Hello Mr Hyce, CDO of ES&DT You currently have an outstanding debt of 9,304,649.60 USD. However, I cannot take any railroad credits. As such you need to pay in USD, gold, silver, or other precious metals. For your swear jar, I have counted 12 swears this video. You and the rest of this railroad need to put in an additional 36 USD or the equivalent amount in other currencies. Any IOUs put it will have some sort of collateral also written on alongside the note. For example: IOU ### USD Collateral: my car The total amount of money in the swear jar is the equivalent of 0 USD. There should be a total of 1,284 USD. As a reminder, the swear jar money will collect interest, and it will be used to buy coal for Montezuma once she is completed. The swear jar will stay in my possession as to ensure that no one tries to steal from it or short change it. Railroader Debt Collector, John Doe
That 44-Tonner is... very violently green. But I like it. Maybe call it the Flying Lime? Track mods sounds fun too. I had to go looking at Nexus Mods after watching this the first time and there's some good stuff there. Want a wye around the back of Jackson Paper at Sylva? Maybe an eight-track hump yard at Sylva interchange? Extra crossovers for Bryson or Jackson Paper to make switching easier? They'd be my top picks. I'm a little ambivalent about some of the changes made to Robinson Gap but if you want a straight-up coal train and nothing else, they'd be worth investigating too. And I'll have to look at getting into this (and Discord!) when I upgrade my laptop next year. It'd be fun to run on the ES&DT, even if only once because time zones and life and stuff.
1:03:00 reminded me of this> the rimutaka incline in New Zealand (6.67%), the H class Fell engines would pull (from pictures), like 3 or 4 cars each, and they could up to 5 engines per train spaced out by tonnage, they ran from 1878 till 1955 when the hill was bypassed by a tunnel
The NZR H class 0-4-2T Fell tank engines were rated for 65 tons apiece. Typically they would use four engines on most trains - referred to as 'four up' by staff - but there were occasional instances of 'five up' or even very rarely 'six up'. I'm not sure whether those rarer instances were goods or passenger work, as one source I've got access to suggests that the standard max goods tonnage uphill was 260 tons, which four engines could manage. What makes that less fun is that unlike Red Marble, the Fells were plodding up a 3km stretch of 1 in 14 to 1 in 16 at a top speed uphill of 4 to 6 miles per hour, and descending at a maximum speed of 10 miles per hour. Throw in three tunnels, with the longest being right at the top of the hill, and that's a recipe for pain. Which is why they wanted a tunnel - which couldn't be built in 1877 when the line opened, for obvious reasons, but didn't get built until after World War II. At 8.8 kilometers long, it shortened the Wairarapa Line by 14.2 kilometers, and ensured that the line would be fully dieselized before any other line in New Zealand (and no, the Murupara Branch doesn't count as that was diesel-operated from the get-go).
45:09 Similarly, as Jersey could probably tell you, there is a town in New Jersey called High Bridge. I’ll give you three guesses as to what the CNJ built there.
For someone who runs trains in real life watching the way you drive these trains(i understand it's a game) frustrates me with the derailments and smashing into frieght, love the engines and great team work
Hyce , just as a tip, on my RR save I have like 3 F-71s all MU'd together as helpers and thats pretty much enough or more then enough to get up the grade, so if you need more helpers for THE HILL, prepare your ingame wallet lol
I handled the end game by having a double headed Diesel starting on either side of the map, dropping off the cars at the mayor sides (Andrews, Nantahala, Alarka Jct., Bryson, East Whittier Dillsboro and Sylva).. At the end of the day they drive back to their starting position, picking up all the empties. I used a spare C-55 as helper for the Red Marble Grade, in addition to splitting up the train and making to runs of the grade. Passenger service was done with two Berkshires, each pulling nine coaches and running non stop - they made over 20k a day PS: A C-46 works great for the pulpwood from Conelly branch to Sylva. No need to refuel during the operation
On my railroad, I run an H-6 from end to end each day on the freight, and I have FOUR Santa Fe’s at Nantahala to help the freight up, so an H-6 plus 4 Santa Fe’s to crawl its way up the grade. I also have another Santa Fe to help my passenger train up the grade because lots of steel cars
You should get an F7 A/B unit for one of the pax trains and let Jersey have his berk for the express lol (or stick an F7A on the express). And since the F7A/B is stupid amount of power you COULD get the nicer pax cars and not worry about the extra weight Also loved the wreck wasn't Jersey cause as soon as the Kenosha at the start kicked on I 100% assumed it was
AAAAHHHH WHAT IS THAT OIL BURNING GRUMBLING BEAST, oh it is just a cute little diesel. - - I make many cockatoo noises happen, that I’m sure my neighbors enjoyed when I saw angry ragtimers video on the 44 tonner.
The H6 is broken as far as I know. You'll have to spawn it in with sandbox and switch back to company mode. Other wise, when you go to hook up the front engine, it'll yeet it down the line. Also, it yeet the front engine on switches. I don't know if it's been updated or not.
I've noticed the same effects of yeeting all forward of the cab section, but also an issue coupling to anything behind it, as if it hits an invisible, derailed car.
I have several track mods and I have had no issues with them and they are great. I have a few of just the crossover additions the Whittier Yard expansion and I know its maybe not accurate but the West Bryson Interchange as my only active interchange. Having Bryson as the place everything originates from just works from an operational standpoint.
Here's a clever name for the 44 tonner. The "Mystery Switcherus" considering it's like green and the Mystery citrus memes from the 3/4 show it seems kind of fitting. Great video Hyce and keep up the fantastic videos!
Yes!! a 24 hour live stream would be awesome! love the 44-Ton and it's neon green scheme! (i would've given it "mint green" myself) fun watching the struggle through red marble!
4-4-0 and open top passenger cars mods. It's a pretty set up. Also the wait time starts after being dropped off. Like the passengers at Alarka Jct are probably the only ones with a wait time at this time
Before waypoint mode managing the whole thing was really quite a full-time task. Now it's easy. I can even manage the CTC board at the same time. Had to keep it in ABS before.
There's someone developing the Gorre and Daphetid 34 the 4-10-0. It's going to be classed as the D-85 and will reportedly do 1000 tons solo up red marble
Please tell me you intend to name your LIME green 44-ton the "James Patterson" or similar. Perhaps #4 could be reassigned to the Sylva switcher? And then run #3 and #2 into the dirt?
Totally worth it. I have been doing the vanilla single player thing, and it has been a total blast. Although, the CP D10 is what makes me want to try my hand at installing mods!
@@SeanBodine Indeed! I am hoping the devs add some of these to the vanilla game. I'm running it on a potato, so I'm worried adding these as mods might make my laptop sad...

Or C) they don’t realize what wet rails do to a tonnage train on a grade

What an excellent start with a lime green shunter, but having the full map now gives us maximum opportunities for chaos
