It would be cool if you could then put a shirt on the body types and ask which they'd prefer. I am willing to bet a lot more people would choose the muscle type because that really shows through a shirt
Depends on what shirt type of shirt they're wearing and what they're wearing it with I mean if u wear a comfortable outfit The only thing that will most probably girls would be able to recognise is arms
you're reaching there bud. Dad bod would come on through as much as well as skinny...this isn't new science: muscles are like beards...confidence boosters but its from the lads....
@@RayyanKhanRayyanKhan the part where you think girls will like it more because it shows through a shirt when they all can...but if you didn't get it the first time u probably won't get it again.
You probably won’t see this but in pictures people look bigger and more freaky. Try this in real life both with a shirt off I think the results would be different
@@pjb2 You can definitively look smaller on pictures. Depends on lens, frame and angle. Lens distortion can make some body parts appear bigger and some smaller, angles can do the same, and frame can hide some body parts making other look bigger in relation. So, for example, if you take a picture from above, angle the body at 45 degrees and frame out the head your arm and shoulders are going to look huge, now take the picture from below with a forward lean and arms back and they'll look tiny.
Why I Workout (From most to least important): 1. To improve myself in the sense of being more strong and fit 2. To aesthetically improve myself (With an emphasis on attracting girls but also to have more presence when dealing with men) 3. To get out of the house
I feel the same and is awesome cause when i take my shirt off and look yourself in the mirror sometimes i can believe my eyes and is hard sometimes to grasp that the person there is really me you know? Is like the relif of getting a 100 on a university exam but without the stress of failing it.
You should consider the Error of central tendency. In surveys people always tend to choose an answer in the middle and not an extreme. I am pretty sure you had different results if you also used body types of even bigger bodybuilders.
I agree it your comment matches up very well with what they were all saying too. One person would gravitate toward the centre and then all of the other girls would follow and meet almost like a group mutual decision.
@Zhongli - The Listener probably you're just not eating enough protein (eggs, meat, etc.) and food in general, working out as much as you think (working out without challenging yourself) or just not giving yourself enough time to grow, just keep in the work and the results will come bro 💪
Another factor to consider: Girls are mostly in groups and one girl's choice can influence the others. Consider the exchange at 5:28. One girl said skinny and all the other 2 did so too. At the end, skinny only had 4 votes. So, the first girl's choice likely has the strongest impact on the choice of the other girls. This probably has the effect of siphoning the votes from the less popular options to the most popular option since the first vote is likelier to be for the most popular option. That being said, there's no question in my mind that people prefer type 3. But, due to the above, we probably didn't get a proper assessment for the other types.
Men and women have different approaches to success. Women play a more social game and seek protection in groups so they are more likely to follow the crowd, while men are more likely to be loners. You can look up various studies that have come to this conclusion.
There is a psychological study about this called, "Asch conformity experiments". Where people will chose an answer that participants before them chose, even though they do not believe that to be the right answer or answer they believe to be true. Showing the conformity that takes place.
“You don’t self improve to get girls, you self improve so you don’t sit there and deal with the inevitable bullshit that comes with the girls.” -Freshandfit

I have to say that as a woman I would choose the lean guy on the picture, but Nathaniel looks really good on video (maybe because he is not flexing his muscles and by seeing all the body he looks more harmlnious than in picture)
I’m really surprised tbh, perhaps Nathaniel should’ve had a diff pic with a better pose. Or it might be because of his abs, they look misaligned and not flexed hard enough
its not only with girls ....non gym goers (boys ) also say that they dont like these physiques but actually they cant feel these .....they cant see hardwork or tbh they cant do such hardwork
I lost a bunch of weight and hit the gym, I was told by a few tinder dates that I shouldn't get "ripped", turns out girls want flaws, My girlfriend is happy for me no matter what (my goal is 6 pack by 40) but she tells me things like "I don't want to be the fat girlfriend"
The real gains is the confidence we got along the way Fellas it's about self improvement, not the ladies or the aesthetic Believe in yourself you are good enough... you always were
Well, part of self improvement is the reward of women. But yes I agree the most stimulating feeling I have gotten from the gym is the confidence. Feels soo goood.
I think part of the reason you get a lot of the same answers when you ask groups of girls is because they don't want to disagree with the hierarchy within the group. Women are very competitive by nature when it comes to other women, always trying to impress eachother Especially in front of men. So if you ask them a generalized question about physical characteristic preferences, as soon as the first answer comes out (usually from the dominant female in the group) the rest will follow as to not risk looking dumb, or out of sync by the dominate hierarchy in the group. You should ask them individually, then I believe you'll geta more robust set of accurate answers according to each individual opinion, instead of a group just agreeing with the hierarchy in the group.
I think people underestimate how long it takes to get a physique like Joe. I heard a few times as they justified their preference. “They work out a little bit and it’s not too much” But from this channel, we know that Joe’s all about muscle growth and has been at it for years. Although the preferences are not what we all want to hear, we’re doing it for ourselves and not for everyone else. Do what makes you happy!
Yeah i wouldnt pay too much attention to what a girl says on camera. They will often give the safe answer. Also insecure women will shoot down when put on the spot, cos they know they're not in the gym themselves. But dont take my word for it. Go to a club and watch the big lads clean up.
I think that it goes both ways, I've met a lot of guys who bullied girls who were barely fat... but those guys don't later pretend that they're all about personality unlike most girls do.
@@4thequeen766 i strongly disagree. Ive been skinny. I know how i was being treated back then. @@Michauu you clearly wasn't as confident as you are now. Women can smell insecurity a mile away. It all goes down to science and looking for a spouse that will defend them and their offspring. When you were skinny you probably wasn't giving of much of the rite energy.
For those who just want to know the answer: Girls prefer a lean body over an overtly muscular dude. But again it differs from girls to girls because surprise surprise, they all aren't the same.
Frankly - I don't think physical appearance is that important. Get in shape, lose fat primarily, and take good care of your hygiene & teeth. Dress nicely. Face, height & personality are usually more important than +/- 20 lbs of muscle
Год назад+5
For reason many men believe that, if women like muscle, then bigger = better, but that's just not true and stupid. Very big and muscular bodies look completely unnatural and unnatractive. You just gotta be fit.
Everyone chases validation. It’s part of the human experience. Just make sure your validation comes from something meaningful (difference from a feeling of importance going to a soup kitchen and getting that feeling by gaining followers on Instagram) “If you tell me how you get you’re feeling of importance, I’ll tell you what you are”
@GoldenStarGamez agreed. You shouldn’t be giving people, especially strangers, that much power over you, but it’s partially inevitable. You want people you care about to feel highly of you, it’s only natural. The best advice is just to aim to become a person you’d respect and live accordingly rather than being at the mercy of every onlookers judgement
"he has no personality other than gym" that's one of the problems I encounter as a man (22yrs) who goes to the gym 5-6 times a week. The thing is that beside gym and my job i'm trying to read as much as possible, have a lot of friends which made me a better person and i always try to waste as little time as possible, is that "no personality"?It s kinda sad to see that guys that are ambitious enough to get that type of body are going to get labeled as "no personality" guys, i mean maybe there are guys who dont do much beside gym, but a lot of us are guys with great personality and determination.Kinda sucks how shallow the world is when we're talking about guys who have a nice body.
😅so either need a girl who is as ambitious as you, or one that likes beeing a housewive and you doing the action. In the end finding someone is not that easy and if it's not working out for one it's best not putting in too much. 22 is young just keep trying.
Your being too hard on yourself, don't spend time thinking about people's opinions, just keep focusing on yourself and find a women with the same mindset
People tend to avoid extreme choices. It’d be interesting to see if the preference changes if someone more jacked than Nate is put as option (or someone in the middle of Joe & Nate’s physique)
You can't trust womens words in videos like this. Also what PICTURE you might most attractive and what body you are seeing with your own eyeballs are different. You look way more freaky in a picture with lighting and angles then in real life. I have met a woman who did not care at all about muscles she said, but then was complimenting my muscles like wtf. They care and dont care at the same time. Ok lol. Then in videos on tinder you see the hunks with very impressive bodies (often on steroids) get massive attention.

I feel age demographics has a huge factor on this too but still interesting to see the results. it would be interesting to see what people aged 25 - 50 would answer, most of the girls in this video were either clearly teenagers or in their early 20's and peoples tastes do change as they get older.
I think it would go towards the bodybuilder body and the dad bod. Reasons being that the dad bod is familiar because its a dads body and the body builder one looks more mature and the athletic body and the skinny body look very young like pre 20

Same with me, but on the opposite site. I´m close to 2m (6ft6 I think) and I started working out to not look like noodle. Now I look more like a Fussili, but gone are the days of spaghetti
They keep deflecting it to personality, or trying to judge based on what type of personality they think is attached to the body type, which isn't the question. You should tell them, "We're asking which body type is most aesthetically pleasing to you, not which guy you'd most want to date. Don't factor for personality. Just assume that whichever one you choose, you can attach whatever personality you want onto it. Which one LOOKS the best to you?"
pls don't let girls be your main motivation to workout, you need to want it for yourself, not for anyone else as your body is the only thing u really own.
I think it's somewhat baked into our biology. Similar to how birds have pretty colors on 'em feathers, men want to look attractive, so do the females. I think the reason it feals good to workout, or to do other stuff, is so that you do more of it, which helps attract females. So somehow if you don't even feel like you're doing it for sex, you are still kinda doing it because of sex :D

You should consider the Error of central tendency. In surveys people always tend to choose an answer in the middle and not an extreme. I am pretty sure you had different results if you also used body types of even bigger bodybuilders.
This needs more upvotes because it's a potentially major flaw.
Good point and asking women of different ages.. you’d get different answers too
I agree it your comment matches up very well with what they were all saying too. One person would gravitate toward the centre and then all of the other girls would follow and meet almost like a group mutual decision.

Another factor to consider:
Girls are mostly in groups and one girl's choice can influence the others.
Bru I had noticed this and then saw your comment
I definitely agree with you
Basically the sheep mentality of following others and convincing yourself sometimes that it's right.
Showing the conformity that takes place.
there's literally a totally opposite example on the same video... one of the first group of girls chose 3 different body types each...

“They work out a little bit and it’s not too much”
But from this channel, we know that Joe’s all about muscle growth and has been at it for years.
Although the preferences are not what we all want to hear, we’re doing it for ourselves and not for everyone else.
Do what makes you happy!
To be fair Joe's like 6'4 with below average genetics which is why it took him years
Girls who say “that’s too muscly” usually act a lot different when they see “too muscly” in person. As long as you’re not totally muscle-bound
Yeah i wouldnt pay too much attention to what a girl says on camera.
They will often give the safe answer.
