As an Oklahoman, can attest: Fried Catfish is both a staple and delicacy.
Also, listening to a conversation between two polar opposite accents is quite the experience.
I live just south of Guthrie, so it was a shock to see him in Oklahoma!
I enjoyed watching this in BC with my Canadian husband who was gobsmacked to learn that Okies (some Okies; not this one) do this. As a vegetarian he couldn’t watch the processing of the fish. 🐱 🐠

From what I have read that on screen Gordon and on camera Gordon are two different people
I've watched alot of Gordon Ramsay videos and I came up with two reasons for why he is so verbal and aggressive in the kitchen:
First: When he was learning in France he was treated very harshly by the chefs that trained him
Second: Pure entertainment. People said he got way more aggressive in the US version compared to the UK version of Kitchen Nightmares for example because after all it's Television and it needs to be entertaining to bring in the views.

Why is the Southern accent so likeable? It makes everything sound so down to earth and polite and humble.
It really does. Probably because of how high in tone the southern drawl is. Its almost like "cooing" while you speak. A really good example is a character from Red Dead Redemption 2 named "Dutch," he can tell a lie with threatening words but it still sounds so likeable. Just an absolutely amazing accent.
