  • We speak to Dave Scott about Lionel Sanders racing Sam Long at St George 70.3 in May 2021. He talks about Lionel's form, specifically Sanders' right leg, lack of hip extension, and his glute strength.
Dave also tells us about how while Sam Long is great now, previously "Sam was so shockingly bad," but that he'll do great in 70.3s and full distance tris.
Dave also tells us about other athletes to look out for.
This interview with six-time Ironman champion Dave Scott is part of a series done by IronmanHacks.

@sanders has outran Ali and Javi in almost every race. Surprised not see Dave say that should double back on his Stats. But the swim on the other hand is terrible. Just needs to keep improving.

The way he is attacking the swim, the rest of the field won't have a chance when he gets it down.

The Man developed himself alone in Davis California where it's ALWAYS windy. He trained to suffer better than Mark. Sanders has a Rocky Balboa likeability and I wish him great success. So nice to hear from Dave, thank you for sharing.

Good content, just a bit of advice , stabilise your camera, look into the camera as you're addressing your audience. Keep your questions short as it maintains the viewers focus.

When Dave Scott speaks, I listen up...the dude is one of the top 5 physically and mentally tough tri men of all time. What I wouldn’t give to take one of these super bikes back to the 80s and see Dave Scott post times equivalent to the best today.
Lionel Sanders....the dude runs faster with the limp than without!
Sam Long: man, what a performer both on and off the course. Mad props to the Big Unit.

I'm sure Dave's time then - on today's equipment - would be incredible. Nice thought.

@@RunForPeace-hk1cu I don't disagree - I think Dave's point is that even some of the goofiest looking athletes can still fly, including him. But if they fixed their form would the be even faster? Or, as you're suggesting, maybe look at the foundations and the results will improve...
