I love the taper on the bracelet, for each his own

I bought the Divers 65 Bico in December and love it. Your points are absolutely valid about the mediocre bezel action, crappy lume (I'm used to Seiko lume), low depth rate and heavily tapering bracelet. Keeping in mind that the Divers 65 is ment as replica of their own dive watch classic at least lume, taper and depth rating are perfectly fine to me. Especially when I see, what I'm (and 99% of dive watch owners are) doing with the watch. I will not dive and read it in the depth of muddy waters. When you want a nice looking and unique watch with some history built from an independent maker then the Oris is great. Being independent means that they don't have access to ETA movements in an amount they are building watches. The Selita is by no means an inferior movement. It's the same unspectacular workhorse as the ETA 2824 to me.
I never thought that I will wear a bicolor watch in my life. The Bico changed my mind. It wears a little like a raw denim jeans aging with use individually according to the wearing habits of its owner. If you have a strong OCD and fear stains you should stay away of any bronze.

7.25 inch wrist here and this watch is a dream on wrist. It melts away, you'll forget you're wearing it, gotta get it with the bracelet. So comfortable eith the taper

Got my first divers 65 last week and it’s impressed me. It’s in a strap, so no bracelet issues, and it’s the one with big retro numbers, which I think is better looking. My bezel actually seems pretty good. It’s not a watch I’d pay full price for though. Good vid 👏🏼

Guys, the edit of that intro is dope! Well done!
    Thoughts on the watch:
    - I wouldn’t mind the taper
    - I wouldn’t mind the lume
    - I maybe would the bezel a bit, but thats not a dealbreaker

6:02 and there it is! the "faux rivets" rant!! 😂 Lovely piece, love the blue dial. I must admit, not been a fan of bronze in the past but i'm coming round to it, especially against that blue dial. Good work chaps 👍

I have the blue dial steel bezel 40mm Diver 65 on the tropic strap and I love it. I don’t have any other divers in my collection so I don’t anything to compare my bezel to but it functions and sounds great to me.

Good points raised and I have one of these. Problem solved with the 14mm taper. I have put a NATO strap on it - distressed vintage leather one

Great videos! I had an Oris Aquis titanium and had similar thoughts. The bezel action was terrible and the movement just okay. I sold it and bought a Monta Oceanking with better bezel and movement accuracy.

I personally like the Aquis better, but I can totally understand why people love the Diver 65. I really like the dial variant with the arabic numerals on it, and I'm low key thinking about picking one up. Great video guys 👍

Great videos. Love the good & bad cop theme in some videos.
I love my 65 no date, because it works so well with different straps. The vintage look & feel is on point with the 40mm watch. The bezel action could be better, the watch movement could be better and the index lume should be better for the money. Still the watch makes me love it everytime i am wearing it.

Great vid guys. Have a BB58 which also has a tapered bracelet (which I’m not overly keen on) and no one really seems to mention in reviews. Love Oris and am considering the Aquis as a future purchase.

i love my full bronze case that grows minty green on it that is minging for some but beatiful in my eyes. its on leather strap, with steel case back theres no skin reaction. oris has one of the best if not the best bronze alloy if we considering forming patina. plus its affordable and fully independent which is rare nowadays ;) love the brand. love my bronzie

Oris Divers 65 (40mm) wears beautifully on the wrist. Agree with the comments on the bezel action and the extreme taper on the bracelet. Don't mind the faux rivets on the bracelet though.

I bought the first 65 edition in 2015 and later bought the bracelet for it. The biggest problem I had with it was the sharp crown that dug into my wrist. Wearing on the NATO wasn’t so bad but anything else just got uncomfortable. I later sold it in 2018 but have had the Aquis since 2019 and much prefer the fit and feel.

The four o'clock date depends for me. These watches that have unique marking at the compass points look terrible when one of the points is replaced by the date. For those the four o'clock position is ideal.

Are these Oris swatches any better in overall quality and finish than the modern-day Orient divers? I mean, they cost seven times more but are they even really a step up if you look at it totally objectively other than resale value or whatever

I like the aesthetics but I've handled one and the taper is a bit much for me. Didn't test the bezel action but if they are all like that it's a bit annoying. Talking about holiday watches, I'm very tempted by the Doxa Sub 200, £1000 in some brilliant colours.

  • @colliedogjoy
    @colliedogjoy 4 года назад

Been looking at these for over a year now and think I prefer the original bronze bezel version but have yet to see one with hands and indices that match and that's the deal breaker for me - they all look like parts bin specials with the faux patina on the indices but new lume on the hands.

Couldn’t agree with Ant more-the mismatched lume, heavily tapered and low quality bracelet, and sloppy bezel really put me off the Divers Sixty Five line. I’ll only disagree in so much as I don’t think this watch is at all worth the money. Wouldn’t ever buy one of these. Would consider an Aquis at used prices below $1k USD. You guys ought to get your hands on a Monta to review. It’s Oris money but has impressed me more than any brand at the price point.

Hi Mates! How are you both? Not a bad little piece there, if you like bronze watches. Check out H2O watches, Kaventsmann, and of course Christopher Ward. H2O watches are an incredible timepiece (Wrist Art), they have variations on what you want as far as the case material (Bronze, Stainless Steel, Mokume Gane). Dial variations, hands, straps, movements, exhibition back or solid. Check all of these watchmakers (craftsman) and see for yourselves.
Thank You for the videos as always! Enjoy them immensely!
P.S.: Having a sextuplet shot of Dewars 12-year-old as I watched your Video Cheers Mate!

I also have in my collection three H2O watches, Mokume Gane with Black MOP, leather strap. Carbon watch with carbon strap fist release, and a Chronograph built to my specs with the Bronze case, Black Ceramic Bezel, Blue Panda dial that is incredible to look at in my eyes. I was not going to mention opinion. Damn it, I did! ;) Enjoy your Sunday my Friends!!!

Got to try on my first Oris 65 on Friday in an AD. Lovely to look at in the case but when I had it in the hand it felt a bit cheap and flimsy. Very disappointed. While they look great they are not really giving great bang for buck. Think your review highlighted the faults perfectly. They are not cheap so would expect better quality.
