Ingredients:
1 small cup green lentils
soaked overnight and sprouted.
(you can use masoor dal)
5 tbsp coconut milk
2 each: onion, green chilli
1 tomato
1 tbsp jaggery
1 tsp each: garam masala,
cumin seeds, paprika
Half tsp each: red chilli powder,
mustard seeds
1/4 teaspoon asafoetida

Quick question: my bag of Lentils, specifically says that Lentils don't require soaking. Is there a reason/ benefit this recipe calls for soaking/ sprouting?

Increases vitamin A content (my father tells me this). Sprouting gives a sweeter flavour as well. Soaking will reduce the cooking time so will save gas/electricity 😄

Super Bruno... Actually it is my favourite dish (we use masoor Dhall). Really superb.
But one more thing, why you are adding salt twice ie., With only onions and at the time of boiling. We use to do either before or after. Preferably, at the time of boiling. Ur comments are welcome😃

I like adding salt to sweat the onions, you will notice that in almost every video...they release their water so I always add it then and if I think that dish does not have enough salt then I add it again especially if we need to add extra water. Thank you 😊
