The US there are even events called “father/ daughter dance” where the little girls and their fathers dress up for a almost like a formal dance like they are going to a ball. It’s really adorable to say the least.

I always envied girls that were close with their dads. I always wonder what having that kind of support feels like. I hope when I have kids, they get to experience that fatherly love that I missed.

As a daughter myself, i’ve had this a closeness to my father. Even though, due to him being in the military and me being with my mom’s side of the family growing up, we are close. Some things he does is randomly calls to say hi, send “i love you, my daughter” texts, sometimes will just pop up in person to visit me, brags about me to everyone he sees, tells me how proud he is to be my father, etc…people sense, even though i don’t talk much about it, of how much closer i am to my father than i am with my mother. I feel so badly for my younger sister, as she still doesn’t know who her father is. So my father even offered to help be in her life like he does in my life, even though she’s not his biological child. My father has even helped my older brother in hard times when his father was never around for him. My brother even showed interest in becoming a police officer because my father was a police officer. All i have to say is that i don’t take for granted what you unfortunately didn’t have nor got to experience when it comes to father figures.

I’m really sorry you missed out on it. I have to admit: even at 47, I’m a daddy’s girl. I had a good, stable upbringing in general, I’m happy to say. (I wish my own kid’s life could’ve been the same, instead of growing up not even remembering your parents together, since we split when she was only two.)
I’m taking care of both of my parents full-time right now; they are 80 and 89, both in poor physical health, and both with dementia. But most of the time dad is still himself, and we get out of the house- get him out to do things.

@@gandalainsley6467 It doesn't mean your dad left, it means you could have a dad thats never there for you but is still present. Just like how i have a dad that doesn't dislike me or hate me, he never left but he never cares for my mental health and doesn't express that much love. We just are not close and i don't think he knows how to express a lot since his dad died at a young age

Milk thing just make's it funnier.

It’s mostly thanks to taking care of my skin ever since I was a teenager, especially avoiding the sun, which is really hard in Arkansas, where I live! Father-daughter relationships are so cute. I love seeing them represented in movies and I love including them in the stories I write 🥰 If you've ever heard the song "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman, that song always brings me to tears because it's about a father seeing his little girl grow up and he wants to spend every moment he can with her. The musician who wrote the song was inspired by the love he had for the children he had, including two little girls he and his wife adopted from China. A few years after writing the song, one of the girls was killed in a tragic accident. The song holds very special meaning in that regard as well, because fathers need to cherish the time they have with their kids, because you don't want to regret missing the chance later.

What I'm finding striking is the difference between the way South Korean dads are talked about and how I've seen North Korean dads described. I expected South Koreans to be stoic and right in between goofy U.S. dads and stern North Korean dads, but it sounds like at least with these two, they're very much like U.S. dads in not being much more than kids with responsibilities at heart. Of course, I'm averaging out. By no means are all dads anywhere exactly alike.

4:50 i used to keep my hair pulled back into a long braid that hug down past my butt. when she was around 1-1/2 or 2, my little one used to run past me at full speed, grab my hair, and swing up into the air. and each time, she made the EXACT same sound, "wwwwoooooOOOOOOAAAAAaaaahhhhh!!!"
(and she wonders why my neck hurts now.) funny thing is that now she has grown and has a family of her own, she doesn't let HER kids do it.

My dad is a very uninvolved person. His parents weren’t the best but I’ve still god some good memories, when we were little he used to toss my siblings and I in the air, let us use him as a jungle gym, put us on his legs and then flip us backwards into his arms. As we got older it became awkward for him I think because when he got older his mother got into drugs and his dad ran off on them, so he didn’t have that experience.
Now he’s more like a good friend, I only call him dad around certain family as not to piss them off and it’s very weird calling him dad. Sometimes I feel like he was just another older sibling…

I'm kinda jealous toward anybody who where close to their parents like a friend and close with their siblings like a friend to...cause I don't really have childhood memories like everyone else...the age gap between me and my parent was so big i was born when their already 50+ years old..and my eldest brother was 20 years when I born.. I'm the youngest one and the second young was 6 year older than me..since I was child I been care strictly cause since I born until I 6 years old..I always been hospital frecuantly...in one month I will always stay at hospital for 2/3 week..and my parents and my sibling always care me like a critical patient.... I'm always hoping that I can experience the relationship that like a friend with my family but... it's just a dream for me...
