This was absolutely the best concert I have ever been to. The privilege of seeing him sing at the State Theater in Detroit in June 1993 was like a religious experience. After the concert, we waited outside in the back of the theater for Mr. Cohen and all of the band to come out; and it was worth every second. Not only was Mr. Cohen kind enough to autograph the concert program, but the gentle way he shook my hand, thanking me for coming, and the sincere way he looks into your eyes while he says it. Loved this and will never forget the magical experience. How I so wanted to get on that bus with them and take that journey with them the rest of the way.

I can not get this song off my mind. For weeks now, every moment of quiet - this song creeps in. ... I barely even noticed it first time I heard it. Weird how that happens.
An acquaintance I had back in the 90's turned me on to Leonard Cohen. I went through a bad divorce and listened to his music from this CD so I bought it. I played it over and over in the middle of the night when I was hiding and trying to run. It was too depressing for most of the people in my life, sort of macabre. Then in 2002, my 15 year old son, my Christmas eve baby was murdered. I dug it out and listened to it over and over and over. There is just something about his poetry, the music he puts it to that was really comforting. My youngest son and 2 of Zack's best friends all got "Zack Tat's". Lukas thought the art on this CD would have been a perfect tat for me. I lost that CD and have been looking for one at various stores.
Volim iskreno i poštujem borce u životu i za život kao što si Ti. Bog Ti od pomoći bio. Hvala Ti neizmerno na ultra vanzemaljskom mu zičkom glasu i što si nam pružio iskreno od srca svoju magiju .
I remember the first time i heard this song. We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert, listening Leonard Cohen, when the drugs began to take hold.
Always loved this song, one of their darker ones...He had such, beautiful, dark lyrics..Sharon Robinson matches that beauty in this song...My fav of all time...
If anyone has to, if you have to remember me, please remember me as someone who was deeply in love with the liberating, the soothing voices of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. Cohen feels more like a soothing shelter sometimes, though. But God, the chills this specific song gave me with its lyrics and Leonard's heavy, profoundly spiritual and bone-to the marrow-seductive voice! ❤
Fuck..so deep song, this is truth, most of us are passing our lives in the waiting for the miracle to come. While the life is coming around us, that's the song about - stop to wait the miracle to come every moment of your life but wake up and do the miracle by yourself.
« Natural born killers » leads me here . And now the song stays forever in my heart .

"Waiting For The Miracle"
Baby, I've been waiting,
I've been waiting night and day.
I didn't see the time,
I waited half my life away.
There were lots of invitations
and I know you sent me some,
but I was waiting
for the miracle, for the miracle to come.
I know you really loved me.
but, you see, my hands were tied.
I know it must have hurt you,
it must have hurt your pride
to have to stand beneath my window
with your bugle and your drum,
and me I'm up there waiting
for the miracle, for the miracle to come.
Ah I don't believe you'd like it,
You wouldn't like it here.
There ain't no entertainment
and the judgements are severe.
The Maestro says it's Mozart
but it sounds like bubble gum
when you're waiting
for the miracle, for the miracle to come.
Waiting for the miracle
There's nothing left to do.
I haven't been this happy
since the end of World War II.
Nothing left to do
when you know that you've been taken.
Nothing left to do
when you're begging for a crumb
Nothing left to do
when you've got to go on waiting
waiting for the miracle to come.
I dreamed about you, baby.
It was just the other night.
Most of you was naked
Ah but some of you was light.
The sands of time were falling
from your fingers and your thumb,
and you were waiting
for the miracle, for the miracle to come
Ah baby, let's get married,
we've been alone too long.
Let's be alone together.
Let's see if we're that strong.
Yeah let's do something crazy,
something absolutely wrong
while we're waiting
for the miracle, for the miracle to come.
Nothing left to do ...
When you've fallen on the highway
and you're lying in the rain,
and they ask you how you're doing
of course you'll say you can't complain --
If you're squeezed for information,
that's when you've got to play it dumb:
You just say you're out there waiting

Then in 2002, my 15 year old son, my Christmas eve baby was murdered. I dug it out and listened to it over and over and over. There is just something about his poetry, the music he puts it to that was really comforting. My youngest son and 2 of Zack's best friends all got "Zack Tat's". Lukas thought the art on this CD would have been a perfect tat for me. I lost that CD and have been looking for one at various stores.
Magnífico tema! ! Siempre estarás presente 😘❤
❤😢 I hope you have found some kind of equilibrium, such a hard loss.

Une musique agréable, une voie de rêve, un orchestre, assurant la mélodie, rien que du bonheur. Merci Monsieur Cohen, c'est une pure merveille.
One of his greatest songs. God I miss Montreal. God I miss Leonard.

Volim iskreno i poštujem borce u životu i za život kao što si Ti. Bog Ti od pomoći bio. Hvala Ti neizmerno na ultra vanzemaljskom mu
zičkom glasu i što si nam pružio iskreno od srca svoju magiju .
Had this song in my head all day long, among with an occasional "First We Take Manhattan". Another sad passing that made 2016 a sadder year. RIP.
RIP, poetry and soothing music all in one

My favorite as well 💖 Ever since I heard it on the Natural Born Killers soundtrack

Such a banging song. That desert feel to it 🏜️
My grandfather told me when I was a kid. This was his favorite song. I just recently got to hear it. I love it. So glad.
His music has helped me through some very dark times with my darkest thoughts , forever grateful ❤

And suddenly the miracle is here, your naked voice. Thank a lot, maestro!
Love this leonard
Still waiting!
Believe and they will happen. I'm grateful that I've missed death over 12+ times and had wonderful miracles in life. Grateful to God🙏🏻😊🙏🏻
I love you leonard forever
If anyone has to, if you have to remember me, please remember me as someone who was deeply in love with the liberating, the soothing voices of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. Cohen feels more like a soothing shelter sometimes, though. But God, the chills this specific song gave me with its lyrics and Leonard's heavy, profoundly spiritual and bone-to the marrow-seductive voice! ❤
Da ascoltare a occhi chiusi! Voce stupenda! 🎶🎶🎶
Thanks Lori for the lyrics, even
my native languaje is the Spanish. I am learning a lot with this magnific poet; Leonard Cohen.
Deeply missed
Waiting for a miracle to come.
Fuck..so deep song, this is truth, most of us are passing our lives in the waiting for the miracle to come. While the life is coming around us, that's the song about - stop to wait the miracle to come every moment of your life but wake up and do the miracle by yourself.
The best is yet to come...
the best songs I've ever heard
Greetings to you mr Leonard Cohen ٨_٨
See if we can live alone together
See if we're that strong
Best song! 💞
So love these songs.
I don't get the hype of Hallelujah when this exists. But to each their own.
Because of Jeff Buckley and Shrek, I also agree that this is the best song from Leonard's discography. It's excellent.
Waiting for the miracle to come)
I DIDN'T NEED TO WAIT - COZ BY GOD'S GRACE WE MET AND WERE IMMEDIATELY JOINED IN THE SPIRIT - THANK YOU DARLING - NOW AND FOREVER!
Beautiful
Le parole non bastano per esprimere la grandiosità di questa meravigliosa canzone
