Jerrod’s been one of the most inspirational people to me personally for awhile. Every time he does any type of talks likes these I rush to them. Truly a remarkable human being.
Jay... Your ability to elleviate the tension expressed through Jerrod's body language unveiled a sensitive, intelligent, caring human being. I don't understand how a child's sexual preference impacts a relationship between a parent and child, then to add the component that God condones that rejection of a loved one. 😢 However, bless Jerrod and Jay for making it through this interview. It was definitely worth it.
This is one of my absolute favourite episodes on your podcast Jay. Thank you so much Jerrod for your beautiful vulnerability and honesty. I feel so privileged to be "in the room" for this.
Powerful episode. Honesty with oneself is a powerful tool for personal growth and connection with others. When we embrace our vulnerabilities and acknowledge any shame we may carry, it becomes easier to open up and form genuine connections. By being authentic and owning our experiences, we create an environment of trust and understanding, allowing others to do the same.
Wonderful episode. I listened on Google Podcast and came here to say thank you. I could feel the vulnerability and wanted to see Jerrod's body language. Shame is my greatest struggle, and this episode was so relatable. ❤
This was a great conversation! Jerrod dropped gems, i especially loved the concept of the divine living through you everyday versus a detached god you can admire and interact with from afar.
I think that's a sign of healing when you're able to laugh at the things that used to cause you pain. You were born into this huge space where moments are shortly experienced over a lifetime, if able to live a long life. If you actually enjoyed your life in 100 years it may seem too short.
Since I found Jay Shetty podcast it's like each brain cell inside me is learning something new...thank you for all this wisdom your sharing....can't wait when you have a talk with Tyler Perry and Steve Harvey
What a beautiful engaging interview. I’m not familiar with Gerard but I loved the ease with which he shared his truth. You both have a beautiful relaxed genuine bond which comes across. I will certainly look him up now. Looking forward to your next interview with him. He’s just so likable 🙏🏻 thank you Jay and Gerard for this. I was painting while listening.
Thank you for sharing this powerful video featuring Jerrod Carmichael discussing anxiety and the courage to speak up about our fears. His honest and relatable insights provide a valuable perspective on mental health, inspiring viewers to confront their own anxieties and embrace vulnerability. This video is a reminder that we are not alone in our struggles, and I appreciate the positive impact it has on raising awareness and fostering important conversations. Thank you for shedding light on such an important topic.
Loved this! I’m a big fan of Jerrod and it’s wonderful to learn more about him as a person and an artist. His commitment to raw honesty is really inspiring and what makes exceptional art what it it is.
I admire Carmichael's commitment to authenticity on social media. Has anyone else found it challenging to balance personal privacy with sharing their true selves online?
It’s currently a battle that I’m trying to unpack & navigate. Especially in regards to content creation. It’s a constant battle of push & pull - a pull for wanting a creative outlet & the “pushing it all away” to maintain & preserve authenticity & warmth in my life. 😅
This is what I wanted to point out and bring clarity to. I have come to learn from certain people that are authentic and still private. There has to be a difference between the job/work/public and then your personal life. Having a private life does not mean it is a secret. A secret is hidden even from the people in your private life. You cannot say ''you did not openly discuss your depression'' well that is a private matter. I discuss it with my therapist and my family and it is not a secret, it is private. Unless I want to share it and it is part of my work. The lines here are thin and blurry between secrecy and privacy because of societal pressure (social media in this case).

Jerrod what's this thing you've started doing for putting your hand in your shirt...I know you probably do it innocently but my brain can't help but interpret it as a 'gay tendency' which is wrong of me but it is what it is. I love your work though, I think you're one of the greats!!!
Seems pretty bold to claim to be the number one health and wellness podcast with "only" 1.33M subscribers. I don't know who the number one podcast is but Andrew Huberman has 3.49M subscribers. So that claim is pretty "shetty".

Loved listening to his well laid out thought process and talking openly on processing shame. Jerrod is a very intelligent young person.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Thanks, I needed to read that today.
Love how much intention Jerrod lives his life with

Shifting that "life happens to us" to "life comes from us" can change the way you live
