Just happened upon this video after doing a search for the magic loop in crochet. I was able to successfully complete it on the first try. I've been crocheting for over 20 years and have never been able to do this magic loop before even after watching dozens of other videos. Thank you for the video. Great job explaining the process.

  • @kittynibblets

I'm a knitter venturing into crocheting, and your demo is the easiest to follow. You gave the first double crochet a nice slow motion and it's easy to see what you're doing. Bravo! Other vids I noticed comments 'just pause, etc.' Well, yeah...I know, right! But having viewed loads of knitting vids over the years, I have found the slow and explanatory ones the best. After all, I'm watching a video because I don't know how to do whatever it is, and what's the point if someone is speeding along vocally and visually? Really??? Anyway, thank you so very much!!! I finally nailed it!

Thank you so much for this simple explanation of the Magic Circle. I've been knitting and crocheting for more years than you are old, but I never used a pattern that recommended using a Magic Circle until now. I watched at least five other videos and just couldn't get the hang of this technique until I saw your video. It's so much easier wrapping the yarn around a finger than around your hand.

Thank - you!! As per other viewers, I have been viewing other videos prior to making
(attempting.. 🤔😋) my first shawl today . Yours made the most sense... and in the least amount of time. And I appreciate your use of a white background. I can't understand why crafters use a dark background... and then they use a dark yarn. WOW!! No sense! And.... You have lovely hands... 🍁💅

I did a lovely "honeycomb" blanket with magic circles in the middle of each hexagon. When it was first used though, most of the middles came undone!! The ends of the magic loops pulled out - I got to it quickly and managed to sew them up, but it was awful. I am quite careful at sewing in ends, but I will know next time to do those middles really really well if I haver used magic loops at the beginning. :((
