Happy to see you continue, Afro. I've played this series when I was younger and thoroughly enjoyed it. That said, I have some basic tips. The orbs that drop from enemies can be used to charge your Ultimate Technique (Hold Triangle) button. As you're charging, the orbs will come to you and raise your charge level. Yellow orbs (currency) raise it by one level (two is needed for max, maximum charge is when you're glowing red) and blue orbs raise it to max. You can parry, it's with L1+Square or L1+Triangle. It's got a strict timing, though, at least I think it does. Also, try not to buy too many items from the shop as you will need the currency to upgrade your weapons (the katana you're using gives you an air combo that leads into Izuna Drop, which is Lee's Primary Lotus, when upgraded!) To equip your bow, you have to go to the menu and equip it (not sure how exactly to do it, but it's there). Afterwards, you use it like shuriken. The ammo is limited, however, so use it wisely. The Fire Wheel scroll you picked up is Ninpo, which are special moves that have great utility or deal high amounts of damage. You activate by pressing Triangle+Circle, and you refill by collecting red orbs. Have fun with Ninja Gaiden! Oh, and I hope you saved.
I'm not gonna lie I was cringing during the whole video, first of I was like...how the he'll you never played I NG before it's the most famous hack and slash with the Dmc series. And then I was like : (about the bow)just equip the damn thing already.. For the counter you need to find the scroll to unlock the ability, it's hidden somewhere in the city. If you missed it you still can buy it later in the muramasa shop. And another thing you have to prioritise weapon upgrade, the only way to unlock abilities and combos is by finding/buying scrolls and upgrading your weapons.

You can counter Afro, also charge your attacks with the orbs man…you have a whole move set you should try to learn. If your magic is full charge the red orbs everytime the charge attacks are op. Also your gonna pass up a lot of useful stuff trying to run from enemies…
The Ninja Gaiden series honestly has some of the deepest options you'll find in an action game in terms of defense. Blocking, rolling, dodging, the roll into forward jump combination, counter attacks, and general mobility/repositioning options like jumping off of enemies/ walls etc. It takes patience, this game can be punishing. When the original version came out Team Ninja, the dev team, claimed that they believed only about 20% of gamers possess the physical ability to beat this on hard....wait. He doesn't know about Master Ninja, does he? Edit: Corrected some dumbassery.
Something that will up your game is knowing that the moment you land, your attacks get sped up like crazy. If you press light attack when you land, you’ll do a 360 spin that hits everything, and if you land and press heavy attack, you instantly snap into that big charged attack. If there are some dead guys and they dropped some little orbs, land and hold heavy. You will instantly, and I mean within like 3 frames, absorb the orbs and launch a super powerful charged attack. It’s probably one of the most effective strats in the game.
So you're 1st time playing NG, one of the hardest games ever, and you put the game on hard mode. For those who are about to die, we salute you. Godspeed Afro.
Often times if one of these old games seems incredibly hard early on, it's because you're missing a key mechanic that was explained in the instruction manual. Wanting to go in blind is one thing, but when the game was actually relying on you to read the instructions that came with it, that's another thing entirely.
@@bbewlenibroc4570 I still use them...when not playing pc...(I'm more of an old head, so I don't have the new xbox (not a fan of the new playstations (ps2 being goated tho))) ngl one of my favourite games of that era is Tenchu 3 (wrath of the dragon.) I got back into playing on xbox (xbox one...again don't own the new one) not too long ago (not touching a console other than 360 and anything prior since I mainly play pc) and got on my xbox live account which I hadn't touched since 2014 lol (I used another one) so Nostalgia came in haha. Booklets are still nice to look at...especially when you can't access a controls option. Ever played the timesplitter series?
This game really encourages you to play like a ninja. Stop thinking about the roll spam and single-move abuses like in Soulsborne-kiro-ring games and embrace the way of the DRAGON NINJA... by reading some of the ingame manuals on how to equip spells and actual combo :)
A must know strat for older games like this is to backtrack to save stations after literally everything you do because the game will inevitably throw a inconceivably hard challenge that will lose you hours of progress if you didn’t backtrack to a save point.
@@TheDienhart depending on your playstyle elden ring can be a true slog when boss AI decides to be a true asshole. Until you finally become....HIM!
I love that this shows how different game design was. Very little handholding, but everything you needed to know was in the game if you just were patient enough to seek it out and READ 😂
Been watching since storm 4, I don’t say this often but I am genuinely proud of you. One of the best creators on this app fr! Enjoy the success you deserve it. Finally got to play persona 5 btw and omg😩😩😩
Afro is just HIM, homie But yeah, I'm proud of him too. I always got hyped up whenever he won against a boss that's made him suffer too long. Those bosses being Malenia, and Nameless King, NOBODY could forget him, Nameless.
Ryu is the biggest badass in gaming and Ninja Gaiden 2 is the best example of that, that game is hilarious. A lot of people didn't like 3 because it was 1. Too easy when it first dropped and 2. They "weakened" Ryu in the storyline. It's awesome seeing you play this series, they are some of my favorite games ever and I met my best friend through talking about Ninja Gaiden 2.
I beat this when it came out, just bought this collection and I’ve master ninja’d all of NSsigma. If you charge orbs(hold triangle) you get moves with i-frames and high damage attacks, dodge then immediate jump repeat is very useful for movement and closing gaps. Use your launcher(forward+triangle, also square then triangle) for juggle/air combos and I-frames once you unlock the izuna drop. I can’t wait until you meet Alma!
Make sure you're using the small potions when you need to heal just a little. The 'life of the gods' item you're getting levels up your health bar and the great elixir always heals 100% of it, so it's important to have those stocked up for boss fights
for this game, the camera is definitely your biggest enemy. That being said, the Ninja Gaiden series will always be top for me Btw you need to equip the bow to be able to use it lmao. the little thing below your health is your ultimate technique, you use it by pressing triangle and circle at the same time. the life of gods ( the blue circle orbs ) can be used to increase your maximum health. When you kill enemies, they drop three different orbs: The blue orb for healing, the red for refilling your ultimate technique, and the yellow for currency/strong attacks ( hold down triangle while next to a yellow orb to do a series of slashes )
From chapter 3 and so forth you’re gonna need to be on the look out for golden scarabs. There’s 50 in total in the game, collecting them gives you rewards based on how many you have.
Just in case you play again bro: the red spirits give you the flames you see under your health which are for your ninpo which you can use by hitting triangle and circle and the same time. You can also equip and switch ninpos in your menu as well as your weapons (like your bow). Your ninpo is like your spell btw which will help a lot in boss battles. And the Life of Gods stones you keep getting are also in your menu and you use them to get a longer HP bar after you collect a certain amount. You’ll know how many you’ll need by a circle that appears after you use them. Also as you upgrade your weapons at a black smith you’ll unlock new fighting combos which you can also view by going in the menu and going to your melee weapons. So yeah, definitely go into your menu a lot as you get more weapons (ranged and melee), ninpos, and life of gods. If you get something and don’t know what it is, check your menu. Also you can charge your heavy attack up to 2 levels (depending on how upgraded it is) and you can also use the spirits enemies drop to charge your ult faster; which is also helpful in boss battles since you can use the spirits that the fodder drop for more damage with your charged attack
AFRO Heads up on this message, I really want to see you go through NGS1 + NGS2 + NG3RE (RAZOR'S EDGE), I don't want to see you quit. so this is for you without spoiling anything hopefully. You gotta get a "little bit" of RUNNING START to do the Jump Slash attack you mentioned in the beginning. and also, for minions, (L=Light Attack / H=Heavy Attack)// L-H-L-L-L-H = IZUNA DROP for most times... Instant Minion Kill and SAFE AF. ALSO, You have to EQUIP your weapons in menu, Like your BOW and Bracelets and Main Weapons and NINPO, FYI NINPO IS CIRCLE+TRIANGLE at same time, some make you protected from everything during the attack. and rolling is important but In NG2, You can Dodge into Jump then Dodge into Jump for good mobility... dunno if that works in NG1. FYI (Weapons being Upgraded can INCREASE your DAMAGE and GIVE YOU MORE ATTACKS) AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST... Blue Orbs are Health / Yellow Orbs are Currency / Red Ords are for NINPO (Which don't drop often, save them for rainy day) /// (((ALL ORBS CAN BE ABSORBED BY CHARGING YOUR HEAVY ATTACK AND POWERING THE CHARGE WAY FASTER))) And The more Upgraded your weapons... the more charges you get to do a more devastating attack.
Also Collect any and ALL Golden Scarabs, You may need to back track later to be able to get some or you may need to stop and think if there is a special way to get to one, lik wall running or a key or secret pathway.
This game is extremely difficult, especially that you chose hard mode, so your in for a great challenge that will definitely make you rage quite a lot, so I wish you good luck on your journey through Ninja gaiden.

Bro, please keep up with this series. I know you like to figure things out in your own, so I won’t spoil anything. Just figure out what all the orbs do, save your currency for the later stages, and study your move set more. You got this.
the fight against the horsemen are so painfully annoying to watch, while also being way too funny. loving the series! would totally love to see you finish the trilogy.
Bro. I intrinsically cannot believe agro is really playing this for real. He always talks about how he is "him". Although this game is what turned boys into protagonists back in the day. Think less of the souls formula and more like DMC level combat with souls health. Also you started one of the hardest ninja garden games on hard so it's your own fault for that but honest to god you need that. It's a christening... The key to this game is muscle memory and reaction time. It's a fast game, but get that reaction time down and memorize 4 combos and this will be clean for you. Bro, we need them likes this is a must continue series. How is afros entire channel built on naruto but he has never played the og of the OG's.
Ninja Gaiden is a skill and reflex demanding game. Respect to anyone that beat the game on Master Ninja difficulty with no damage. That's a real gaming achievement imo.
To everyone liking this series so he continues… bless you. I'm surprised nobody ever talks about the Onimusha games. It's just as hard as this game except its harder because it uses resident evil 2 style cameras.
Ninja Gaiden has one of the hardest gaming achievements due to the difficulty level, the skill level and the fact that it requires you to play online with other player of the same skill level
Isn't that NG3 or if I remember correctly NGB had like a online tournament where if your score was higher you would be at the top of the rackings or something?
@@Iamgoldman In NG2 and NG3 I have done the Tests of Valor or so it's called in NG3 but the Fiend Challenges where you have to backtrack to certain locations in NGB on Master Ninja forget it the Vigoorian Berserkers felt like a whole boss having to fight two or three is suicidal.
So I dont wanna tell you what to do Afro, but I highly reccomend looking up a control guide or some pictures of it to help you out. the old ninja gaiden games expected you to have read the guide before playing. Also there is equipment that you aren't using.(Enjoy the ninpo) Good luck bro cant wait to see you become the real HIM! By the way I got to play ninja gaiden black on the old Xbox and yeah the controls do not look like they aged well 😂
Light attack + jump then heavy attack usually locks on for me when done that way, normal jumping towards enemy + heavy attack doesn't target enemies unless their in that direction and you need to equip the bow from the menu and your ninja arts, you have to use the item menu as your tutorial. Love your videos and looking forward for more.
im pretty sure you need the guillotine throw scroll before X+A/ Square+Cross will track enemies. might be wrong but im pretty siure thats the only reason why that tracks enemies
Can i just say I’m hella juiced that your playing this game. Makes me even happier that you found out about the “jump attack” on your own. My friend put me onto it,but I mastered it before he did. Ah man, good times
So who's gonna explain to him how to switch weapons and use magic? We all know Afro's not gonna read or even explore the menu cause he's too real for that.
Man please continue this series I’m playing these atm and it’s great to see other perspectives also you need to equip the bow in order to use it I don’t think you have it equiped
Afro this whole thing is a skill issue 😂 like I just played through this park and figured out immediately I can equip stuff idk what this man got going on
The nostalgia I am currently feeling is insane... playing ninja gaiden when I was younger is part of the reason why I would sometimes wanna be a ninja as a kid 🤣
Afro, if I can be honest, I started a RUclips channel near the end of 2020, I officially started with Ghost of Tsushima and I wanted to play older games because I hadnt been able to experience them during their peak. Ninja Gaiden was one of the series I wanted to do, but when I started to work full time I lacked the time management skills to keep it going. So while I’m very envious of you, I’m glad I can at least experience these games through you.
That terrifying moment in the dark abyss of every single video game known to man when you inevitably reach that precipice... 'Can I swim in this game or not?''
Let me put you on game with some moves: 1) Square+X at the same time give you a flash jump(i believe it’s in the first game) 2) the Inazuna Drop will be your best combo against mobs, it’s Square, Triangle, Square, Square, Square, Triangle. 3) you have to manually equip the bow in the menu(i haven’t finished the video so idk if you did it yet) 4) don’t go the right way first, find all the items so you can make upgrades and don’t have to buy healing items. 5) Circle+Triangle uses the magic you picked up(you have to equip this too) 6)look into your menu at your weapons to see the combos you can do.
Had no clue how I beat this game as a young teenager on my original Xbox. Fun to watch afro struggle and still do good even though he's not using half of the suite of techniques that he has available at this point. Running jump Y attack is goated. Gotta use them air combos too son!
One of the best underrated games of all time! You have to equip weapons and accessories in the pause menu. Play aggressively but also block and parry whenever you need to. Always be on the move and try not to be stationary for too long. Always save whenever you can, back tracking can be annoying lol. The camera angles can be fixed with the press of a button. Wall attacks can be great help against enemies.
Ok afro a few tips: 1) Check your weapon for the moveset 2) you have to equip ranged weapons like the bow before you can use them 3) Upgrading your weapons makes them stronger AND unlocks new moves, one of which you really want on the sword, trust me 4) This game has a lot of secrets so exploration will net you extra health, wepaons and even new moves at points.
Bro, Afro, everyday I go to the gym around the same time, by the time I come home I just open up the app and your vid’s be the first recommended. It’s become a tradition for the past almost 40 days. Love the vid’s man, you getting a view and a like every vid just cause you that entertaining to watch, regardless of what you play, keep having fun my boi
Hey, Afro. Don’t feel discouraged by the game’s difficulty. The game certainly has its tough moments, but as you upgrade your weapons and learn more of the mechanics, you get more and more into the swing of it. You can do this!
Tips. You have to go in the menu and equip your ninja arts bows weapons. Upon equip you can hit one of the face buttons ( says which one on the bottom right ) and it will tell you the combos. Yellow is orb is money but also makes your hold down triangle ( UT aka ultimate technique ) charge up to lvl one and lvl 2 way faster. Blue is heal and red is ninja art. Devil elixir also fills ninja art. You got this
The problem is you’re playing on hard so it doesn’t teach you how to play and what combos you can do and what the orbs mean or jitsu you can use. When this game give you a new weapon or power it’s most likely what you will need to beat the level. Those horses aren’t bad if you head shot them and knock them off, that’s why they gave you so many so you could get practice for the boss. This game is so far in my memory but I do believe the combat is much better with much more combos in the other games, plus I could’ve sworn this game had a pretty good counter system
it does but you gotta *UNLOCK IT BY UPGRADING YOUR WEAPONS* Y'know, the thing he specifically DIDNT do in this video. Afro's problem right now is he's letting the part of him that's the memelord side of FFXIV run rampant: refusing to read anything. All he gotta do is stop trying to rush shit (which is ironic cause this is a game where being fast is good, IF you know what you're doing) and actually open some menus and read and pay attention and it'll be SO much less pointless stress. This aint like the Malenia fight where she just pulls horseshit sometimes, this is literally "learn your goddamn buttons!" The Game.
When ur playing look at all u got in ur inventory for example the red orbs 🔴 ur absorbing is for ur ninpos. The bow 🏹 is a separate item then ur shuriken ⭐ in ur inventory 🟡-money 🔵-health 🔴-Ninpo I feel u can do it but it certainly test u.
I'm enjoying watching this, but you're much stronger than me. I would have dropped this so fast from the experience I see you having. Thank you for your pain sensei, it is appreciated.
I watched my brother play the game so much as a kid. During the time when covid suddenly became a thing, I decided to play it for the first time and honestly yes it was annoying when fighting bosses, but I finished it somehow lol.
The Souls series is heralded for its epic boss fights. Ninja Gaiden is heralded for its difficult pile-ons, and cunning nature of the regular enemies in between boss fights
the red orbs are for your ninja abilities like the fire wheel or whatever it was called. scrolls are new abilities and combos. make sure you scroll through your inventory whenever you get something new and click around. you should also have some gauntlet that gives you more healing with the blue orbs
oh yeah also you know when you can use your ability when that little flame under your health bar is lit but you have to equip the ability first then press triangle and circle at the same time
Once you get the hang of it, the game will be less stressful but patience is key for sure :) A few tips I recommend tho: - You can pause and look at the combos that your weapon can do. I forgot what you need to press but once you select the weapon you want to use, you have an option to look at a combo list - The camera is the number one enemy in the game tbh 😅 but you can reset the camera to the center of Ryus back by hitting R1 anytime you want - Yellow essence are important to upgrade your weapons, all the weapons that you can upgrade have 3 levels. Try to upgrade the dragon sword to level 2 and either purchase or find a scroll called “the Izuna Drop.” With those 2 things you’ll be able to kill a lot of enemies. Make sure that you look at the combo list so you can perform this combos :) - Most enemies will break your guard and they will damage you. Try to roll your way out once they do that so you’ll be safe from a hit, sometimes they will try to grab you and once they do, they’ll cause a lot of damage - The item called “Life of the Gods” that you picked up from this episode, you can go to the pause menu and use it to make your health bar bigger. You’ll need 9 of these so exploring is important too or you can find another item called “Life of a thousand gods” and that will make your health bar bigger faster. -You can charge the yellow, blue and red essence for a Ultimate attack (I think that’s what it’s called 😅) Hope this helps and I do apologize if I misspelled something, English is my second language :))
If I'm not mistaken, you can do the izuna drop with every weapon, so it doesn't matter which weapon he upgrades. Plus, it's a waste to upgrade the dragon sword if you're trying to upgrade every weapon
@@cetrinea Nope. You can't. That didn't get added in until NG2, Only the sword and nunchucks can do it iirc (and I think the lunar as well). But, you def want the sword at level 2
Yo Afro! You can change your equipment from the ninja star to the bow! Also the Lives of a thousand gods will increase your total health bar! And the Ninpo is equippable, the ninjutsus are useful!
Ninja gaiden 2 is amazing! Alot of improvements, weapons, and still has difficulty. I know you'd love it, I hope you continue the games after this first one it's so great to watch you play older games espically this game line.
Loving this, but you're playing a notoriously hard game on hard mode. It's going to be hard. It's not the age of the game. This game is awesome. It was just as hard when it came out.
36 years old. Played this game back in it day. Master Ninja here. Still have the video footage too. Most footage is from Co-op with another Master Ninja friend. Alot of love for thos game.
There’s a move that lets you jump and fly at the enemy with your sword often removes the enemies head from their body! Helps with big crowds of enemies or quick and annoying enemies
Def keep playing this series. The way games are nowadays are too hand holdy and games like this were actually more challenging and made you play differently. Keep it up
Best fighting trick, charging triangle pulls in souls but takes a while. If you jump and then hold triangle as you land, you'll instantly pull in all the souls around and charge to max. Instead of like 3 seconds, it's under a second to charge. And roll then jump, repeatedly, is equivalent to a dash/sprint. Also upgrade your sword, look through the menu, read the items that you pick up and what they do, check combos. You used the thousand lives yet? The izuna drop is the most enjoyable combo, find it, learn it, live it Old school games require you to be inquisitive. And be careful, it is possible to get stuck before a boss with no heals and only solution is to win lol. Lastly, you chose hard mode, it effectively adds minions to bosses and upgrades all enemies among other things. Imagine playing Elden Ring on hard mode first time lool
Ninja Gaiden is a must continue series

Happy to see you continue, Afro. I've played this series when I was younger and thoroughly enjoyed it. That said, I have some basic tips.
The orbs that drop from enemies can be used to charge your Ultimate Technique (Hold Triangle) button. As you're charging, the orbs will come to you and raise your charge level. Yellow orbs (currency) raise it by one level (two is needed for max, maximum charge is when you're glowing red) and blue orbs raise it to max.
You can parry, it's with L1+Square or L1+Triangle. It's got a strict timing, though, at least I think it does.
Also, try not to buy too many items from the shop as you will need the currency to upgrade your weapons (the katana you're using gives you an air combo that leads into Izuna Drop, which is Lee's Primary Lotus, when upgraded!)
To equip your bow, you have to go to the menu and equip it (not sure how exactly to do it, but it's there).

Tip: you have to actually equip the bow before using it, same goes for the art of the fire wheel
I'm cringing right now as I watch this video, jus equip it man 😂

So you're 1st time playing NG, one of the hardest games ever, and you put the game on hard mode. For those who are about to die, we salute you. Godspeed Afro.
Often times if one of these old games seems incredibly hard early on, it's because you're missing a key mechanic that was explained in the instruction manual. Wanting to go in blind is one thing, but when the game was actually relying on you to read the instructions that came with it, that's another thing entirely.
Damn I forgot all about those booklets that came in the case with the game 😲 that was like 20 years ago lol we're getting old in this comment section

A must know strat for older games like this is to backtrack to save stations after literally everything you do because the game will inevitably throw a inconceivably hard challenge that will lose you hours of progress if you didn’t backtrack to a save point.

Ryu is the biggest badass in gaming and Ninja Gaiden 2 is the best example of that, that game is hilarious. A lot of people didn't like 3 because it was 1. Too easy when it first dropped and 2. They "weakened" Ryu in the storyline.

I’m loving this series
I beat this when it came out, just bought this collection and I’ve master ninja’d all of NSsigma. If you charge orbs(hold triangle) you get moves with i-frames and high damage attacks, dodge then immediate jump repeat is very useful for movement and closing gaps. Use your launcher(forward+triangle, also square then triangle) for juggle/air combos and I-frames once you unlock the izuna drop. I can’t wait until you meet Alma!
Fun fact: The Samurai were mounted warriors who typically used bows on horses behind their armies.
Make sure you're using the small potions when you need to heal just a little. The 'life of the gods' item you're getting levels up your health bar and the great elixir always heals 100% of it, so it's important to have those stocked up for boss fights
for this game, the camera is definitely your biggest enemy. That being said, the Ninja Gaiden series will always be top for me
Btw you need to equip the bow to be able to use it lmao. the little thing below your health is your ultimate technique, you use it by pressing triangle and circle at the same time. the life of gods ( the blue circle orbs ) can be used to increase your maximum health. When you kill enemies, they drop three different orbs: The blue orb for healing, the red for refilling your ultimate technique, and the yellow for currency/strong attacks ( hold down triangle while next to a yellow orb to do a series of slashes )
Also there are more than one damn combo just look in the menu
@@qwty7979 this too lol. Just spamming heavy attack or light light light heavy, won't work for long.
In short: *_Menu, menu, menu, menu, menu-_*
FYI (Weapons being Upgraded can INCREASE your DAMAGE and GIVE YOU MORE ATTACKS)
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST... Blue Orbs are Health / Yellow Orbs are Currency / Red Ords are for NINPO (Which don't drop often, save them for rainy day) ///
(((ALL ORBS CAN BE ABSORBED BY CHARGING YOUR HEAVY ATTACK AND POWERING THE CHARGE WAY FASTER)))
And The more Upgraded your weapons... the more charges you get to do a more devastating attack.
Also Collect any and ALL Golden Scarabs, You may need to back track later to be able to get some or you may need to stop and think if there is a special way to get to one, lik wall running or a key or secret pathway.

Ninja Gaiden has one of the hardest gaming achievements due to the difficulty level, the skill level and the fact that it requires you to play online with other player of the same skill level

That terrifying moment in the dark abyss of every single video game known to man when you inevitably reach that precipice...
'Can I swim in this game or not?''
Let me put you on game with some moves:
1) Square+X at the same time give you a flash jump(i believe it’s in the first game)
2) the Inazuna Drop will be your best combo against mobs, it’s Square, Triangle, Square, Square, Square, Triangle.
3) you have to manually equip the bow in the menu(i haven’t finished the video so idk if you did it yet)
4) don’t go the right way first, find all the items so you can make upgrades and don’t have to buy healing items.
5) Circle+Triangle uses the magic you picked up(you have to equip this too)
6)look into your menu at your weapons to see the combos you can do.
Your consistency and quality of content never disappoints 💜

Play aggressively but also block and parry whenever you need to.
Always be on the move and try not to be stationary for too long.
Always save whenever you can, back tracking can be annoying lol.
The camera angles can be fixed with the press of a button.
Wall attacks can be great help against enemies.

Ok afro a few tips:
1) Check your weapon for the moveset
2) you have to equip ranged weapons like the bow before you can use them
3) Upgrading your weapons makes them stronger AND unlocks new moves, one of which you really want on the sword, trust me
4) This game has a lot of secrets so exploration will net you extra health, wepaons and even new moves at points.
Kinda funny that he chooses hard and gets mad when it's hard. But respect for a first timer to choose hard.
This game is so far in my memory but I do believe the combat is much better with much more combos in the other games, plus I could’ve sworn this game had a pretty good counter system
it does but you gotta *UNLOCK IT BY UPGRADING YOUR WEAPONS*
Y'know, the thing he specifically DIDNT do in this video.

@@TunaPetunia456 the bosses are the easiest part if you know how to deal with them
The Souls series is heralded for its epic boss fights. Ninja Gaiden is heralded for its difficult pile-ons, and cunning nature of the regular enemies in between boss fights
*clears throat* "get gud"
the red orbs are for your ninja abilities like the fire wheel or whatever it was called. scrolls are new abilities and combos. make sure you scroll through your inventory whenever you get something new and click around. you should also have some gauntlet that gives you more healing with the blue orbs
oh yeah also you know when you can use your ability when that little flame under your health bar is lit but you have to equip the ability first then press triangle and circle at the same time
If you ain't liking the vid so he continues this series you're bugging, Afro on Ninja Gaiden is about to go crazy
Once you get the hang of it, the game will be less stressful but patience is key for sure :)
A few tips I recommend tho:
- You can pause and look at the combos that your weapon can do. I forgot what you need to press but once you select the weapon you want to use, you have an option to look at a combo list
- The camera is the number one enemy in the game tbh 😅 but you can reset the camera to the center of Ryus back by hitting R1 anytime you want
- Yellow essence are important to upgrade your weapons, all the weapons that you can upgrade have 3 levels. Try to upgrade the dragon sword to level 2 and either purchase or find a scroll called “the Izuna Drop.” With those 2 things you’ll be able to kill a lot of enemies. Make sure that you look at the combo list so you can perform this combos :)
- Most enemies will break your guard and they will damage you. Try to roll your way out once they do that so you’ll be safe from a hit, sometimes they will try to grab you and once they do, they’ll cause a lot of damage
- The item called “Life of the Gods” that you picked up from this episode, you can go to the pause menu and use it to make your health bar bigger. You’ll need 9 of these so exploring is important too or you can find another item called “Life of a thousand gods” and that will make your health bar bigger faster.
-You can charge the yellow, blue and red essence for a Ultimate attack (I think that’s what it’s called 😅)
Hope this helps and I do apologize if I misspelled something, English is my second language :))
Nah you really thought Ryu was soft. You're not THAT guy, your a Lesser Ninja bro accept it😏
I know I'm late but bro Really struggled on Chapter One and ON NORMAL MODE I'm starting to questioning his skills in Elden Ring
A quick tip if you do continue this game series, Afro: do NOT upgrade the dragon sword. It'll get fully upgraded at the end of the game anyway.
You don't get izuna drop iirc without upgrade
The fact that he got almost 60k likes in almost an hour should prove to him that we genuinely enjoy watching him have a mental breakdown
The pause menu is essential. There are equiptable items that boost certain stats you already have. Check out your weapons and look at techniques.
Throwing a single shuriken before the end of a combo lets you reastart a whole new combo.
The fact you said 3 is a glow up to the series made me type this comment and click off the video
Loved this series years ago but was never able to finish it.... I’m pulling for ya...LETS GO!!!!!
This game made me rage hard when this game came out. My god I don’t miss it

Alot of love for thos game.
I’d love to see Afro play Nioh 2 again
There’s a move that lets you jump and fly at the enemy with your sword often removes the enemies head from their body! Helps with big crowds of enemies or quick and annoying enemies
Def keep playing this series. The way games are nowadays are too hand holdy and games like this were actually more challenging and made you play differently. Keep it up
Been playing this since it came out in the 80's gotta say I love watching this video from someone that had never played it before.
9:24 Holy shit I haven't laughed this hard in ages! The way he just keeps getting knocked down by the horses 😂😂😂
The izuna drop is the most enjoyable combo, find it, learn it, live it
Old school games require you to be inquisitive.
And be careful, it is possible to get stuck before a boss with no heals and only solution is to win lol.
Lastly, you chose hard mode, it effectively adds minions to bosses and upgrades all enemies among other things. Imagine playing Elden Ring on hard mode first time lool
I'm glad to see you're enjoying the game! One of my favorite game series and these videos made me want to get the collection again
