But you fail to consider that if the text read "present day" it would technically be days of future past and that's a whole nother movie

it was trying to put some tension with the romantic side. Just remember they were friends before they were "enemies".. they just have different world views and how to fix it but still even played chess at the end. it would have been interesting to see what they would have done for the 4th. instead they decided to rebooot.. but, I have to admit I liked where they started back from.. wasn't a huge fan of how the bad guy was but, wasn't horrible. Now the question is, what power would you want and why?
