Sailing Brazil: Ilha Grande

A month in Ilha Grande, the island in front of Paraty and W of Rio de Janeiro. Besides being a UNESCO’s World Heritage site it is a cruisers paradise with plenty of anchorages. Sailing is a little like Summer in the Med: usually there is very little wind. There are hardly any roads on the island so all the villages are on the waterfront and accessed either by walking trail or boat. It's almost the size of Elba (our Tuscan island) but with only 5000 inhabitants.
