Funny you should put it like that. One thing the Grinch and Jack have in common is that their enemies don't have much going on for them in the brains department.
I mean, even though it wouldn't have stopped the Grinch's rocket powered sleigh, if Mayor May Who was smart he'd have plugged up those Dumpit to Krumpit with quick dry cement to prevent the Grinch from coming back to Whoville. Also it would have added more to the story by giving the Grinch a reason to build his sleigh in the first place.
Likewise, if Oogie Boogie was smart, he would have dangled poor Sally over a giant pot of hot water because he would have realized that a big piece of cloth filled with leaves would make a better teabag than a stewing ingredient.
I was also all about Jack until the Grinch whipped out that “you know what’s dangerous about that? ITS A CULT!” line and it was all over.

Honestly I’m biased towards nightmare but I love both but grinch did win me there until jack gave the burn with ravenscroft.
Even the grinch gave jack a point, and sally with “we got it right the first time” was savage.

Jack and Sally makeup/ prosthetics don't look as good as the grinch
cause they've been there longer then the grinch and their makeup is getting old
Jacks upper head prosthetic looks really bad, it doesn’t match colour of his lower jaw and it doesn’t even look properly blended with that gap in between

Awesome as always! I like how at the end the Grinch mentions his Halloween tradition. Maybe next year they can bring up that in Whoville, “Halloween is Grinch Night” and he gets extra superpowers on that night. That and the terrifying Paraphernalia Wagon.

I’ve been watching this since year one and it’s insane to see the change in makeup, costuming, jokes, actors etc. I will forever be an NBC fan and this Jack did a fine job but I really miss the old Jack from earlier debates. Grinch kinda slayed it this year.
