- He means the title in a lighthearted facetious way AND, we all know Craig takes it as a compliment. This man has the kindest heart and is so freakin humble, it's amazing, most impressive is how genuine his humbleness is. He offers himself up for entertainment, he does the Michael Caine accent, he makes the dog noise, the horse noise, he laughs like a kid (in the best sense). I love this guy! Enjoy!

Yes, I've been inactive, no more! The outro is good. Enjoy!
The outro was indeed good!
What did it have to do with Anthony Hopkins?
About time! Now come out and fight while I'm still in a temper!
@@tmseh still in a temper? Prob a youngin in spider twin
@@davidpreston9318 Aye, still at a full boil now that you mention it.
That day I saw Anthony Hopkins barking at a fake horse on national television, I knew this show would have a special place in my heart.
How much better is this than James Corden?
They're incomparable. Corden is just shouty and unfunny.
James who?
Craig is light years ahead of that idiot
YES
A bazillion times
Anthony Hopkins - a man who gives zero f*cks about fame. A bloody genius
"Do you golf?"
"No, do you?"
"No."
"Stupid a facking game."
Craig: Were you a scrapper when you were drinking?
Anthony: No, I was just morbid and depressed.
Audience: Laughter, laughter laughter!
Anthony: They laugh at anything won't they.
That’s called programming the sheeple
@@patrislemair1754 you are so smart
I imagine they've gone for some bevvys before hand, and it's probably just the vibe when you're there. Either that or Geoff is berating them to laugh :D
Are you pointing out a comment that you think people didn't hear or missed or have you some things to say about it ? I'm thinking some thing else but it's rude to be rude so I won't bother saying it ,like you should have done
@@paulgilraine3127 ...Are your parents siblings or at least related?
God willing, I’ll be sober 8 years next March. In the beginning, I pulled up Anthony Hopkins talking at AA meetings, to supplement my regular AA meetings. I also loved to listen to Craig Ferguson talk about his sobriety, the brutal honesty, the ownership, and the accountability. It has hopefully helped me shape my journey to stay sober. Just want to thank these two gents for their honesty concerning their alcoholism. They’ve no doubt helped more men and women than they could ever imagine. God bless them both.
Wishing you success!! Congratulations on 8 years!
Where did you find them talking about these things? I'd love to listen as well!
@@MavericksGoosed several of Anthony Hopkins’ talks at AA meetings are on you tube, if you type “Anthony Hopkins AA” in the search bar you should be able to pull up a selection of his talks. I don’t know how to post the links, my apologies. Also, if you type “Craig Ferguson Britney Spears”, you’ll be able to find Craig’s monologue where he begins to talk about Britney Spears, but delves into his own experience with getting sober. Hope it helps, God bless.
@Em P Your entire comment resonates with me right down to my being sober also 8 years and also having a March anniversary. If you say March 13th I can slightly freak out. I’m so grateful that this gift has come to both of us. Between you and me… Keep coming back.😊❤✊
One of my favorite Anthony Hopkins lines was; Today is the tomorrow you were so worried about yesterday.
May sound silly, but to an alcoholic it makes perfect sense
Anthony Hopkins about Craig show: This is the stupidest show ever
Ricky Gervais: This might be the best chat show ever
Robin Williams: Chlamydiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! and laughs forever
All the female celebs: This is the horniest show ever, god makes all of us hot
Big salute to you Mr Ferguson, this was a strangely fantastic show. A route rarely taken. Wow
Craig's show was truly unlike any other. Late-night hasn't been the same without him.
Dork
what does that even mean
@@frenne_dilley Why? You speak as if you think they are all the same.
@@frenne_dilley Shirley, you can't be serious...
He may not take the social aspect of Hollywood seriously but he takes the craft seriously....undoubtedly one of the top 5 living actor of our time
I really like that he's not into the Hollywood schmoozing. He's a phenomenal actor.
and now nominated for another Best Actor Oscar. The guy is phenomenal!
Because he has balance
He probably doesn't give a fig what actors thing about politics or any other subject, "balance"
Wrong
Anthony and Clint Eastwood are gold
I have to stop bingeing on these or I'll run out before I realize it.
it's the rabbit hole of quality, very rare.
Dude, just had the same thought.
Binging*
@@robknight9406, well I did not know that. Thank you.
I ran out of every episode. So now, I am on repeats. 😐
Craig always had the most dynamic and comfortable conversations. Made it feel like just two friends catching up.
So true. The conversations are so natural and unforced.
One of very very few who can keep up with Richard Ayoade in an interview 👌
Absolutely. Always.
Absolutely! Well put🎉
Watch the episode with Zach Galifaniakis and come back
Craig is both the most, ridiculous and earnest in his interviews, he was the only one who could’ve saved late night t.v, he is a master
Conan is a Legend.
while I agree with you, he was not the only one. Conan was a another master. Sadly one was pushed to the cable because he was treated like absolute shit on a nacional tv channel and the other got the show canceled because the channel in itself if an absolute shite and he had no support whatsoever.
Craig's Late Show was awesome, but he decided to quit on his own. It didn't get cancelled, it was his personal choice.
You’re kidding right? The guy is a nimrod
conan and craig had the sauce lopez was ok and couldve been able to bring something different arsenio came and went 2 times all the other late nights that were better are now old men who are either retired or dead
2 men with long term sobriety-what a great advert .Funny, smart, self deprecating-a joy to watch.
Craig: Do you go to therapy?
Anthony: No, but I will after this.
*Look at EVERYTHING we got from this interview... the details, the stories, experiences. Any other talk show host would probably have some stupid impression or giggle endlessly like an idiot. I miss our main man, Craig!!*
more more more more more more more more more more more more
And, thankfully, no stupid games to play or audience hyping, screaming.

Right. I miss him too.
When he is aked about Wales.
"We were the Irish who couldn't swim.
Very funny. I loved that.
God I miss Craig.. the country needs more of him right about now
He'd be cancelled by twitter mobs lol
He would upset all of California
He's got a podcast on Sirius Xm now
Rip gone too soon 😞
I really Miss Craig Ferguson's Show.. Nothing better than to end the day with laughter...
"I don't hang out with actors"
Step one one for keeping yourself real.
How so? There are really decent people who are actors.
There may be, yes.
Around Hollywood?
Do you know some personally?
Have you made experience in this industry?
I say pick carefully, by whom you want to be influenced - especially as an actor.
Not all performers are delusional and hypocrites.. Generalizations are quite often the root for discriminations.
How?
Actually he is kind an actor..
I'm watching this in 2021. Craig is an excellent talk show host. It's all about making the guests at ease and having a meandering chat like a pair of mates. There is no nastiness or making fun of the guests.
"Do you go to therapy?"
"No. I will after this though."
Craig: Did you see "Man Who Would Be King"?
Anthony: I was in it.
I was very fortunate to see Sir Anthony Hopkins in the production of "M. BUTTERFLY" at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London. 1989. As you can imagine Hopkins performance was mesmerising!
I love Anthony Hopkins, a great actor, and humble man.
Now, this man has, besides being a phenominal actor, actually composed classical music and it was played before him by a symphonic orchestra. Quite extraordinary, to say it like Hopkins.
I was fortunate enough to see Andre Rieu and his orchestra play Anthony Hopkins’ piece. Most magnificent!
apparently he can also paint
And he also has a great sense of humor!! Didn’t know that. Such a great human being.
@@anthonylodge7516 Had he lived in Medieval times, he'd be on the same level as Leonardo da Vinci. Exceptionally intelligent.
Craig Ferguson was the most BRILLIANT talk show host of all time.... what a creative genius.
I agree. And underrated at that.
I think he was just the most authentic and silly. I am from Glasgow too so I am very biased but he just has a naturalness about him and the show is the antithesis of your typical slick overwrought American production with ten writers coming up with one liners and puns. That is something very refreshing. Pity he doesn't drink because he is one guy I would love to have a drink with ( I don't drink but once a year myself, when I go home to the UK ).
Hopkins is an amazing actor, very funny and humble. One of my favs.
3.1.2021 MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ACTOR Sir Anthony Hopkins. I had NO CLUE he was THIS HILARIOUS. I can see how deeply SHY he is too. Can you? A brilliant man, and brilliant Actor. My God how I'd LOVE to work WITH HIM!!! And boy would I ever LOVE to sit and just talk with him. But I don't SEE that as likely, simply because he examples the traits of someone who is VERY PRIVATE about his life and times. I sure don't blame him, I'm this way also. I just TALK A LOT... WAY TOO MUCH... like they flash the HAND SIGN to me "TMI" can't help it either. Sighs! LOVE to COMMUNICATE when the communication IS REAL and TRUE. SO GLAD I was here to see this interview today. I'm at the 6:21 marker, and have been here with tears in my eyes laughing along with the CROWD who is SO VERY FOND of him too. Me too peeople... me too,. :--)) Blessings always, Stay Safe, WISE and thus WELL out there!! Nicholas In Seattle Adieu...
I wanna see Craig with Graham norton.
Me too
Doing what
@@somanoma6465 anything, If they are having fun, they're good
like how...?
graham norton makes me barf.
Anthony Hopkins, It has been more ore less 40 odd years ago since I spend like 4 weeks in Wales as an exchange student (Lord and behold) I was 15 at the time being. I can still until this day, count to 10 in welsh! I'm so proud of that, Thank you for all the fantastic films you've been acting in.
Why does 2007 look like 1997.
It was most likely recorded on VHS tape.
Time is a flat circle.
@@hersheybarber1424 It's a 3D spiral. (Progression happens, but far slower than most people think, and ideas are recycled many many times, although usually rebranded as new.)
The biggest mystery though, is why all american talk shows gives the guests that heavy clumsy mug of water (instead of a normal elegant glass of water). It looks like they were out on a camping trip or something.
Herr Bönk or just be graham norton and give them and actual drink
When I look back at Craig's shows like this and then see what we have now. Man. "How far we done fall."
I STRONGLY agree! Kimmel is a knucklehead. Fallon is Peter Pan all grown up. Colbert, as always, is a GOP satirist who owes all of his success to Drumpft. And the brilliant Conan, who has been neutered by the late night entertainment machine, is now floundering on TBS.
@@lucist I was talking about James Cordon specifically.
VulakAerr - You weren't clear at all about that! I specifically left Corden out, and left Seth out too! Can you guess why?
Anthony Hopkins is one of the BEST actors of all time.
He's on a shortlist, that's for sure.
One of the best interviews ever, I really Miss Craig. He was the best!.
Craig, is such a smooth talker, can't compliment him enough. He can make anybody feel comfortable! And so charismatic, damn!
I disagree--he is a poor interviewer and often too willing to sacrifice the interview for a laugh
Since the goal of Craig Ferguson's show was laughs that's a weird complaint.
Amartya Choudhury iii
Surely the goal of the show was to interview guests....?
Of Craig Ferguson? No, it was mostly to get laughs. Guests were just the medium. :)
Craig: Don't be a stranger now, come by often, will you?
Anthony Hopkins: Comes by 6 years later...
He probably had to.. it was probably involuntary.. you know how it is.. it’s just work for them - it’s not fun..
Man, that was far more delightful than I thought it would be. Thanks for uploading these edits.
Honestly, who does not love Anthony Hopkins?
he's brilliant in every area.
Clarice
I kid
@@jeffa4110 Awww you beat me to it!
I love Anthony Hopkins. I missed this laughs.
I absolutely love hearing these two talk. Anthony has such a calming, almost ASMR-like voice and Craig has his wonderful Scottish brogue. I could listen to them both, together or separate, all day.
Put it on loop then.
I don't know why I would expect anything different from an actor of Hopkins' calibre, but that is a Platinum level Michael Caine.
I am so glad you put all these together!!
Anthony Hopkins is so funny! "Why is that horse looking at me?"
LMFAO.
Thank you so much. This was hilarious. I hadn't seen this side of Anthony Hopkins before and the closer with Jay is perfection.
Sir Hopkins is one of my 5 most favorite actors... every role he has done with such precise accuracy! I loved him in Shadowlands the most. Ahhhh kiss toss to Sir Hopkins!
Shadowlands was great!
The pain then for the happiness now, that's the deal.
Craig is the host I'd most like to hang out with.
Craig or Conan, but agreed!
He's the handsomest
I love Hopkins. So down to earth and real.
I didnt appreciate Craig Ferguson when he was on TV. What an intelligent funny charming man. A real talk show. No gimmicks. Jokes and conversations.
Do you know what a gimmick means?
Very cool 🎉thank you
I suspect I would probably like Sir Anthony more than any other actor in Hollywood today. There’s no bullshit about the man.
I adore Anthony Hopkins, the man is CLASS. Loved this, thanks for posting.
Anthony looks young! Such an amazing man. Great interview! Love Craig.
Anthony is pretty damn funny, I like him even more now, after seeing this give/take with Craig.
What a brilliant mind.
The best actor to walk this earth sir Anthony Hopkins
"If I was drinking, you'd know. There'd be no debate, just watch Mexican courts TV and there I'd be..."
"Do you play golf?"
"No, no I don't; do you?"
"No, no..."
"No, I'm not interested..."
"What a boring game..."
Totally destroy the sport and make it funny as hell.
I like how he doesn't regard acting as real work as is not afraid to say it. So refreshing and great to hear this stuff from a legend like him. A little stab towards everyone else going on bout how much work they do for their tens of million dollar salaries.
"Come outside and FIGHT, while I'm in a tempah" LMAO
I never get tired of watching these things! Best show ever. Thanks Jayleno Fly.
Craig must be my favorite talk show host from across the pond. I mean, I laughed genuinely to most of it. And Hopkins is a legend. Period.
I love how this show turns surreal out of the blue.
Craig and the horse dancing is way more enjoyable than Ellen could ever be
Geoff Peterson voice: How DARE YOU
Because Ellen is pretentious.

Anthony is so cool and funny!!! De Niro is a great actor too... but he is so different... The humor is something precious!!!
Wow what a great interview. Sir Hopkins just became my favorite actor
Anthony is an amazing actor hard to find actors at that caliber today.
Funny too
This made me love Anthony Hopkins all the more!
i cant believe craig made anthony talk like that. truly one of the greats, i still cant understand why he didnt get the spot.
He didn’t want it. He got tired of the job.
One of the Greatest to ever do it
You really roll out the red carpet with the helpful text & imagery.
Anthony Hopkins is so amusing to watch and listen to! Craig always bring out the weirdness in his guests.. it's great!
Sir Anthony in Westworld. Fucking fantastic
Craig is fantastic with these huge guests and they enjoy the show. By far the best chat show I have ever seen.
Not really having known about him aside from the movies, I was quite surprised by how down-to-earth and funny Hopkins is. He really seemed to enjoy his visits.
The man is a legend!! Period!! Sir Anthony Hopkins..Well Done TJF
Mr. Hopkins is brilliant! Love ❤️ him.
anthony hopkins may be one of the great actors but he is also extremely funny
I miss Craig! There was NOBODY even close to as good as he was!
Hopkins is pretty dam funny. Didn't think I could like him even more.
He is such a gentleman with such a carisma!
I just love their banter and their accents.
i live in cheshire and climb snowdon all the time. Thankyou for donating to the trust forget the films thousands of people enjoy climbing there because of you, cheers matey
Funny great interview! I didn’t realize Anthony Hopkins can be really funny! He’s really down to earth! ❤❤ his acting!
Anthony Hopkins, do not know him personally, but he seems to be a very classy gentleman, and a decent guy.
When Tony was starting out , he was in a marvelous TV series of War and Peace, I was reading the book at the time so I could follow all the characters which could be a little daunting .
I fell in love with Natasha and named my cat after her. However Sir Anthony, was a superb
Russian Aristocrat that was slightly dumb.
Cant remember the name of his character, its been 50 years but he was great
He's a gent. He still writes letters to other actors whose performances he appreciates, and has no qualms about doing 'silly' movies if they look like they'd be fun to do.
And yes, as Jim, says he's one of the greatest living actors on stage or screen. His performance in Westworld is something else.
Decent guy? Lol
He carries himself well
Omg, i forgot how great Sir Hopkin's. Akward pause is. Masterful!!!
How lovely is Anthony Hopkins - what a guy.
I love sir Hopkins so so so much i can't tell, he is a legend to me.
Cause Craig will do anything for a joke. That’s why we love him. That, and he’s pretty darn funny. More comedian than talk show host. Best of both✌🏻
Holy shit Anthony Hopkins is brilliant. In this always-unexpected, undefinable way
Thank you for the outro, I was waiting for it 🙂
That obnoxious man was promoted far beyond his capabilities, to be saved by two gentlemen.
He possesses no situational awareness, alienating the audience by his first words.
He needs to crawl back under some dank fetid log.
this are some of the best interviews i've ever seen
Hopkins, l'un de mes acteurs préférés.
Craig: "Now remember, I am unlicensed. I am in no way a therapist....MUCH LIKE DR. PHIL!" ....and what's happening with Dr. Phil now? Craig called it years ago!
Hahaha That outro was tremendous! Comics ad-libbing and having a good time as they should.
During the outro, that foolish obnoxious jerk wasted the time of two of the most loved people.
Sick people like that should be ashamed.
A quick trip through the gallows would stop them loitering at schools.
This is great--they're like a comedy duo!!
As for being a fellow scot I have to say that I admire craigs charm, wit and charasma and tony hopkings is just a phenomenal actor he is up there with Brando, Hoffman, Nicholson, Oldman and Day Lewis.
You did mean to say that Brando, etc . were up there with Anthony Hopkins, didn't you? Not the other way around, I'm sure. 👍
Damn, I love this man. The Remains Of The Day is one of the best acting I've ever seen in a movie.
Hopkins?
MrByrnzie In The Remains of the Day? Actually, that was Geoff Peterson .
I watched Larry King interview him years ago, and he said the Remains of the Day was his favorite movie he'd done. Also said Jodie Foster was his favorite actress to work with. Said he took a part in one of the Mission Impossible movies that was set in Australia, without reading the script, just because he wanted to take a free vacation to "down under" for a while. ha ha
Totally agree.
2/27/22 this is fun to watch. His Steven Wright and Robin Williams interviews are fantastic. Craig is an excellent host
I love how all these true Hollywood legends seem to really enjoy the show.
Wow, your Soo Right
Spot on
See him &
Can’t help think of
“Are the lambs crying Clarice”
Love this guy
If you've never seen Remains of the Day, do so. You'll see what I consider the best acting performance by anyone ever. You'll see it especially when he goes out of the house. There's a very subtle unease you can sense in him being out of his element. You really feel the character of Stevens is a real person... a very real person.
i miss craig ferguson the most as a talk show host. he was warm and fun. the others could learn so much from him. such a shame his show ended.
