her to be in the Top 2 [and honestly thought she was gonna be cuz her and Trinity walked the runway before Jaida] but as soon as Jaida walked out I cursed very loudly and instantly admitted to myself that Jaida deserved to be in the top over Shea, cuz Shea’s outfit just feels like it’s missing something in the bottom half and the plain pink thights going into the clear orange shoes SICKENS me, while Jaida looked STUNNING and was one of the only ones that you can actually tell which RuPaul look she’s referencing/recreating
This video is why I hate when people comment under the finale lip sync. Monet totally won BUT jinx won the whole season. Like the whole point of the finale and the format is to win the lip sync smack down, that’s why Shea and Monet put so much work into winning the last challenge which apparently didn’t matter
I mean this is fine and dandy, but we all knew from the jump Jinx was gonna win right? Everybody said it. A lot of times with reality shows from the jump they have a winner set in mind. They just had to build the story arcs around it. Come on, you'll had to know she was gonna win. And since nobody went home and everybody got to showcase that's the showcase they're dragged all season it really doesn't matter.
who the hell is everyone? YOU have that perception because YOU thought only jinkx could win. some of us sane and appreciative drag fans rooted for many queens at once and hoped some had a shot at the crown. we all knew lmao pls
Most people said it because spoilers did it. We knew who is top 2 and Monet doesn't have Jinkx following. Similarly to how Alaska shouldn't have won AS2. Jinkx shouldn't win this one.
@@jem8775 a lot of stuff done for her - she didn't deserve some of her wins (she shouldn't be in top for the two-in-one, shouldn't have won against Phi-Phi either and she was extremely touchey with Katya in other lipsync), which inherently would put people like Detox to the better spot for the crown. Especially as Detox had much better progress overall since her original season and she had winner look in the final 4. Obviously all of them deserve it - but they weren't the best choice for the winners, aside being the most popular girls.
I LOVE Jinkx but I think they’re going to really regret not crowning Monet from a marketing standpoint, purely because Monet does EVERYTHING for the drag Racerace franchise. Monet has hosted pit stop, done portrait for a queen, both season of secret celebrity, all drag cons and also does drag race run tours. Whereas Jinkx, does tours with Dela which aren’t run by Drag race, so currently instead of the ‘Queen Of All Queens Title’ being used to describe someone who is constantly around and making drag race content, it’s being used to introduce a queen (a very talented) at a tour that isn’t even run by drag race xx
Right?! I thought the same thing, you would think they’d want the girl that died all tours and publicity for the show. Plus no offense to Jinkx but although Jinkx has more fans; Monét attracts mainstream media.
@@andrewductoc9825 lol I told myself the week before the finale that Monet deserves to win cause she talks and works with Drag Race alot (and she even had THE Rupaul on her talk show)
@@andrewductoc9825 I mean Monet is a queen that has become bigger than just a drag race queen, Anne Bloody Hathaway talks about her on late night talk shows 🤣
Honestly... this just fuels the winner debate. I love watching these videos and I've noticed the fandom always being called out for being inappropriate towards queens and rightfully so, but this does not help either.... This just gives people that disagree with Jinkx's win more to hold on to and try to undermine her win. I'm so tired of it. We get enough out of production trying to get reactions out of us... now every RUclips video too... The whole reason people like the season is the lack of negativity and just celebrating the queens. Pot Kettle?
@bam1234!! yeah but that's the point... if Monet won Jinkx's fans would be saying the same thing. People are acting like Jinkx didn't deserve to win, yes she didn't win the final lip sync, but she did perform well in the season. Not saying anyone else didn't, but it's not like she didn't deserve to win the season. There is no such thing as an objective opinion on this, but why people can't just be happy that a funny, talented queen won the season is I think what people are missing.
@@ellamayothethird906 I'm not excusing racist behaviour, never would. It just annoys me that people can't just congratulate the winner, say it's a shame Monet didn't win and then move on. It's all "Monet was the true winner" etc. There's just no need for it, Jinkx is fucking fierce and deserved it.
"sink my bling bling bye bye ring" is a season winning legendary legenderrific line and nobody can convince me otherwise. The voice in my head just sings "sink my bling bling bye bye ring" on a loop nonstop.
In my opinion for the final lip sync between monet and viv, ru would choose viv to win over monet because of her relationship with ru before she went on drag race and some riggory in uk 1 in viv's favour so i think if it was close ru ould rig it for viv.
Yvie 100% should've been in the top for the branding challenge!! Her video was entertaining, the whole thing fit her brand, and she made a cute lil dance people could replicate. Jinx shouldn't have gotten a pass just for being Jinx lol
I think the blocking system was a great idea for this season done poorly. It would have been much more interesting for the blocked queen to be actually blocked from the top 2 at all. As it is, the blocked queen being in the top 2 just got old real quick. Getting blocked meaning the queen has to be safe creates more interesting tv moments and less killing the vibe.
top four after rewatching the season imo should’ve been the viv, jinkx, either raja or jaida (they both slayed the runway, which i wish would’ve boosted their potential for wins, now that i think about it imma go wit jaida) and then monet
Bro you think we don't know she was the best lmao. Honestly it becomes one of those things that you don't have to always acknowledge it cause its fact, we know.
at the finale I could see them having it be Jinkx vs Viv for the storyline that ran for like 1 episode then Monét vs Shea to have like a 4th rematch to give Monét her win and ultimately win the season
Interesting. I wasn’t exactly hard on yvie throughout the season I just thought that there were always girls better than her. Same with Shea. Example: yvies graduation speech. She took her first half making irrelevant jokes about Ru and she never fully tied that fall into her speech. Yes her message was great but she spent to much time at the beginning talking about random stuff it seemed to rushed.
I thought Monet was stiff and really hard to watch in the Santa’s School for Girls (or whatever it was called lol) episode. She had to be pushed to really get into who the character is and what she did do missed the mark for me. It wasn’t funny. Just my opinion though. I’m in the minority here.
Honestly, Monet winning would be a great storyline. As someone who is considered one of the "weaker" winners and her being in a tie with one of the strongest competitors from the show, she comes in as an underdog. And then seeing her dominate the season winning challenges in Performance, Acting, Comedy, Branding etc. would show that her winning AS4 was not a fluke or a "political decision".
Yeah I agree Monet should have won TRL and the acting challenge. Monet and Jinkx were more or less evenly matched and I would have been happy with either of them winning. I don't think lip syncs should decide the winners because some of the strongest queens the show has ever seen are not great lip syncers. It's a shame Yvie and Raja have less wins in this scenario when they both had some really amazing moments but I just think there was stiff competition on the episodes where they did great.
The bias in this video towards Trinity... Far too much. If people didn't vote Trinity in the top, it isn't because they didn't like her. Raja just clearly did better than her in a lot of challenges.
40:20 they honestly should have done 2 stars for SG One for the 2 winners of each SG and then the top 2 overall lip sync. Could spread out the stars more. Jinkx gets 2, Raja gets 1, TTT gets blocked and then we have TTT and Jinkx in the lip sync
In season 14, the winner of the girl group challenge delivered comedy even though it didn't fit the 60's vibe lyrically, whereas the losing groups were more accurate. Putting the comedy group up top is more in line with the season 14 judging lol
I still can't believe how differently i think about the Y2K challenge. For me, while Monet and Shea are obviously amazing performers, they were not at all 2000s. The group was also not Y2K, it read more 2010. Solely for that reason I can't give anyone in this group the win, and I'd actually choose Yvie and Jaida for top 2 cause I think they were the best in that group
@@fruitloops64 i guess my 2000s were different than your 2000s then, no need to call someone delusional for their own experience is there? I stand by my opinion cause it's derived of my experience
Monet deserved to win and it was very justified if she did ! Jinkx did great but the riggory basically pushed her miles away from the rest making it look like nobody was at her reach- and Monet was idc
As a Jinkx fan and she is literally one of my favorite people on this planet, the top 2 was correct, Monet won the final lip sync so she should've won the season but they shouldn't have done a smackdown in the first place, they should've done a different format for the finale
pet peeve of mine: it s should have GONE not should have WENT. in every video of yours you keep saying it wrong. "should have went" is just wrong English. please fix it looking forward. maybe it is that English is not my first language but this mistake bothers me a lot. great work on everything else though
@@krissykriss328 It was still bad because jinx still doesnt have the stars that monet had
@@casswashwash1070 Only because of blocks though. If you go by who won the challenges and ignore blocking stars and ignore the stars that were given to them for basically free (not for winning challenges) Jinx was the clear front runner.
I know I'm months late but OMGGG I *LOVE* your idea! That definitely should've been how the last 2 episodes played out!
There was a huge lost storyline with Yvie not landing in the top during the competition and then winning the 50k
exactlyyt
But Rajas storyline was better
@@indica666_ raja had no storyline there
Not the point, just give the 50k to the girl who actually won the lypsinc which is Yvie, also, as Yvie has been so ignored this whole season it would’ve actually been nice to see her dominate in what she’s so recognized for which is lypsincing
@@alvaroizquierdojulia thats a better story still. And production does that anyway
Thank you he seems to not understand that
Also it's not her fault at all she had that fabric, so that can't really be a critique on her part
Agreed! Not to mention, that fabric is extremely hard to work with, so to create the level of detailed look she did with that particular fabric is actually very impressive, not less so
THIS
@@spencywright9281 not to mention she didn’t even just get a fabrick she took the time to layer it to give it texture
Oh, totally, but his choice sounds reasonable if you haven’t sewn or participated in the creation of a garment before.
Honestly Vivienne & Jaida being below Shea for Snatch Game is so weird to me. Shea had 2 boring characters. Viv & Jaida had 1 great character each.
@@georgemcgukin5576 💯
I was expecting a Grand Finale with an Audience So that was a let down. Crowning the Queen of all Queens deserved fanfare. Lots of Love and Kindness.
i think it was probably due to their filming time, since it was some time during 2021. covid was really bad still and many people were still unvaxxed, so they probably didn't wanna contribute to it (either for morality reasons or the potential for bad PR from it)
I'm a Yvie fan, so I'm definitely biased, but I really feel like she was undervalued in the competition and deserved a bit more recognition
I agree, the edit seemed to kind of mock her
I think it’s fine and dandy to say that if Jaida had a different fabric, no one would care… but she didn’t have a different fabric, she had the fabric she used, so I don’t think the critique of “if this was hugely different no one would care” is necessarily useful. Love the video
yeah, also if the fabric was different, she probably would have constructed a different look than this one! Simple structure works with this fabric with a simpler fabric she would have done something different so kind of pointless to think that way.
totally agree.
he so weird for that statement that if Jaida has a difference fabric she won't be in the top
The point is that the silhouette wasn't particularly interesting or special
There's still plenty of disagreement about whether Raja or Trinity should've been in the top for episode 2. They both did super well in the challenge, so I personally would've picked Raja for her better Pleather Principle runway.
Trinity’s look for that runway was so bad 😭
I’m right there with you. Runways mattered a lot this season since everyone was bringing top tier stuff.
It's also that Luci (or the Boogieman to be fair) is not a character. It's just Trinity being southern and gay with a devil outfit on.
I agree with you 100%
@@c.k.8585 I do agree with you that The Boogieman and Luci aren't necessarily characters.
Completely agree I don’t care who won but Vivienne should’ve been in the top
Think because she was similar to jinx and was from uk they undermined her but she represented and did sooo well
Yeah, I really think production did underestimate viv but we Stan and she slays!!!!
@@cocomontresebeast2210 ye I’m British so was rooting for her
I’d seen the spoilers and knew there was some riggory goin on
Throughout the season they had Viv saying she looked up to the US queens and was nervous about performing well and representing the UK properly.
I feel crazy cuz to me Jinkx and Vivienne are two completely different types of drag, Vivienne is not really quirky in the same way imo
Yea her Catherine Tate was perfection, but it was a very cultural reference.
I loved the Catherine tate character is was so funny to me and I couldn’t understand why they didn’t laugh then I remembered I’m British
I suppose as a British person I understood her humour more and so am a bit biased but still
Finally someone who recognizes Monét's incredible performance throughout the season. The fandom acts like Jinkx was the only contender for the crown.
Her fandom. And honestly, all this editing on the lipsync against Monét is because it was 130k likes on Team She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Criticized post against 50k likes on Team Monét. They could have easily given her the crown.
@@anavictorianormie spilled 😶
yeah, monet and trinity also dominated, and dominated different type of challenges, not just comedy
Runways should still count when it comes to choosing who wins
P.S jaida made that fabric for the gold look by layering different fabrics together.
Yeah she had the worst runway of the week, same as Trinity for the pleather principle runway
It’s why I think it should have been Monet and Viv for that week. Viv looked incredible on that runway, a literal recreation of Dolly.
@@johnvarner5536 agreed!
cause Viv was so much better than Jinkx in that challenge
Yeah Monet couldve really had a great storyline this season. This version puts down every single person who says she didnt deserve to win AS4, or at least convinces them that she is worthy of a crown on her own merit.
She won just because she is black.
people are way too hard on trinity. she is fierce and an incredible performer and deserved all her wins
I mean she's definitely a top tier drag queen but in the competition she did not deserve to win that roast... or maybe the talent show on as4 or the makeover on s9. You can celebrate her and agree some people did better than her.

But she chose 2 characters which were already characters which, in my book, puts her lower.

Plus atleast in this version, we dont see her lipsync so much🤣
it’s bc she’s white let’s be real. the fandom is so obviously anti-black.
please dont generalize all jinkx fans. as a jinkx stan im willing to admit when she flops lmao
spill honestly.
I agree I hate the bottom half of that look so much it looks so disconnected from the top half
Ye true but fandom wasn’t very good to them
Really can't stop thinking how amazing it would be to see James compete on one of these all-winners seasons.
Anyone who thinks Raven was robbed is delusional anyway. Tyra destroyed her season.
Monet's Drag Race is also what I was watching during all stars 7. Completely correct video, no notes.
I am a Jinkx stan. But I still think she lost more lipsyncs than she won, and that the top two for Fairytale Justice should've been Viv and Yvie.
Completely Agree!
Snatch Game should have also been a 2 star episode and I do not think they should have had a star give away.
Not the “Fortune of Wheelness Ball”, I’m crying 😭
And like every single acting challenge in drag race herstory has a win/flop role, that’s nothing new.
i mean that’s also with HEAVY editing too
@@Jhawk2711 Monét has always said she was a trained classical singer, so it's no surprise.
And that, kids, is how Monet slayed the first all winners season and solidified how much her drag has evolved from season 10 to being the runner up of the all winners😚
Now Bob better be on the 2nd all winners.
Kinda like season 5's last challenge where Roxxxy, Alaska and Jinkx all did well in a different category, just there you have to be good in every category.
as a monet stan who has come to terms with jinkx's win (we all have our faves), i appreciate you for finally giving monet some credit. it was so frustrating to see the judges and some fans (many didn't) completely either downplay monet's success and dominance. she dominated just like jinkx did (if not more) and i just wished the edit showed exactly how well madam st. lucia did :/
that being said, jinkx also did absolutely amazing and might not have won in the rule book's eyes but she did in her own and that's all that matters ❤️❤️
The sponge soak st lucia goddess mama deserves everything. She is lawd
about that gold Jaida look, yes it's a simple cut, simple construction BUUUT ... part of great designing is choosing the right materials. she picked a great fabric that worked with the vision she was going for and it turned out amazing. because of the fabric, the dress is not basic and she picked that fabric for that reason. what else would do with a fabric like that ? it's already stunning.
just saying.
It's also an extremely difficult material to use. To use it with such precision isn't easy to do.
Excellent analysis! AS 7 was a fantastic season and with all of them being such magnificent Queens, it was really hard to choose who was the best on any given episode.....💜
Definitely agree with this! Monet's shine really was dampened this season so that Jinx could be crowned which was so unnecessary lol
He doesnt say who got blocked
Thank you for getting rid of the Raja favoritism from the fandom. But instead you give Shea favoritism she was far worse than Jaida or Viv in the snatch game, did not deserve high for the ball for making the same look she already made and having one of the worst Vannas she was also one of the worst for both the roast and the speaches yet you kept her out of the bottom 2 both times and you also end up giving her an extra star for the last challenge just because. Shea is great I’m happy shes in marvel she deserves it but that doesn’t mean make believe she didnt do consistently mediocre this particular season when she did
i can’t believe you robbed roger more than the show did
Monet should have won. Jinx is like the Viv and it makes no sense for both to be that far apart in competition. It’s clear that the only thing that made Jinkx go further is just production favouritism.
Your critique did Jaida’s legendary look is insane, like really missed the mark
I disagree with every ranking anyone has ever done of the talent show.
If this ends with Jinkx winning the lalaparuza I'm gonna take a life
😚🤭
This should be called the rigging for Shea cause Gurl wtf u favoured Shea so much
I’m so happy that Monet got the recognition that she deserves!!! She did amazing this season and deserved to win those challenges in the season, which would eventually would have ended with her winning the crown!!!
If runways matter I don’t get how Shea wins TRL
The look was really crunchy and should have cost her a Top 2 spot. I’d have put Yvie against Monet
Runways rarely matter on RuPaul judged Drag Race though. They're meant to break ties not to determine winners. And while that Dolly look was not good, it was a spot on recreation of the original look so she technically met the brief.
It’s hard because yvies look wasn’t that great either lol
It always just comes down to my choice wasn’t THE choice. Whether it was a challenge or the runway or the season. It’s a show that is produced for entertainment for us to consume. If at this point you’re still surprised production is a shady stunt queen, you haven’t been paying attention.
The only thing I can’t accept from this season was giving raja the win for the final lipsync. Yes, raja did arguably a bit better but the whole storyline of yvie coming to terms with her illness should have ended with her winning the final lip sync 😫
Monet as top 2 in the Christmas acting challenge is some stuff on crack to me
You did not account that Monet is by far in the lead early on and she would clearly be blocked more than in the actual show where she was never in the lead there.
The only time were she could be blocked from a star is episode 7 but the person who blocked that week was trinity and shed never block monet
it's funny bc i think jinkx deserved to win overall, but i also would've probably redistributed a couple of the stars she got (maybe improv & grad speech) to give other people a chance to shine and make the race tighter. not showing negative criticisms is going to boost everyone's performances in the eyes of the audience, so of course it was going to upset people when they didn't even get a reason why the girls who didn't win, didn't win.
What kind of annoys me is how much importance you place on the y2k element of the challenge but then ignore the fact that for the tiktok challenge it was meant to be a dance.
THANK YOU!!
Exactly, they should not ask people to leave who they want to win, they should just make a decision based on the competition or finale
I’m glad I’m not the only one who would give Monet this track record she did so damn well this season and Jinkx’s fans try and act she she was sub par
@@mjm3091 Explain why Alaska should not have won AS2?!
@@andrewductoc9825 lol I told myself the week before the finale that Monet deserves to win cause she talks and works with Drag Race alot (and she even had THE Rupaul on her talk show)
@@andrewductoc9825 I mean Monet is a queen that has become bigger than just a drag race queen, Anne Bloody Hathaway talks about her on late night talk shows 🤣
@@murraypeat2871 I means that’s why I thought they would want someone who I can honestly see taking the show to a bigger audience. 🤷🏽♂️
I'm sorry but putting Shea as 5th in the snatch game is simply not it. She would've been lip syncing against Yvie in a traditional season.
i 100% agree.
These placements and this outcome really align with my fantasy!✨
Monét winning Allstars 7 makes very much sense in my fantasy. I'd have loved to see that.
Honestly... this just fuels the winner debate.
@@plokijm22 Because of the overtly racist fandom that drag race is known for. THATS WHY. Queens of color can never catch a break.
If you’re tired, then log off the internet and don’t engage with it
"sink my bling bling bye bye ring" is a season winning legendary legenderrific line and nobody can convince me otherwise.
Spilled
yes!! it was the best one for me
I think the blocking system was a great idea for this season done poorly.
It would have been much more interesting for the blocked queen to be actually blocked from the top 2 at all.
As it is, the blocked queen being in the top 2 just got old real quick.
Getting blocked meaning the queen has to be safe creates more interesting tv moments and less killing the vibe.
Honestly not a bad idea lol (it's not like it does anything for you anyway) but it would be nice for every queen to get a chance to win some money
top four after rewatching the season imo should’ve been the viv, jinkx, either raja or jaida (they both slayed the runway, which i wish would’ve boosted their potential for wins, now that i think about it imma go wit jaida) and then monet
Omg I love when you make these type of videos I agree like half of the time but your explanation of everything is amazing
12:00 Such a Jinkx hater goes through discussing each queens snatchgame and doesn't even say a word about or compliment the GREATEST OF ALL TIME.
Lol this video is crazy, he can't be impartial when it comes to Monet.
THIS IS A JOKE
Bro you think we don't know she was the best lmao. Honestly it becomes one of those things that you don't have to always acknowledge it cause its fact, we know.
Oml we get it you love jinkx
at the finale I could see them having it be Jinkx vs Viv for the storyline that ran for like 1 episode then Monét vs Shea to have like a 4th rematch to give Monét her win and ultimately win the season
YESSS
Interesting. I wasn’t exactly hard on yvie throughout the season I just thought that there were always girls better than her. Same with Shea. Example: yvies graduation speech. She took her first half making irrelevant jokes about Ru and she never fully tied that fall into her speech. Yes her message was great but she spent to much time at the beginning talking about random stuff it seemed to rushed.
This was a very brave video to make cause The Raja, Jaida and Jinx Stan’s will destroy anything you have to say.
I thought Monet was stiff and really hard to watch in the Santa’s School for Girls (or whatever it was called lol) episode. She had to be pushed to really get into who the character is and what she did do missed the mark for me. It wasn’t funny. Just my opinion though. I’m in the minority here.
Raja’s Titanic Verse is like Mayhem’s Talent Show- it’s so bad it’s good and hilarious
Raja’s verse I just 😂
Jaida and Monet would not pick jinkx for top 4 cause that’s basically giving jinkx the win. I can imagine it being like a ukvtw situation with Pangina
It's a shame Yvie and Raja have less wins in this scenario when they both had some really amazing moments but I just think there was stiff competition on the episodes where they did great.
honestly all stars 7 is the first time i really would have loved a double crown made sense to me xD
The bias in this video towards Trinity... Far too much. If people didn't vote Trinity in the top, it isn't because they didn't like her. Raja just clearly did better than her in a lot of challenges.
really appreciate your willingness to push against the group-think of the fandom
40:20 they honestly should have done 2 stars for SG
One for the 2 winners of each SG and then the top 2 overall lip sync. Could spread out the stars more. Jinkx gets 2, Raja gets 1, TTT gets blocked and then we have TTT and Jinkx in the lip sync
Money had soooooooooo much to work with in that acting challenge and she floped if jinkx had that role it would have been over for the girlies.
The way this is so wrong 😭
Sorry but you’re actually delusional for this one. Monet and Yvie were the only ones who gave 2000’s even a little bit
@@fruitloops64 i guess my 2000s were different than your 2000s then, no need to call someone delusional for their own experience is there? I stand by my opinion cause it's derived of my experience
@@ecenbt yeah, you’re delusional. The first step is admitting you need help
Monet deserved to win and it was very justified if she did ! Jinkx did great but the riggory basically pushed her miles away from the rest making it look like nobody was at her reach- and Monet was idc
Monet winning the season and Viv making it Top 4 is my ultimate fantasy and truly how I believe it should have gone.
