That's actually a very interesting idea I didn't hear before and that makes a lot of sense. I think there is something deeper at play here. This "yes, and" mechanism is not only a rule of impov, it's a common mechanism in any human communication, especially small talks, and it's, I think, based on what we call in French "le renvoi d'assenceur" ("sending back the lift") : You do something for someone so they'll do it for you. In small talks at work as in Rogan's podcast, it means "I accept as coherent with my worldview what you say without asking for proof, so when I say what I believe you'll accept it as coherent with your worldview without asking for proof". For each participant, it's a way to ensure that what they want to say will be heared, but the result is that they are then forced to integrate, at least in surface, what the others said in their "worldview", provided they want to keep a good relationship (and business) with them. I think that a probable explanation for why conspiraties have this tendancy to grow in all directions as they recruit new believers : the price to pay to recruit a member is to integrate their very own idea into the whole thing.
Lots of big time Rogan fans stop by your place. Really interesting, also lots of intellectual types, never thought that those 2 had a cross section? But here we are.

If someone is just wrong about something, are they still a grifter? Are we supposed to avoid asking deeper questions about the power structures because that makes us a conspiracy theorist? At what point does a real conspiracy get to be called out for what it is? What about the legal ones that currently control much of the censorship on these platforms? I don't know.... to me this seems like it needs a much more nuanced solution than just labeling people. Certainly, if you can actually expose corruption, that's one thing, but just having a different opinion about something "scientific" doesn't seem like a good enough reason to label someone in this way. It's obvious that you don't actually watch/ listen to Russell Brand and Joe Rogan.
@@bcn365 lol
Wow. You just proved him correct, about everything, in one single sentence. Astounding; that someone could have so little to say, after giving so little thought. Your response was as if an automated voice read from a script.
I do (well, did) and I don't see where is the lie. He covered both more or less 100%. Appart of some attempts for pushbacks on bits that are super not important, they accommodate and fit into a larger map of conspiracy and opinion buddies. Perhaps the only props that JR deserves is getting Ronda Patrick during covid who litherally laughed as his antivax bs. And then proceeded to invite one million antivax/medicine conspiracy gurus. Russell Brand is just...no props to him really, he is trully InfoWars level of idiot
Continually waving your hands around is distracting, Why do you do that?
Body language. We all communicate much more with our body language rather than our words.
It's called handwaving .... what Scott did this video in guise of "investigative journalism" a la hardhitting CNN and MSNBC.
Scott, I would encourage you to check into whether Tim Pool is actually doing positive things for the world. You might be surprised. ❤️
Tim Pool is the one who fit Scott's description the most. I've seen him go from a very reasonable centrist to a full on right wing conspiracy theorist.
I like the contemplation and I believe this is very relevant.
Be sure to include on some ways that things work well. You said it at the end of this video for like 60 seconds of the 10 minutes.
Your voice is needed as a balance and yet you two are a content creator. I love creating content for myself first, but it’s rewarding when we have people it resonates with… @lifecoachmalachi
