I couldn’t find a cheap RX1R II, and didn’t really want a fixed lens camera like the Fuji, so I went with a used Sony A7R3. Same sensor as the RX1R II, much bigger battery, 5 axis IBIS, and you can pick up a used one for around $1k. I added a Sony 35mm f1.8, and it’s basically a bigger version of the RX1R II, but with interchangeable lenses. I carry the 20mm, 35mm, and the 50mm 1.8 lenses, all excellent light weight lenses. For video, I just use the new DJI Pocket 3 that I wear with a lanyard around my neck. The Fuji and the RX1R are nice cameras, but you are stuck with one lens.

Glad I crossed your video, you won a subscriber. Lol!! I bought the X100V at it's original price, one the X100VI I did not have interest in upgrading, now I am.

I was keen on getting a Fujifilm X100. However, at some point Fujifiilm started to bloat their prices. I lost interest. Fujifilm also moved production from Japan to China for the latest iteration. Everyone believed that this was to counteract the shortages and having a better supply chain. and lower prices in the end. However, Fujifilm has kept that artifical shortage. Fujifilm increased even more the price of the camera and comes in at 1800 bucks. This is an galactically insane price.
If it does not need to be compact, then go for a camera with interchangeable lenses. Otherwise an Iphone is just fine.

How does it compares to the Sony RX1R II you reviewed with the X100V?
It goes for around $1900-2000 used.

The film recipes for the x100vi far outrank anything you can get on the rxrii. Both are great for travel, both are great for something compact. One of the main advantages the Sony has over the Fuji is the fact that it is full frame. Which will allow you to print larger images and maintain quality, if that is not a priority then I think the Fuji is the way to go. Both are great cameras with different features that set them apart from one another.

I think you’ve chosen the wrong hobby if you need a camera to “inspire” you to go out and shoot.
