I purchased a 2020 Legacy Sport in July this year after watching your review and a test drive at my local dealer. Thank you for the video! I’m in love with my legacy.
The XT should have the aesthetics of this trim. The slower car looks sporty while the turbo powered car looks more appealing for grandma. It's baffling how Subaru got this backwards.
This is what makes it interesting. The car doesn't draw any attention exterior wise, but when you take off, it's a different story. It's an eye opener for sure
I stopped the minute I realized it wasn't a V-6 or a turbo. Aside from that, it looks aesthetically pleasing. Great job, Subaru! And yes, we need the exhaust!
(Every time I hear the intro music, I'm sort of half convinced the Terminator is going to show up to review cars.) I actually like the exhaust ports/vents. Kind of a cool look, different. I will say, having driven an eye-sight equipped Forester recently in heavy winter conditions, if the windshield starts to ice over with heavy snow/rain/slush, then eye-sight gets disabled--for obvious reasons. That said, if you are driving in those conditions, it's up to you to drive safely and carefully, instead of relying only on technology. Keep up the good content, thanks!
Time of death- 5:29. Late to the game but shopping for sports sedan. Hoping for a grown up WRX “lite”. Appearance package? No thanks. Mazda 6 Carbon edition still at the top of my list.
The idea that the Subaru Legacy ‘Sport’ trim has 182hp and a CVT is a bit ridiculous. I understand that the XT trim exists for those that want the stronger 260hp turbocharged engine with their CVT but this car’s MSRP price then jumps to $34,000 from the $22,000 start price.
Hey Joe. 🖐🏻. Nice all black 🤩but. Couple things like rear a/c , 20' wheels, leather seats, leather doors panels... And 2.5 turbo charger. That is the only things that car needs. 💣💣
20 in wheels are a waist of money. They make your car slower, tires are way more expensive, firmer ride, handles worse. Vanity is not worth all those negatives
@@Hallowsaw Not only that, but there are more potholes this winter in NY than I have seen in years. You cannot always spot them at night. With 19" or 20" wheels, a direct hit can cost $$$.
I bought a new legacy and after just one month the windshield cracked while parked in my backyard. Apparently subaru has been having windshield problems for years!
The Legacy Sport looks good for 2020 and not bad for the price but would’ve liked to see Subaru add the 2.4 turbo as an option. Would cost more but will make the Sport much better for the namesake.
Will a wrx transmission swap be possible. I just want all the features of this in a family sedan where I can still have my gear cruising fun and my family has there comfort. Why Subaru why?
All you reviewers want the juice of a turbo but for what? Acceleration at a light that is not needed by most drivers of this type of car? I now have over 2000 miles on my new 2020 Forester Touring, mostly back, forth, and around my vacation home in the Catskill Mountains of New York, and I can verify that it gets up to speed from the light quickly and passes cars on the two lane roads effortlessly - and smoothly. What I am saying is that this engine/CVT combo yields an excellent driving experience at low and highway speeds.
Joe, I commented on your Legacy XT Touring review, which was excellent! I like your suggestion here that this might be the "sweet spot" for price and features. I don't need the turbo and I kinda like the Sport touches (I don't know about those black wheels). In your view, do you feel like a big compromise in terms of the comfort and interior appointments vs the limited trim level?
I own an Outback with the 2.5L, which I picked for the fuel mileage. Overall power is good, but not great. It feels like a chore to pass on the highway. I’d suggest getting the turbo model for the passing power alone.
The Subaru CVT is fine. All the whining and honestly it's better than some old automatic transmissions due to the simulated shifts. Also you can turn off traction control and the car drives less stiff and turn it back on when there's bad weather.
yea.....bleh...is about the nicest I would say on this. I know, I know, many people perceive this as sporty, but I don't see it. It looks cheap to me. I did really like your review of the Limited though. That was a nice Legacy. This, not so much. If I was in the market for a Legacy right now, I would easily choose the limited over this. $2800 increase for the Limited from the sport gives a much more nice looking and what looks to be more comfortable vehicle. IF I wanted a balance of the features and keep the price down, Legacy Premium to me seems like a good deal.
Hope you have seen supergramps from mighty car mods. It uses the 3.6L engine in an older legacy. They have nodded the heck out of it and the one guy uses it as his daily driver
@@Hallowsaw It uses the 3L flat six. the old Subaru Legacys blow the new ones out of the water. Not sure why Subaru to turn the Legacy into a large sized FWD family car competitor.

That is so wonderful Tyler! Congrats on your new Subaru!
I just bought one two month ago! I love it!

Damn those black wheels look really dope with this car's color. 👌
I am so glad that you liked this one!
I have a 2017 Legacy sport. Great ride and very dependable. It’s my first Subaru and I love this ride .
Anyone else notice at 17:18 the model of the Legacy changed, there is no DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System. ;)
Beautiful sedan. Amazing one at that price point. Not to mention the reliability of Subaru, the interior is very nice.
My 18 legacy is trash. I made a mistake lol

I totally agree with you!
@@antonroux6737 I agree, but I think it is the thick spokes of the rims that are offsetting the color.

I wish I could get the sport with the turbo

Hey Joe Chevy Finally Updated the interior on the 2021 all-new Suburban ....it only took 50 years
hey joe i love when you zonk something. it reminds me of the classic lets make a deal game show!
Thanks Rich! I really loved that show as a kid and still do today!
As with your previous Subaru video, my 'perfect' midsize AWD sedan doesn't have a CVT.
Why does the base model not have a button to open the trunk in the trunk itself. You have to use the fob or hit the button from inside the vehicle?
This is also the 1st legacy sport since 94, when they had the legacy ss (sport sedan)
@J Packard Joe said new for 2020, my bad.
Still not turbo like the ss was

and yes this car does need dual exhaust in the back but what it really needs joe is that new turbo for this sport model
I have this car but in red what is exhaust pipes gonna do if you put them on the back because I want my stuff to be louder and faster
Good idea!
How do you like I’m looking to get a new car thinking sticking with the legacy or get a tlx
Quad exhaust would be insane ! Really top it off also needs turbo
I totally agree with you Drew!
Well, I think that you convinced me. I presently have a 2018 Forester XT. Driving Uber, I think I would like the Legacy Sport for the MPG.
Wish you could've been at the Burb/Tahoe reveal Tuesday night. An after show Raiti review, especially the Z71, would have been awesome.
I wish I was invited! :-(
I like it because it does not have grill cancer like the Accord, the Camry, and the Altima.
So weird they dont have that sport sharp/intelligent for the turbo models. Very backwards to me
Awesome video!!
Very sleek exterior if you can get a blackout Subaru logo would be perfect and the exhaust like Joe said. Interior nice too 👌🏼
Thanks for letting me share this one with you!
Legacy Sport needs the option of the 2.4 Turbo. Doesn't have to be standard but definitely an option.
Is the 2020 model the same for 2021
Looks stealthy in black. Black quad exhaust would look good. Needs the turbo for being a sport. CVT?☹️ Nice job Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

Hey Joe . I noticed the car from the start is not the same one in the dirving test . What's the difference
I'd love to see Subaru offer a hybrid version with the xt engine
The wife was cracking up when you said keep your enemies safe also she almost wet her pants🤣😂JK
Is it possible to disable the cruise sensor?
Is it small on the inside? I'm looking into getting a new car and I love sedans I just don't like elbow to elbow type of sedans.
The car is everything but small. It's one of the bigger sedans out there, I think. No complaints
These black wheels, unlike the regular ones, are not one pattern fits all ones
Just found this video after looking at your Nissan Altima review.... 🤔 this might be a better option. Again thank you for your reviews
Thanks Erick for your great support!
Why get a high spec legacy when you can get a base WRX for the same price?
gauges in 5th gen legacy much better, here they are like downgraded. So will it accelerate faster in manual shift mode ?

Yeah, I don't get it. Subaru was doing it right with the Legacy GT. All the go without the bro.
