I love the fact that when Jonathan compliments Anthony, Anthony spins the compliment around to the film or the director or other actors. Pure class!
I love Anthony Hopkins he's one of my favourite actors Hannibal Lector was frightening and and creepy! His Oscar was well deserved!
An interviewer once tried to test me, I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti
that’s why he’s Sir Anthony Hopkins
He's very modest considering how successful he has been...
The man is definitely in a class all to himself. A true genius and one of the world’s greatest actors EVER
Absolutely. Just add Morgan Freeman, Jack Nicholson, Michael Caine and Peter O'Toole to this list, as well.
@@warlord9808 oh I TOTALLY agree, without question

Yup...I don't think i have disliked a movie he has been in.

10:40 when he says "Hello Clarice".. that gave me instant chills.
you could hear the audience gasp after he said it
When he said that I said my God he is like a Real life hannibal lecter
Was wondering if he said it here.. he never said this phrase, its a Mandela effect it was said in the next film Hannibal with a different actor (now anyway) by him saying it here that confirms it was originally in his movie
It seems Sir Anthony Hopkins has been mandela effected 🤣
@@NoHandleratall You beat me to the mandela effect!
Plot twist: This is actually Hannibal Lector playing Anthony Hopkins for this interview.
He is such an Natural actor you cant tell the difference ❤
Anthony Hopkins voice, is to acting, what David Attenborough's voice is to documentaries.
Lol, smiles
nice comparison.
@@whatshisname3304 thanks for the love and support, how long have you been a fan?
you mean Anthony right? I m sure you do. since elephant man, and of course, silence of the lambs though I liked shadowlands, and howards end.
@@whatshisname3304Great way to start the day, which one you seen last? Ever made it to any behind the scene of any of my movie shot before?
Such a true gentleman. Genuine. Humble. An icon.
Have deep respect for Sir Anthony. Amazing talent, wicked smart, and down to Earth.
Monstrous phallus also.
Wicked smart might still be an understatement. He wrote a complete piece for a philharmonic orchestra.
"Let the audience do the work." Brilliant observation of writing, directing, and acting.
The best films leave a lot up to the audiences imagination which makes them scarier imo, like The Exorcist for example. I cant stand modern day jump scare crap, not scary at all and makes me cringe a lot of the time. It's like they're getting lazy with it with CGI and obvious jumps scares you can see coming from a mile away. Instead of making countless crappy sequels, knowing they will sell, they should come up with something new instead of dragging a series out just to make money riding the coat tails of the first and only good film of the series.
He is brilliant
I could hear him talk all day. Very soothing clear crisp voice.
Seems like a lovely guy. Humble, intelligent and kind. His performances as Hannibal Lector are up there with the best of the best.
An absolute national treasure. Thank you sir Anthony 👏🏼
Still such a handsome man with a voice like velvet .... love him! 🥰

I Marvelled at a paragraph written by a prominent figure of cinema like Sir Anthony Hopkins!! who acted Shakespeare, does such a mistake, not the only one though, 😂
In a world where everyone wants to be heard, resulting to people talking over one another, it's so refreshing to watch this interview, the host just waiting patiently for the guest to finish talking and looking genuinely interested.
I love Sir Anthony Hopkins ever since I watched The Silence of The Lambs, it still remains as one of my fave film of all time. He just comes off as someone you ought to be listening to. Very wise, very insightful and overall a gentle man. I love him.
By 1981, Sir Anthony Hopkins was practically a household name in the U.S., having starred in Magic and The Elephant Man. Forty-two years later, he’s still popular and instantly recognized in the States.
his voice resonates and is unrecognizable. did you know he is also a brilliant composer?
Yes he is , i heard the symphony that he said he composed years ago and only revealed it a couple of years ago , A masterpiece
Even his voice is classy. What an actor and artist Anthony Hopkins is!
What an absolute gem of a man. So normal yet so extraordinary!
A delightful man . He's warm , charismatic , charming , and humble . Fame , wealth and power , don't make the man . The way he handles all those treasures , is what determines how good his heart and soul are .
Anthony Hopkins and Robin Williams are my favorite actors.
Mine daughter too
With that talent and success, what a humble man he is.
This is the first time I’ve seen Anthony being interviewed. What a gentleman he is. Love his acting too.

Absolute legend of the screen and such a humble guy.
It’s odd to hear him with his native accent after watching Silence of the Lambs. A truly amazing man.
I imagine as an actor (I'm not one btw), hearing someone like Sir Anthony Hopkins say he doesn't like theatre work, is probably quite a nice thing to hear. I think a lot of actors feel the need to say that they love the theatre as it's almost like it's considered the classical way of acting that all actors should aspire to. Of course, I could be completely wrong!
Yes. World's Fastest Indian is a great movie. Salt flats in Utah on a motorcycle and they did something to the tires and he's burned in the legs.
Sir Anthony Hopkins...we salute you
Such a lovely humble guy, Jonathan Pryce is also up there in the humbleness totally grounded
Hopkins pryce Sheen , all good Welshmen !
Very enjoyable interview ,he seemed very comfortable and relaxed ,and seemed to be enjoying it ,The most relaxed I've ever seen him when interviewed, 10-10 It was enjoyable just to see him relaxed in an interview
Anthony Hopkins' voice is like butter, so smooth. I could hear him talk for hours, about anything. A great actor, a gentleman, and the kindest smile. I'm sure the Queen would agree with me.
I consider Anthony Hopkins to be a of the premier actors of our times. We’re talking about a body of work that spans 50+ years. 👍👍
The World's Fastest Indian is such an amazing movie and so glad they mentioned it amongst all his other brilliant roles.
My fave actor, he absorbs his roles entirely. 💫
Pure class... great actor great man... so much knowledge... so many stories
Sir Anthony Hopkins = a gentleman, a scholar, an actor and a great sport. Cheers from the US Sir.
Anthony Hopkins is an absolute legend. How he was never a James Bond villain in the Dalton/Brosnan era, considering he was linked with the roles of Alec Trevelyan in GoldenEye and Elliott Carver in Tomorrow Never Dies, is baffling.
Oh wow, did not know that. I can't picture anyone else in those roles though, but I suppose that's because they are so iconic, as is his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter of course
@@moongirl786 True. The original first draft for GoldenEye was written with Hopkins as Trevelyan in mind. His character wasn’t a Lienz Cossack out for revenge ala Sean Bean, but a former mentor to Bond who went rogue.
Hopkins as a Bond villain would have been brilliant! Ahh what could have been...
An interesting thought about Anthony Hopkins being a bond villain He is so scary He could have pulled it off
I loved his Hannibal role, but I did not expect he referred his voice from HAL9000 !
I didn't either but it makes sense when you think about it. A serial killer is typically cold and calculating, devoid of empathy and always analyzing. All of those qualities could be easily attributed to a computer or computer AI.
You learn something new everyday !
What a gentleman...a rare breed indeed ...
Great interview, so much better than the American interview shows. You get so much more out of it.
agree entirely!
My favourite actor for many years, from Meet Joe Black to Hearts in Atlantis and everything in between.
Sir Anthony playing Wolfman's dad as Tommy Cooper would be the most awesome movie ever. It would be lost on most Americans, but Brits of my generation or older would love it.
SPLENDID INTERVIEW. SIR ANTHONY SEEMS SO NORMAL, REAL, DOWN-TO-EARTH, AND HE EVEN MENTIONS REPEATEDLY THAT HE LEADS A HAPPY, REGULAR LIFE. NO EGO ISSUES, DESPITE BEING THE GREATEST LIVING
ACTOR. NO PERSONAL DRAMA. GORGEOUS PHOTO OF HIS WIFE.
What an absolute delightful man Anthony Hopkins is, fascinating.
My all time favorite actor is Anthony Hopkins! I'd love to know him in person! 💘
That’s awesomely great imagination, ever made it to any of movie shoot behind the scenes?
Such a generous man. In every way. I wish there were more. Listen to his AA talks. Stunning.
And also a wonderful composer of music.. I have seen his work performed by Andre Rieu and his orchestra .... Was one of the most wonderful pieces I've heard
Anthony Hopkins is such an humble person.

This guy is a PHENOMENAL actor and person!!!
What an elegant gentleman!
Thank you for soft words and love unconditionally, how long have you been a fan?
@@siranthonyhopkinshq1690 I have been a fan for 30 years. I had to Google and do the math, because it seems like I have been a fan my entire life. Silence of the Lambs was the first experience. It did quiet a number on me. I watched my purse through most of the movie and cried. Interestingly, it was the Buffalo Bill character that terrified me. Hannibal was the only part I could watch. I was fascinated by the psychology behind him. I wanted to be Clarice, so I could interview him, and thus, a fan was born. Remains of the Day was the second piece of work I saw. And I was blown away! It is still one of my favorite films. I remember at the end saying, "Now that's what a movie should be." I also loved The Edge, Legends of the Fall, and Meet Joe Black. Watching your performance after the stroke in Legends of the Fall still never ceases to amaze me, and I have watched it many times. And being a Daddy's girl, and the daughter of a powerful business man, Meet Joe Black really resonated in my heart. This interview just showed me once again how impressive I find you. Intelligent, humble, chilvalerous, elegant, witty, youthful, mutitaltented - a true Renaissance Man. I find these traits to be so rare today. I am always so delighted when I encounter them. Thank you for your work. It has touched and inspired me. I continue to look forward to what is to come from you.

Anthony Hopkins. Master of cinema. Much loved ledgend.
It’s refreshing to hear, the truth about success.
An education is fine but circulating, networking and socializing to be at the right place, meeting with the right people, at the right time and the setting of the right project IS what luck is.
Most successful actors deny being lucky and feel entitled, “No I worked hard”😂

Simply the best, and humble and unassuming with it. Surprised his rendition of Captain Bligh in “The Bounty” didn’t get a mention, that was a superb performance. In hindsight, this might have been a bad conclusion to jump to. I remember he said he went through a depressive episode around 2001 (the fallout after huge success -- the expectations for Silence's sequel -- it can do that to a person) and anyway he's just nice to listen to. I think I watched this interview in a dark room, during lockdown, isolated from friends and study, and uhh this is very different from watching on a sunny day.
Wise, classy, humble.
I like him
I love the part where he is at a private showing with his friends and towards the end asks them in the creepy voice if they are enjoying themselves and they get scared 😂😂😂
He was so slick and debonair as the original Zorro in The Mask Of Zorro
All Kudos to Woss, this is a very serious in-depth interview, during which he's able to tease out a lot of fascinating titbits of information from Hannibal about his career.
There's a you tube item where Andre rieu performs a piece composed by Sir Anthony.
Superb and quite emotional.
For me personally- The Elephant Man. I was an A-Levels student in London. Away from home, across continents, across the seas. I cried. Even harder when I watched TEM.
