    These were two amazing people who actually cared about people. They didn't care if you were rich or poor left or on the right they just wanted everyone to be happy and they were going to do whatever it took to make that happen. I remember Jimmy Carter was really keen on doing habitat for humanity and worked on several homes.
    They were truly heroes for the people. And being married for 77 years in and of itself is truly amazing and wonderful. Bless this couple for their good deeds and their good works.

      No! This is the worst president, in my lifetime, in regards to foreign affairs. Their racism and stupidity cost the entire world dearly. If not for Carter's utter stupidity, inn letting the ayatollah return to Iran, Iran would be a democratic county today. Not the biggest source of terrorism. It was Carter, who strong-armed Israel into accepting the Arab invaders, occupying Yudah and Shomron, that is responsible for all the terror Israel is facing today. I hope they both suffer greatly, considering the needless pain they've inflicted on others.

    I was told “thoughts and prayers” didn’t help or accomplish anything. What happened?

    • @juliachildress2943
      @juliachildress2943 Год назад

      Thoughts and prayers are not the answer to gun violence. Prayer is powerful, but humans have to be active participants in healing the world. This idea began at the beginning when God gave his human partners dominion over creation. Humans have to give up their selfish insistence that guns are not the problem.

    • @roejogan7770
      @roejogan7770 Год назад

      @@juliachildress2943 So how do thoughts and prayers help with dementia?

    • @juliachildress2943
      @juliachildress2943 Год назад

      @Roe Jogan That's a good question. First, prayer can change the attitude and behaviors of the one praying. For example, if I pray for someone, it means they are in my thoughts and I will be more likely to reach out with gestures of love and comfort like making food, sending a card, going for a visit. Second, when I enter into a state of prayer, my mind becomes calm and i find it easier to sort through problems and dilemmas and work on solutions to things I struggle with, like my sometimes bad temper. Then there's the spiritual side. Speaking from a Christian perspective, humans are physical beings (at least I hope we're not just living in the matrix, lol), but also spiritual beings. Prayer connects us not just with the Divine, but with each other, and it can produce a sense of peace and hope in those praying and in those prayed for. I won't know until the end how the book turns out, but I do know that my life is better for having prayed regularly and having been prayed for.
