      Why do you need to install the Micro Hydro in a river streams ?
      Since the Micro Hydro generates electricity why not let it power a water pump so the pump can create clean water streams from higher place the cycles keep on running indefinitely ?

      it speeds up again after that, its the charge controler working out the ideal voltage. at about 70v it sounds lovely. but it takes the controler a little while to work it all out. thats why i need a better controler.

    • @dalmatianlife
      @dalmatianlife 6 лет назад

      What is the controller you used?
      The ones I have used have never been anything greater than 20A at 12v. I started with a few PWM controllers which seemed to boil my batteries dry quite quickly over time I thought despite it not charging until there was enough light to reach the 13.8v needed to charge. Maybe a had dud ones.
      I eventually got an MPPT controller. It had a digital interface where I could set the dis/charge cutoffs, as well as a switched load output that could have its voltage limits adjusted, as well as the option to have it timed. Great for low light charging too as it has a built in boost converter to utilise all low voltages from the panels from early light. (boat project in my case). Well worth looking into if you haven't already.

    Hi Kris, I only discovered your YT channel since Christmas and I've watch all of them over the last month. So impressed with your determination and ingenuity, even when you've been feeling tired and low. You definitely aren't a quitter! You really have achieved so much. Definitely give yourself a pat on the back. I know you'll have tweaks with the Hydro system but I imagine you've already got the next project brewing. Keep up the good/hard work. Looking forward to the next instalment.

    Chris, 8:20 you should close the stand pipe end if you want more preasure. You could go to more than 60 psi if you close the stand pipe. Opening the standpipe will reduce the air preasure causing the preasure reduce. And the stand pipe shoul not higher than your intake pipe
