Thanks everyone for your comments! I really appreciate them! I made this mainly for myself and I'm so happy it already has two thousand views! People around the world have heard the Gospel of John in Greek two thousand times. So fantastic. I myself never studied Greek grammar much. But I just listened over and over to the recording and read the interlinear Greek gospel of John over and over word by word and now when I hear the first few chapters of John it sounds really natural to me. Without learning any grammar. Actually, I'm not sure if I believe in grammar. English grammar says "to be" changes to "am" for first person, "are" for second person singular (you), and "is" for third person singular (he, she and it). But another way to approach it is just to remember "I am", "You are" and "She is, he is, it is" without calling it grammar. That's the was I study John. I just read it over and over again and listen over and over until it sounds natural. And then afterwards I can read a grammar book for entertainment and think, Yes, that's the way they do say it... But if you start with analysis and grammar the language might go into the wrong part of your brain and you might end up just analyzing forever and never really making it part of yourself. Anyways, I too really like this video. Everyone should download it just in case it's taken down someday for who knows what reason. I'm really busy recently but I'll try to eventually put up more good Greek videos. Thanks everyone for enjoying this together with me. I'm really so happy this already has 2,000 views. I hope the video has made a lot of people happy and helped them appreciate the gospel of John. What a blessing to be able to read and listen to the gospel in the same words that it was written! God bless everyone who has watched it. We're truly, to paraphrase, Where two thousand have gathered together in my name I'm there with you.
Thank you for posting I am just starting my journey into Greek and going about it by listening and learning word meaning and getting a good feel for how it is spoken then I can focus on grammar and declension and past present future tense it is a lot to try and learn at first so I figure get right into it
I have been happily using your helpful sight for over 8 months now and I have gotten throught the book of john with its help. I go through the whole book several times a week to familiarize my self more and more. I wish I had the technical skill that you have so that I could contribute to the cause as you have of helping greek students. One comment. I see that the audio is from the received text as are most of the native speakers audio versions I have found while the written text seems to be the wescot and hort if I am not mistaken. That would explain the differences. If you would be willing to show me how you did it I would be glad to take in the project of say another of the gospels or maybe the book of acts and put it on RUclips for people to use with out commercials as you have so graciously done.
Please, PLEASE can you do the other Gospels and more of the New Testament also? Your reading speed is PERFECT!!!! I SO LOVE THE INTERLINEAR ALSO!!!
Thank you!
This is really great ... thanks for posting it ... great to read along with it!
