Kingfisher 30 is certainly a good cheap boat. Though not great t look at, really. Solid as a rock and makes you feel safe in bad weather. On the other hand, they don't sail very well. From my experience, you tend to end up with less wind and easier conditions than most people imagine. Gales are rare (unless you choose the wrong season). Go with whatever suits your budget and feels right. Our mistake was thinking a fixer upper was cheaper than an almost fully prepared boat. It isn't.
Hard to decide who is more beautiful your boat or your lady. You are a lucky man.
Hey Dave, how are you? Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. A hug from São Francisco do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
