So here is something I’ve observed. No matter how great a spiritual leader or teacher one is it is very rare for the students of these people to reach the levels of understanding or spiritual enlightenment that the masters do. I don’t think it’s because they are bad teachers or false in anyway but this path is so personal and different for everyone that following someone else’s blueprint almost never works.

Gurdjieff has given us many psychological tools to wake up from an unconscious slumber. I have studied Gurdjieff’s works for over 50 years. I now teach his ideas regarding the psychological aspects of human nature which are my focus and are truly profound. The dancing, the music, the enneagram, are complex and irrelevant to the work that I do. I include Spinoza, a 17th century philosopher, as a part of my work. Spinoza gives us keys of achieving the 4th Way.

Nobody knows how to self remember because the path is subjective but there is better system to explore with the enneagram in awakening like the tree of life in Kabbalah it is applied in all occult group and its part of the golden down that root back to hermetic philosophy till freemasonry today .. its the most important subject to study if you seek to awake but let me tell you one thing that for sure … all mystic seek to uniting the opposite and go beyond their mental duality about life , these conditioning or dualities are not all our own making some of them comes from other people negative gaze towards us forming negative beliefs… the path between the opposite is called the golden mean in philosophy some of the famous duality is power and love in the Kabbalah because they’re opposite when people operate in one without the other the conclusion is life long of exploitations or life long victimhood
The enneagram also should be examined like this when doing inner work you should do the golden mean

I recently got affiliated with a group and asked specifically about this, and got the answer that Gurdjieff never made any mentions for Enneagram personality interpretation. You can assume from what is mentioned about it in "In search of the miraculous" by Ouspenky that it could be used for personality types as well but that's not the case. Since the personality is a system/interpretation created after his death by people not working with the groups of work he left behind, feels like a misunderstanding to consider it a part of his work.

I wasn't spiritual before, but deep depression led to an accidental spiritual awakening that completely shifted my reality, i encountered what Gurdjieff calls the "real world." It profoundly changed me, yet the challenge lies in the fact that this experience can't be taught. My concern with gurus is that their methods, rooted in personal experiences, might not resonate with everyone; it's crucial for individuals to discover their own paths.

Turīya (तुरीय) refers to the “fourth state of consciousness”, according to Vāgīśvarakīrti’s Tattvaratnāvaloka verse 17The psychological state of deep dreamless sleep (turīya) resembles to a degree the absolute quiescence of the Universe after dissolution (pralaya) when all existences return to the state of the Great Night (Mahārātri).
In this state of perfect integration nothing remains but the transcendent power of Time, Mahā-Kālī.
Now, according to Swami Sivananda, _turiya_ is the *fourth state of consciousness* in which the individual rests in Satchidanandam (“ever-existing, ever-conscious, ever-new bliss”). The individual has attained nirvikalpa samadhi or final liberation from ego consciousness and is united with infinite spirit.

"Gurdjieff, The Teaching That Changed the World." Funny the world seems to be beating to its own drum and not to Gurdjieff's. All the claims of how the great sages changed the world and yet the world is still colossally messed up. Followers of any prophet think the world is studying their master. The world has no idea of most masters. Gurdjieff died a drunk and also thoroughly addicted to nicotine. He knew how to play the game of if you stick with me long enough I and only I, will reveal incredible spiritual truths which will change your life for the better, like it did for me, you can die addicted to cigarettes and alcohol and die of alcoholism, too. How could he be so enlightened and need those crutches. Everyone has a guru within and convince themselves that they can only do it with the help of a master.

He could also write a book on throwing beer in women's faces on trains and the enlightenment gained by such actions. Do you really actually think you need a guru to go within?@@NitroNilz

I'm beginning to think he was influenced by Christian Theosophy, especially the crystallization of the Higher-Being-Bodies, including Franz Xaver von Baader, amongst many others. The fourth way, though, is probably from Antoine Fabre d'Olivet & Papus, the latter who talked about the three factories of the human machine, being the intellectual, emotional & instinctive, sounds familiar, with maybe a pinch of Turiya. The enneagram comes from S. Karpp's French book on the Zohar & the tetragram from "Isis Unveiled", Gurdjieff didn't teach anything about enneagram types. The four states of consciousness, including self-remembering comes from Plato's cave.
