Three things have been quite trendy in the watch-world lately - the comeback of two-tone watches, the use of bronze, & blue dials. So, it comes as no surprise that this watch has been one of the best releases of Baselworld in 2019. Oris decided to mix all the trends into one watch - a blue dial, two-tone diver. Instead of using gold as the secondary metal....they, instead, decided to use bronze. And shockingly, it works exceptionally well. To add icing on the cake, Oris has also been listening to their consumers by bringing down the size of the case. The Oris Sixty-Five used to have a case size of 42mm. While 42 isn't a bad size for many, collectors seem to prefer anywhere from 39 to 40mm. In my opinion 40 is the perfect size for most wrists.
Allow me to talk about the movement used in this watch & why I think it was a great choice. The diver sixty-five uses what Oris calls Caliber 733, which is based off of the Sellita SW200-1. The movement beats at 28'800 vph with a power reserve of approx 38 hours.
The watch displays the date at the 6 o’clock mark, which really looks subtle. I'm glad to see Oris removing the 6 o’clock indicie & replacing it with the date, rather than forcing the indicie in there, like many brands tend to do. It gives it a more subtle & less disruptive look to it.
Due to the SW-200, the case thickness is about 13.1mm. Although it's not slim by any stretch of the imagination, the watch sits very well on the wrist with some room for a Nato strap, should you choose to pair it with one.
The blue dial mixed with the bronze is stunning. Both are done very well without being a distraction to each another. The blue dial has a very beautiful inky navy-blue color that plays well with the light & looks pleasant in most settings. Although the watch might not fit formal attire, it is perfect for more casual settings.
The watch has a water resistance of 100 meters, which might be a negative for many watch collectors. But at the same time, I personally doubt most will be diving close to 100 meters anytime soon, but it's still important to mention.
The use of bronze in watches has been quite fascinating. Many brands have been using bronze, so it is not exclusive to Oris. However, bronze ages differently, which gives the wearer a unique patina. By having a unique patina, the watch essentially becomes very personal to the owner. My personal bronze dive watch will have a very different look then someone's personal diver, even if we have the same one. To me, that makes it really special.
Overall the watch is fantastic for those who love bronze mixed with a stunning blue dial. I would probably go with an all steel version as it fits my style more. For me, the highlight of the release was the 40mm size. I can't think of a more perfect size for a dive watch & the watch sits quite comfortably on the wrist.

I’m always fond of Oris albeit sellita movement, the design is so attractive. Great review
Thanks for watching brother!
Though aged bronze isn't my thing, it's a very reasonable for Oris to choose bronze and make a two-tone model. By the way, I'm also interested in Oris Artelier cal. 111.
I'll see what I can do about the cal.111 👍 Thanks for watching as always my friend!
Very cool video, not that in love with bronze, too much steam punk look for me, but love the dial. keep the good work :)
A stainless version with the blue dial would be incredible! Thanks for watching buddy. Glad you enjoyed!

Thanks brother!
이시계 추천드립니다!
Very good looking piece!
Thanks for watching buddy!
The hands on the Oris divers per se are very boring. The entire watch dial just feels muted and meh most of the time. The cases are great though - but will never get one as there are so many better options out there to be totally frank.
this is a bit selfish but will you ever make a comparison vid of the rolex op34 vs sarb035? you said they wore similar in your rolex op34 vid and im interested to see that.
I got you 👍 I have a lot I'm filming right now but I will get to that asap.
@@watchcollectingstrategy appreciate it man. keep doing you tho ✊
