When anyone can subdue Clive Anderson's non-stop patter like Robin Williams did here , then you know you are in the presence of an exalted comedy genius.
I was at the recording for this. Only a fraction of Robin Williams' extraordinary performance made it on air, because he thwarted the cameras, and just - wouldn't - stop. The best live comic performer I've ever seen by a very long way indeed. What an amazing talent.

One thing I noticed about Robin Williams was that he lived on the laughs. The crowd energized him. His performance in front of an audience was a sight to behold. He energy got us through some tough times and will be missed.
You can see that he put so much energy into every ounce of performance... its no wonder that it sadly, admittedly left him dry. You can tell he felt alive during making other people happy - just sad that he went the way he did and not many people knew or could do anything about it. Just goes to show, when you know what deep unhappiness looks like, all you want to do is put the people around you anywhere but in that place. God bless you Robin, may your soul now find the peace it deserves.

It wasn't a matter of easing his pain. He had Lewy Body Dementia misdiagnosed in the media (not sure about his actual doctors) as Parkinsons. He left on his own terms which was way better than any other result from that illness.
Recently I lost a friend to a similar tragedy. I ran across this and it afforded a moment of thoughtful grace at having known my friend and the grace of laughter. It left me with a big smile...
Sadly he did have an off switch called lewy bodies dementia. The world needs you Mr.Williams but you have done your part to make life more tolerable. Rest in peace.
I've wondered what Robin Williams was doing in a regular conversation with people who have. to. ponder. ev-e-ry. thought. and... think... slow-ly. before.they... speak, when his mind was racing at Mach 5. It must have been painful for him to wait for other people to stop speaking. The man was an absolute talent, a master at his craft. Imagine how painful it must have been for him to realise that his illness prevented him from operating at that speed of thinking when it had always come so easy to him. RIP Robin Williams
I'd guess that a brain with his capabilties just reduced the energy output for the conversation to the needed amount and let the rest go for another flight :)

LOVED this video!! There's SO many he's made and this just made my day. Can anyone keep a straight face around him? NO. I'm with Rich, on this one. My face hurts too, from laughing and grinning SO much!! Robin Williams will always live on forever in our hearts!! He knew how to entertain us and keep us laughing.

The most funniest man that ever lived ❤️
Such a beautiful human being. We all have issues and he dealt with his the way that he felt appropriate. May he rest in peace and the rest of the world remember who he and his family were and still are. Thank you.
All the evidence you need to know his comedy and sillyness was not only genius but very much his shield from the sad realities in his life...just amazing..

Love finding old clips I haven't seen. Beyond awesome
Robin Williams Is The Most Diverse, Energetic, Complexity, A Great Comical Theatrical Character Actor. RIP.
He is still the funniest man on the planet. Everytime I go online I do a search for him. Think I've seen the most of Mr. Williams but once in a while I get to see something new. RIP Dear Captain...
This was one of my favorite talk show appearances by Robin Williams! Some of his best comedy!
God. Robin Williams was such a brilliant man. What a gift! RIP.
Just like a massive star in our Universe. He burned through his Comedy fuel at a very fast rate and left us way too soon and wanting so much more. But am grateful for all the body of work that's he's left behind. Much of it on RUclips and other video mediums for me and others to enjoy his comedy gifts forever. RIP
it's great that we can watch all these interviews and performances on youtube. it's a great legacy of a great man. Rest in peace the internal Robin Williams x
